Chapter 7
Chapter 7
The days were the same after that. Every night Jou desperately wished to wake up in the darkened room hearing his dragon’s claws clicking.
But instead he work up to a room filled with flowers, get well cards and in the afternoon a crush of friends squeezed into the small hospital room.
Two days later he was released from the hospital and then sent straight to live with Yami in his apartment.
“SHUT UP YOU STUIPD TOMB ROBBER!!!”
“MAKE ME YOU INTELLECTUALLY CHALLENGED TOMB KEEPER.”
“DON’T YOU DARE THROW YOUR TWO DOLLAR WORDS AT ME!”
“HOW DARE YOU THESE WORDS COST TWICE THAT MUCH.”
Ryou sighed as he continued to set the table while Malik showed off the new gold earrings Marik had just bought him. Yugi slightly pouted in jealously.
Honda and Otogi were on the love seat, Otogi’s head rested on Honda’s lap while Honda stroked his long hair. Yami ducked walking passed the kitchen, avoiding the knife that had just been thrown and was now stuck into the wall, as he walked over to Yugi and wrapped his arms around the little Hikari.
Jou smiled as he watched everyone. Nothing had changed, everything was just as it had always been, and no one looked at him differently or belittled him. Everything was still the same; it was just another night hanging out at Yami’s apartment. Jou sighed contently as he got more comfortable in the lazy-boy recliner he was sitting in, if only his dragon were here.
“DON’T YOU DARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” A giant cloud of black smoke erupted from the kitchen as Bakura stumbled out coughing and dusting himself off.
A second later a wild eyed Marik, wearing a pink and purple floral apron that had a big white chicken and four yellow chicks on the front, came out glaring at Bakura he had a white knuckle grip on a wooden spoon as though it was the only thing that was keeping him from killing Bakura. “Dinner is going to be a late.” Marik said as he stalked back into the kitchen.
Jou threw back his head and laughed. Nothing had changed.
“Bakura you can’t be serious!”
…………….
“But he can’t do this!”
………
“Custody! He is actually going to take this to court for CUSTODY! THAT SICK FUCK!”
………………
“No, no one knows yet. Not even Jou, just you.”
……………..
The warm chuckle that escaped Yami throat soothed Jou’s strained nerves as he spied on Yami talking on the phone. He had been spying on Yami ever since the mail had arrived that morning he could feel that something was wrong.
“Of course I trust you tomb-robber your one of my best friends.”
……………..
“Yes, I know it’s unfair but we still need to think of a plan, what are our options?”
………………
“FACE HIM! Are you insane, wait don’t answer that. There is no way I’ll let that demon within 50 feet of Jou and you want us to put him into the same room with that demon! Forget it! That monster is lucky his still breathing.”
……………..
“Kura he… he isn’t strong enough yet. He can’t face his father yet. Look, can’t we just hide him for a little while, you the hikari’s fixed up the palace and they moved it into the realm of light he’ll he safe there.”
……………..
Yami sighed in defeat, “Yes, yes I see your point. Well you do what you do best and get the best lawyer you can find I don’t care about the cost!”
…………….
“Good night Bakura, sleep well and take care.” Yami carefully set the phone back onto its cradle. “Stop hiding Jou, I can sense your light energy behind me.” Yami said as he turned around and watch Jou slowly come into view preparing himself for what has to be done. It was true he could feel Jou’s light energy but only barely. Before it was like a blazing fire give off the feeling of strength, power, beauty, warmth, protection, and hope but now it felt as thought it was a candle that was reaching its end, barely flickering.
Jou slowly walked over to him like a puppy with his tail between its legs.
“Yami, what’s wrong?”
Yami wrapped his arms around the young teen and held him close.
“Don’t worry Jou. I promise I won’t let that monster hurt you. We’ll fight this tooth and nail if we have to.” He said gently kissing the top of Jou’s head and rocked him his arm like a parent would to comfort their child.
“Yami?”
“Jou your father knows where you are and is claiming custody. He’s trying to get you back Jou, JOU!!! Yami yelled as he struggled with the weight of the fainted teen.
