Chapter 8: Moving Day


Four weeks later...mid July.
Marik has not come home, Malik was depressed and would only go out if Tea, Bakura or
Ryou hounded him into it. Joey and Seto are closer than ever. Yugi and Yami are
running the the game shop so Yugi's geandfather could do some traveling. Duke and
Tristain still fought over Serenity, but have found common ground by working together
at Dukes shop. Keith was had gone home but still came to visit Mia on the weekends.
She was wearing his ring.

Today though wovinoving day. Joey was finally getting to move into his apartment.
Joey signed the papers, his mother signed hers and the court ruled his father an unfit
parent, so now Joey was imancepated. As far as the law was concerned Joey was on his
own. Seto had satyed by his side the while time, showing his support and being strong
for Joey.

Now he was moving into his apartment, his very own home.

Yugi, Seto, and Mokabu got together and planned a moving/house warming party. The
three of them made sure that everyone was involved. They all had assingnd jobs and
information to get from Joey so they would know what he needed. Mokabu figured out
that Joey had no funiture of his own, Of course he told his big brother about it.
They took Joey to a building behind the garage that Mokabu called the Kiaba warehouse.
The building was one large room that was full of funiture. Mokabu had told Joey that
nothing was ever thrown away if it wasn't broken. Joey had to belive him when he saw
how much stuff there was in the room.

"You can think of what you pick out as a loaner untill you get your own or move in with
us." Seto said to kep Joey from getting upset and thinking of the funiture as charity.

"But we'ed galdly give the furnitureto you. Right Big Brother?"

"Right Mokabu."

The boys spent the next three hours picking out the basics that JOey would need an now
they were being unloaded from the moving truck and being carried in to the apartment by
the movers. Everyone was there to help Joey settle in to his new home.

The apartment was a one bedroom with a walkin closet, kitchen with a dinning nook that
flowed into the living area, a bathroom with doors leading into the bedroom and living
room. There was a balcony off of the nook that over looked a small play area in the
court yard. There was tan carpet in the living area and bed room. The nook, kitchen and
bathroom had white and tan tile floors. The best feature, to Joey, was the fireplace.
He was ready for winter, the fireplace and Seto. Oh the plans he had for Seto and the
fireplace.

Tea and Malik cleaned the kitchen and set it up for Joey. The papered all of the cabniets
and drawers with where the same shade as teh tan in the tile floors. Tea and her mother
had bought Joey a set of blackand white modern art design dishes for four; plates,
dessert plates, saucers, coffee cups, juice glasses, full size glasses and matching
flatwear. Malik and Isis had contributed a new set of black pots and pans with cooking
utencels. They placed his small collection of cookbooks in a bulit in shelf by the kitchen
door. James bt hit him a small microwave oven that they placed on the counter away from the sink. Tea and Malik had also set up the small round dining table and the four matching chiars in the dinning nook.

Mia set up his bathroom. The bathroom was small but workable. Across from the door is the sink, next to the sink is the toliet and taking uo the whole side wall was the bathtub and shower. She had bought him a hunter green shower curtine with brown stripes with a clear plastic liner. Matching green and brown rugs and seat cover. She put together a corner shelf in the shower for shampoo and such. Next to the sink she had but a green tooth brush holdrer, soap dish, and klenex cover. She also bought him towles, hadn towels and wash cloths that mat the the shower curtine.

Ryou and Bakura set up the bedroom, which made Seto a little nervious. The bedroom
set Joey had chosen from the Kiaba warehouse was a dark wood king size bed with matching chest-a-draws, five shelf bookcase and end tables. The headbord of the bed was a shelf unit with a sliding door. Ryou had made the bed with hunter green sheets and comferter that he a Bakura had picked out for bed. Joey had been able to save soem of his things by storing them at Tristian's. Part of he he saved was his books. Many would be suprized about the fact that Joey loved to read. There was many a night that you could
find him reading on the couch in Seto's office while Seto was working late. His favorite
were mysteries and the ones he could save took up the three of his shelves.

Seto had decided that Joey had to have a decent computer so he was setting one up on a
small computer desk in the area where the dinning nook and the living room area met.
Joey.

Tristian and Mokabu were setting up a amall entertainment area. Mokabu had picked out a media cabniet from the warehouse, it had room for a TV, Sterio, dvd/vcr player and room for a gamestation. Tristian's parents had bought a twenty one inch Tv for Joey as a
house warming present. JOey's mother had a sterio delivered to him, 'more quilt money'
he thought when it came. He had long ago hidden his gaming stattion and games at
Tristian's when his father had been one a sale everything for dinking money path. Duke
gave him a dvd/vcr combination.

Joey, Yami and Duke were arranging the living room funiture that Joey had picked from the
warehouse. Brown and green plaid couch with a matching arm chair and ottaman. Coffee table infront of the couch and matching end tables on both sides of the couch. The tables just happened to match the media cabniet that Mokabu had picked out. There were also two three shelf book shelfs on the wall nect to the door.

Durring all of this hard work Yugi and Serinity had slipped out of the apartment to go buy
groceries and the little things that an apartment needed to be liveable. The others would
call when something came up that they felt was needed and Yugi and Serinity would add the item to what they alreadt had. Food, cleaning supllies, trash can, laundry hamper and cloths basket, door mat, and a green rug for in front of the kitched sink. When they got back they unloded their the things and helped Tea and Malik finish the kitchen.

By four o'clock everything was in it's place, boxies broken down and in the dumpdter.
Everyone was sitting round the living room resting.

"Food. I need food." Joey moaned.

"Here, Here." Ryou second.

"Let's get pizza. We can go to the new place up the street. My treat for the hard work we
all did today. Thanks guys. " Seto said

As everyone was walking out of the apartment Joey pushed Seto back in the door. "Mokabu made plans tonight to spend the night with a friend. Yami is going to take him over there. Tonight you spend here with me."

"Oh, and are you ordering me to do this?" Seto said in a teasing voice.

"No. But my test results came back yesterday. If you don't want to celebrate with me..."

The shorter boy was cut off with a deep kiss. When they were done with the kiss Seto
smiled down at Joey. "Pizza, see Mokabu off and then back here."

with that he walked out of the door and Joey followed.
