Igneous Reprisals

Igneous Reprisals

Bakura kicked open the door to his and Ryou’s apartment and stomped to his room.
Seeing Yami never failed to put him in a awful mood. It was taking all of his will power to stop
himself from destroying everything in his path. He knew if he punched another hole in his
bedroom door he’d never hear the end of it from Ryou. He looked around his room for
something to get his mind off of his run in with Yami. He tried playing his guitar, but the damn
high E string broke and it pissed him off even more. Bakura took a few deep breaths to calm
himself.

“Fucking pharaoh.....fucking little twit.....grrrrrrr” he growled under his breath as he kicked his
waste paper basket across the room. Bakura threw himself onto his bed and buried his face in his
hands.

‘I need to leave.’ he thought to himself as his emotions started to get the better of him. Bakura
pulled himself up off his bed and lefs ros room. He left the apartment quickly and started
walking. He didn’t know where he was walking to, but it didn’t matter. He was too angry inside
to give a rat’s ass. All he could think of was grabbing Yami by his throat and shaking him until
his head rattled. Images of all the times Yami had beat the odds and defeated him flashed
through the tomb robber’s head over and over until he couldn’t take it anymore. He needed to
hurt something, and that something just happened to come in the form of the window of
somebody’s car. Before Bakura even realized what he’d done, he’d already punched the
passenger side window out of some random person’s car. Bakura stared at his bloody hand. Tiny
shards of glass stuck into his flesh as blood oozed from the deep cuts.

“Mother fucker!” he snarled as he kicked a big dent into the rocker panel of the vehicle.

The fair haired yami stomped away from the scene and stalked through a dark alley. He couldn’t
get over how angry the pharaoh had made him. He’d never gotten this upset over his Yami
problem before, so why was he losing it now? Bakura stopped in the middle of the alley and
found a seat on the pavement between a dumpster and an old rusty oven that someone had left
there. He buried his face in his hands and sighed.

“Why me?” he ask aloud.

“Why you what?” a familiar voice answered.

Bakura quickly looked up. He was shocked to see Marik standing above him looking down.

“Damn you, Ishtar! Don’t sneak up on me like that!” Bakura snapped as he got to his feet. “What
the hell are you doing here?”

Marik, dressed in all black, leaned back on the brick wall behind them and crossed his arms.

“Is there a law against taking short cuts through alley ways?”

Bakura made a sour face as the Egyptian.

“Whatever. I don’t have time for jaw jacking.” The thief waved his hand and started walking
away.

“Hey, hold on now. What the hell happened to your hand?” Marik shouted after Bakura.

Bakura continued to walk away. “My hand is fine, now unless you want to meet the business end
of it, I suggest you leave me the hell alone!” he shouted.

Marik ran after Bakura stopstopped him before he could get away. He grabbed Bakura’s wrist
and looked at the thief’s self inflicted wound.

“Damn, Kura! You fucked yourself up pretty good! You really should get this cleaned up.
Honestly, it looks like you broke it.”

Bakura rolled his eyes and tried to pull his hand away, but he found he couldn’t. It actually hurt.

“Fuck off, my hand is just fine. Now don’t make me any more angry than I already am.” he
explained in a low, menacing voice.

Marik loosened his grip on Bakura’s wrist, but didn’t let go. He gazed intensely into Bakura’s
eyes.

“Bakura, I know why you’re angry, but I’m only going to say this once, and you better listen up.
Yami’s not worth getting this sullen over. I know you and him have had a very rocky past, but no
matter. I’m pissed at him too right now, but you don’t se mai maiming myself!”

Bakura took a deep breath. He tried to regain his composure before he did somethhe khe knew
he’d probably regret.

“Please release my wrist, Ishtar. I’m not joking around, I’m very angry with your little boyfriend
and am feeling rather homicidal.”

Marik reluctantly released Bakura.

“Bakura, please, don’t walk off on me.” he pleaded.

Bakura sighed e pue pulled out a cigarette from his jacketket.ket.. “Fine, I won’t walk off on
you. What is it you want?”

A small smile spread across Marik’s face. “I just want to hang out with you, that’s all.”

Bakura shielded his face from the light breeze blowing through the narrow alley and lit his
cigarette. He took a long drag and spoke as he exhaled. “Fine than. I suggest we go back to my
apartment though. I’m willing to bet old puzzle puss is out and about looking for you.”

Marik shook his head from side to side as he put his hand on Bakura’s shoulder. His indigo eyes
flickered with a hint of evil.

“I have a much better idea, my sexy friend......first we’ll get that hand of your bandaged up, than
we’ll go out and have ourselves some fun.......yami style.”

“Yugi!” Yami shouted up the stairs, “Have you seen my book about the gods and
goddesses of the ancient world?”

“No! Where were you the last time you looked at it?” Yugi shouted back down to Yami.

Yami crossed his arms and groaned. “Just forget I ask.” he shouted back up to Yugi as he opened
the basement door.

‘It has to be down here.’ he said to himself as he switched on the light and descended down the
old wood stairs.

Yami dug around in a couple of boxes and continued on until he found his way into a small side
room in the dank basement. He wiped away a large cobweb before entering the room. “Yuck,
spiders.” he grumbled as he felt his way through the dark. There was no light in the side room,
so Yami resorted to lighting a candle he’d remembered to grab from one of the boxes in the
main room. He struck a match and lit the tapered white candle.

“A-ha, there you are!” he smirked as the dim light revealed his what he was really looking for.
His book of ancient scriptures and spells was stacked on top a pile of other random books. He
grabbed the book and quickly made his way back up the stairs. He almost ran Yugi over in his
rush to get up the stairs>
<>

“Whoa, Yami!” Yugi chuckled as he grabbed the banister and steadied himself. “What’s the
hurry?”

“Bathroom!” Yami shouted as he zoomed up the stairs. It was a lie, but he knew how Yugi felt
about him using ancient magic.

Yugi screwed up his face as he headed to the front of the game shop. “Ooo-kay than.” he said to
himself as he grabbed his coat.

“I’m going to go pick gramps up from the hospital, see ya later Yams!” the hikari yelled as he
left the shop.

Yami heard the bells on the game shop door jingle as Yugi left the building. He grinned at the
book in his hand as he walked out of the bathroom. Yami walked down the stairs and made
himself comfy on the sofa with his book. He had just opened it when he heard the bells on the
jingle.

“Shit!” he griped as he stuffed the book under the sofa cushions and hurried out into the shop.

“Hi Yami” Malik smiled as he approached the former pharaoh.

‘Damn it.’ Yami thought to himself as Malik, who was joined by Ryou, stood infront of him.

“What brings the two of you here?” Yami ask in a fake pleasant voice.

“I was wondering if you’ve seen Marik.” Malik explained.

Yami shrugged his shoulders. “Not since he left this morning. May I ask why?”

Malik looked back at Ryou, than at Yami. “Well, it’s hard to explain, but Ryou and I have just
had a bad feeling coming through our bonds with our yami’s all day, and we can’t seem to locate
either of them.”

Yami nodded his head and crossed his arms. “Oh? Is it possible that they might be....together?”

Malik and Ryou looked at each other and started to laugh.

“I highly doubt that, Yami. Bakura can’t stand Marik.” Ryou snickered as he sided up to Malik.

Malik wrapped his arm around Ryou’s waist and nodded his head.

“No denying that.” he agreed.

Yami walked behind the cash register. He noticed a box of unsorted duel monster cards on the
edge of one of the glass card display cases and had an idea.

“Actually Malik, I just remembered something.....” he said as he strolled casually over to the
display. “Marik mentioned somng ang about going down to the marina to talk with somebody
about some rare card he needs. He wanted to borrow the Millennium Rod, but I told him it
wasn’t possible.”

All the color seemed to drain from Malik’s face at the mention of the marina, rare card, and the
Millennium Rod.

“You have to be shittin’ me.” Malik gasp.

Yami leaned back on the display case and shrugged his shoulders. “I’m only telling you what he
heard.” he lied as he purposely knocked the box of cards off of the display, making it look like it
was an accident.

“Damn!” Yami exclaimed as hundreds of cards fluttered to the floor.

Ryou quickly rushed to help Yami pick up the cards.

“I’ll help you pick them up.” Ryou politely offered.

“That’s most kind of you, Ryou. I appreciate it. Yugi’s grandfather is returning home today and
I’d hate for him to come back and see this.”<

Malik took a deep breath. “I need to go check if Marik is at the marina.” he said nervously.

Ryou got up and took hold of both Malik’s hands.

“You go on ahead, I’ll stay here and help Yami. Call here if fin find either of our yami’s, okay
baby?”

Malik squeezed Ryou’s hands and smiled.

“Works for me, I better get a move on. I’ll call you.”

Ryou kissed Malik’eek eek and smiled. “See you later.”

Malik waved as he ran out of the shop.

“Later!” he shouted as he hurried out.

Ryou kneeled down and returned to helping Yami pick up the cards. Yami looked at his rival’s
hikari and fiendishly grinned. His plan to get Ryou alone worked just as he’d hoped.

“So Ryou, tell me, how are things going with Malik?” Yami ask in a curious tone as they
gathered up the cards.

Ryou smiled brightly.

“Fabulous! I haven’t been this happy in ages.”

Yami nodded his head as he cleaned up more cards. “That’s good to hear. Are things pretty
serious between the two of you?”

Ryou shrugged his shoulders. “Eh, I don’t know. Yes, I guess.”

Yami quickly gathered more cards up. He knew he would have to act fast if he was going to be
able to go all the way with his plan.

“You guess? What do you mean by that?”

Ryou picked up the last few cards and sighed.

“Well, it’s hard to explain.”

Yami reached out for the cards Ryou was holding.

“Try me” Yami smiled at the fair hikari, making sure their hands touched as he took the cards.

Ryou let out another sigh.

“Well, last night, I was a little upset with Bakura. I wanted Malik to make lov me, me,
but....but...he refused.”

Yami cocked his head as he got up and set the box of cards back on the display case.

“Refused? Why?”<

Ryou bit his lip and stared at the floor.

“He said he thought we should wait until we are ready.”

“Are you ready for that sort of relationship?” Yami ask, knowing Ryou’s shaky past with
Bakura. The thief’s light didn’t keep it a secret that Bakura had taken advantage of him many
times in the past.

Yami falsely smiled down at Ryou and extended his hand to help him up. Ryou willingly took
Yami’s hand.

Ryou shrugged his shoulders. “I think I am, I mean, I think I love Malik, and I want to show him
that.”

Yami wasted no time pulling Ryou into a friendly embrace. He had to move this along quicker.

“You know Ryou, sex isn’t just about showing your love for another person. It’s also about
having your own needs met.” he purred into Ryou’s ear.

Yugi turned up the radio as he drove to the hospital to pick up his grandfather. He opened
his window and let the light breeze blow through his hair. It was going on 8'o clock, and the sky
was starting to grow dark. A song came on that he had heard Bakura listening to, so he started
singing along, changing a few of the words. He couldn’t help but smile as thoughts of what he
and Bakura had shared together the night before went through his mind.

“He's in love with himself

He likes the dark

On his milk white neck

The Devil's mark

Now it's all Hallows Eve

The moon is full

Will he trick or treat

 I bet he will” *

As Yugi neared the hospital, he was jolted from his thoughts as the sound of cop sirens blared
over his music. Red and blue lights reflected off the buildings ahead of him.

“What on earth?” he said to himself as he pulled over to the side of the road.

A car flew past him at a very excessive speed, followed by a mob of cop cars. As the first car
pd, Yd, Yugi caught a glimpse of the hair colors of its occupants-light blond and white as a
ghost.

“Marik? Bakura?” he said to himself as the sound of the sirens blocked out all other noises.

“Nah.....” he answered as the commotion passed by.

Yugi continued on his way to pick up his grandfather. He made it to the hospital just as darkness
had fallen. He took the elevator up to the 5th floor where his grandfather was and stopped at the
front desk.

The nurse smiled brightly when she saw him.

“Yugi Motou! I’m so glad you finally made it! You’re grandfather will be elated to know you’re
finally here.”

Yugi smiled back at her. “Hi Tanya, I got held up in traffic, otherwise I would have been here
sooner. Has gramps been much trouble?”

The nurse shook her head.

“Not at all, he’s been wonderful.”

Yugi nodded his head.

“That’s good.” he smiled as he walked down the hall to his grandfather’s room.

“Hey gramps! I hear you’re ready to come home!” Yugi exclaimed as he entered his
grandfather’s room.

The old man turned his head away from the television and smiled.

“Yugi! My how I’ve missed yI caI cannot wait to get back home. The food here is worse than
when Yami does the cooking!”

Yugi walked in and gave his grandfather a hug. He glanced up at the television and realized
there was a live news bulletin on. An aerial view of the car, followed by at least 10 squad cars
was being shown.

“A car stolen earlier today downtown is currently being pursued by local law enforcement. We
don’t have much information on the car’s occupants at the moment, but we’ll be sure to pass
along any information we receive.” the reporter said emphatically.

Yugi pointed at the television.

“Holy cow! I just saw that on the way here!” he exclaimed.

Grampa shook his head.

“I heard they caused a whole mess of trouble downtown. The news said they even threw a
bowling ball threw the window of a church! That’s sad, I tell you! I’m so glad you’re not
involved with people like that, Yugi.”

Yugi made a sour face. An uneasy feeling suddenly overcame him.

“Uh.....you know gramps, we’d better get you home. I don’t think it’s safe to be out on the road
more than we have to be tonight.”

Yugi’s grandfather nodded his head.

“I agree” he nodded adamantly.

Upon their arrival back home, Yugi helped his grandfather to his room. After tucking the
old man in, Yugi walked upstairs and was surprised to find Yami laying alone in bed. He
changed into his pajamas and joined the pharaoh.

“Hey Yami, no Marik tonight?”

Yami yawned and rolled over onto his side.

“He had something going on. How’s grandfather doing?” he ask groggily.

“He’s doing good, I just need to keep an eye on him. I can’t let him break something else.” Yugi
chuckled.

Yami reached over and scooped Yugi closer to him, pressing their bodies together. He cuddled
close to Yugi, holding him tight.

“Good to hear he’s doing well.” Yami whispered as he closed his eyes.

Yugi was surprised by Yami’s actions. He didn’t quite know what to make of them.

“Uh.....how was your day?” the hikari ask curiously.

“Exhausting” Yami sighed as he drifted to sleep.
