Chapter 8: True Feeling Revealed

(Jou's POV)

Seto Kaiba, why did you do that so suddenly? The kiss. It was
so...good, so right for some odd reason or another. But...Kaiba's
an obnoxious snob! A jerk! A creek! A guy who is wonderful in
his own way. The way I like.

"Katsuya? Are you awake?"

"Yea dad. I'm ready for school."

"Breakfast is ready!"

Mmm...Dad's cooking is the best! I wonder what he cooked this
morning?

"Be right down." I yell.

I grab my books and run downstairs to the kitchen table. I literally
swallow my breakfast and run off to school. I wonder if Kaiba will
be there today?

"Jou? Jounouchi! Wait up!"

I turn around to see Yugi running as fast as he can towards me.

"Hey Yugi. What's up?"

"Nothing much."

"So, what happened at Burger World that made you leave so quickly?
I did see Kaiba go in the bathroom right after you did."

I start having flashbacks of the kiss...the way his tongue caressed
mine...it seemed like an eternity of happiness. But should I tell him
about it? Should I even spill one little detail about the incident?
No. I shouldn't. I'll end up saying that I actually enjoyed it.

"That ass was picking on me." I say 'angrily'.

"Just you two don't get into any petty arguments or fights today."

"Nah, don't worry. I just won't say anything to him."

"are you feeling ok? You are saying that you're actually trying to
avoid Kaiba today? What really happened at Burger World?!"

"Nothing Yugi....nothing."

"Today we are beginning our Yearly Partner Project. Each of you
will be paired up with someone, like it or not. The catch, I have
chosen your partner."

Oh great, I wonder who my partner will be? I hope it's Yugi. Hmm...
now is Mr. Ass himself here today? Yep, sleeping as usual. Of all
the people in the class, I hope Itoka-sensei doesn't say..."

"...Seto Kaiba and Katsuya Jounouchi."

No! Anyone but him!

"I object" I say standing.

"Sit down Jounouchi. If you two didn't bicker so much, I would have
paired you with Yugi. Now take a choice to sit down and participate,
or you and your partner will recieve a failing grade!"

I feel a wad of paper hit the back of my head. I turn around to see
Kaiba stabbing me with his look.

"Look here, I'm not failing because you you! We are going to do this,
like it or not!"

Ehh...did he just wink at me?!

"If you two are finished exchanging words, then I can give you your
topic."

"Gomen nasai." We both say in unison and then sit back down.

"Now, as for your topic. I have chosen Mating Habits of the Animal
Kingdom. With this, I want the two of your to provide adequate
examples. Nothing sloppy or uncensored. Now, do you two
understand?"

"Hai, Itoka-sensei."

We sit down and listen as she calls the rest of the pairings.

"Well, aren't you the lucky devil Jou." Yugi says teasingly.

"What do you mean by that?!"

"You get trk ork on a project with Kaiba. Everyone knows that he's
the smartest person in the school. Just work with him and you will
know what it feels like to have an A next to your name."

"And what does that supposed to mean Yugi?"

"Ehh..heh, heh...nothing. I gotta go. Katana and I are going to the
game shop to start on our project. Look, here comes Kaiba."

I turn around to see Kaiba walking towards me. That's ass I can
just oooo...I hate him so much!

I wonder what's wrong with my inu? He should be happy to have
me as a partner.

"Come on." I say to him.

"What...where are we going??"

"To my place. I wao geo get this over with by Friday. I do have a
life to live."

"What...today is Tuesday! You expect to have everything done by
Friday? Ohh...you mean next Friday. You had me worried there for
a minute."

"I did mean this Friday inu."

"Look, if we're going to be partners, I request that you stop
calling me 'inu'."

"Ok then, may I call you Katsuya? Or how about Jou? Or would
koi work for you?"

"Koi...love?! What kind of joke are you trying to pull Kaiba?"

"No jok'll 'll even allow you to call me Seto if you wish."

"Nuh-uh. I know you're up to something Kaiba. I just want to do
the project and get it over with."

"Fine with me. Get in."

Damn, doesn't he get it? Does he not understand that I love the
way he looks when he's angry at me? They way his golden mane
makes him look so luscious? They way he's just a wonderful
friend to everyone? I want him. I need him. I hope he feels the
same way about me.

"Why are you staring at me like that Kaiba?"

"No reason, inu."

"What did I tell you about that 'inu' thing?! I'm not your dog!
Last time I checked, I was a human being who has a name. If you
want to call me anything, call me Jou."

"Fine, fine, fine. I will obey, master."

I pull into my garage and Jou follows me to my bedroom. I look
back at him, and he's amazed at the size.

"Wow, I don't even think my dad's apartment is this big."

"My home is open to you Jou. Anytime you want to come over and
take it easy, you can. Roland, my head butler, and Nira, my head
maid will make sure you're well taken care of."

He looks at me confused.

"Why Kaiba? Why are you being so nice to me all of a sudden? I know..
I know what it is. You want me to become a part of your list! I'm here
for one reason only Kaiba and that's to get the project completed!
I'm not anyone's one-night stand."

"I will change my ways to be with you Jou."

"Ehh?!" He looks at me, then back away closer to the door. "What the
hell that's supposed to mean?!"

"I...I've fallen in love with you Katsuya Jounouchi. I know you
remember the kiss. To tell you the truth, I don't know what
overcame me, but I felt that it was right to do that. When our lips
touched, and tongues caressed each other, it was the most
wonderful feeling in the world. It felt so natural."

I could feel myself almost to tears. I'm pouring my heart out to
this blonde, something I've never done, not even with Mokuba.
What's driving me to say this?

'Just listen to your heart.' I hear Yugi's voice pop in my head.

"My heart, it's yours for the taking or crushing, Katsuya."

I look at him and he's motionless. Guess he's surprised that words
like that could even come from a stiff prick like myself.

"Kaiba, it's not that...I mean...I gotta go."

He turn around and runs out my room.

"Where did I go wrong?"

Poor Kaiba. He finally pours his true feelings out, but he's
