Demons of the Dark

Zypher Dragon: Ok, its been a very, very, very, very, very, very and I would keep going but I don’t want to do that long while since I got this but I finally got to chapter 8 of Creatures of the Night, so pleaseoy. oy.


Chapter 8

Yugi looked around the classroom and noticed that Diamond or Ryou wasn’t in class yet and knowing them, they never miss a day of school. He went to sit in his seat and turned to Yami. “Yami, do you think that person with the sphinx that came up to us today might have to deal with why Ryou and Diamond aren’t here?” Yugi asked quietly, worried about his two friends safety. “It might be possible, I felt a dark demon energy radiating off him and the sphinx so they must be two of the dark demons looking for their mates.” Yami said.

Yugi nodded, remembering the myth Aqua told him about a few days ago. Before class started, Seto, Jou, Ruby and Kaiser came and that made Yugi wonder why they both came in at the same time if they couldn’t stand being near each other. Nobody didn’t questioned why they came in late and just went on with the rest of class.

After that class and a few more, having two new students named Marik and Toben, both of them not having a last name, lunch came. Yami and Aqua walked outside with Yugi after putting their books away into their lockers. “Yami, do you have a feeling those two new students might be the remaining dark demons?” Yugi asked as he sat down on one of the benches at the side of the school where no one can find or see them.

Aqua climbed onto the wall, and looked down quietly, finding someone suiting for their own meal for the day while Yami sat beside Yugi. “Maybe, I couldn’t tell since their energy was masked but I have a feeling they are the last of the dark demons that need to find their mates.” Yami said just as Aqua came back with a plump man in his jaws, the man’s neck obviously snapped in two so the man couldn’t make a sound.

Yugi looked to the dead and and felt his small demon side taking over and went up to him, looking over to Aqua for consent. “Go ahead Yugi, tonight we’ll teach you how to hunt just in case were not there to help you.” Aqua said and he nodded, his small claws showing as he tore off a piece of flesh from the man and ate it quietly, not used to being a demon quite yet but got used to it after the first bite of the flesh.

Yami got up after watching Yugi for a bit and sat beside him, going to eat his fill from the man, Aqua doing the same. On the other side of the school, Seto and Ruby were sharing their own meal with Jou and Kaiser. Jou lifted his head, some blood smeared on his face and looked to Seto. “Seto, when that new student came in with the sphinx, I felt some kind of aura radiating off them both before it disappeared like nothing was ever there, do you know what it is?” Jou asked quietly.

Seto ate the ripped piece of flesh he had in his mouth and licked the blood of his lips before turning to Jou. “Did you feel any type of darkness through the aura you felt when you saw them?” Seto asked and he nodded. “Then they must be the dark demons looking for their mates.” Seto said and Jou looked curious. “What are dark demons Seto?” he asked again.

“Dark demons are demons like us only they don’t have much of a sanity as you might say, because of all the darkness inside them. When a person is converted into a dark demon, they only have a small bit of light inside them and that shows who their true mate is, they will feel pain the farther away they are from their mate and that what riles up their insanity and make them become killing machines and unlike us, we leave something like bones or shreds of our victim’s clothing while dark demons completely devours theirs.” Seto explained and Jou nodded.

“So, Marik and Toben felt that someone that is in this school is their mate?” Jou asked once again and he nodded. “Yeah but hopefully they’ll find that person or persons soon.” Seto said as he went back to the woman they caught. “Why?” Jou said and Ruby lifted his head.

“Because, if a dark demon can’t find their own mate within a period of time, then the light inside them with fade out and once that happens then any other demons nearby that have a mate, the dark demon will kill their mate so that demon will be alone unless that demon find a reincarnated form of his/her previous mate or die willingly by that demon that killed their mate.” Ruby said and Jou looked shocked.

“So if Marik of Toben don’t find their mates then me and Kaiser will be killed?” he asked and Ruby nodded. “Yes and they only have until the next full moon to do so or else you two will be dead but we won’t let you die without a fight so if that does happen then we will risk out lives to save you both.” Ruby said and he smiled. “Thank you, both of you.” Jou said and he went back to their meal, Ruby doing the same.

As Seto was explaining about the dark demons, Marik and Toben were looking around the school grounds for their mates. ‘I know they’re around here somewhere, now where could they be?’ Marik thought. he then saw a tanned boy with blond hair that almost looked like him except it wasn’t spiked up like his and beside him was a sphinx that looked like Toben. ‘ I think I found them.’ He thought as he smiled going up to them and tapped the boy’s shoulder.

Malik turned around and saw the new boy and his sphinx beside him. “Oh, hi.” He said, smiling lightly. Marik smiled back. “Hello, I haven’t seen you around here before, what’s your name?” he asked. “My name is Malik Ishtar and this is Topaz Ishtar.” He said, pointing over to the lighter blonde sphinx beside him.

“Its nice to meet you both.” He looked around to make sure no one is nearby and turned back to them. “Hey, would you like to come with me and leave school for the day, me and my sphinx, Toben would like to know more about you both.” He said. “I don’t know, we may like to jump into class late but missing school is a different thing.” Topaz said.

“Come on, its only for a day and we really want to know you both more.” Toben said. ‘ And I want to love you Topaz just like how Marik would want to love Malik but will you return our love or earteartbroken from your rejection?’ he thought almost sadly. “Ok, since you and Marik would like to know so much about us.” Malik said and both Marik and Toben was almost cheering inside now that they might have the chance to be with their mates now.

“Ok, let’s get going before someone sees us.” Toben said. They nodded and climbed over the wall with the help of Marik and Toben and left in the direction of their house since Topaz and Malik’s sister, Isis, was still home and coming back from school early would deal with some yelling from her.

After school, Yugi met up with Jou and Kaiser, asking them why they came in with Seto and Ruby and when he heard that they were lovers, he was shocked but then he thought about it and congratulated Jou and Kaiser relationship with Seto and Ruby before leaving with Yami and Aqua when they came out of the school building after getting rid of the remains of the man they had for lunch earlier since they didn’t have time to get rid of it before the lunch bell rang.

“So, what are we going to do tonight Yami?” Yugi asked as they walked back home. “Well, we are going to teach you how to hunt while in your demon form since you are a smaller demon, it will be a bit hard to catch something without help from one of us so you’re going to learn how you can hunt without our help.” Yami said and Yugi nodded.

“I can’t wait til then Yami.” Yugi said and hugged Yami around his waist and he smiled down at him, picking him up and kissed his cheek. “I can’t wait either, it will be a pleasure teaching you how to hunt Yugi.” Yami said as they reached up to the door of their house and Aqua went to unlocked the door.

Yugi looked up to Yami. “So what do I need to know first Yami?” Yugi asked as Yami sat down on the sofa, placing him in his lap. “Well, the first thing you need to know is how to shift so you can go into shadows and not be seen by your victim.” Yami said. “How can I do that?” Yugi asked. “Just watch Aqua and he’ll help you.” Yami said, placing Yugi onto the floor so he could follow what Aqua does.

“Now Yugi, its easy to do this, just concentrate your aura on the shadows, just watch me.” Aqua said and Yugi nodded. Aqua closed his eyes, feeling his aura fading as he sinked into his own shadow while Yugi watched on, amazed at the ability. “Now, go ahead and try Yugi, it won’t be that hard since Aqua will be there with you.” Yami said, pointing to the shadow where was was standing before.

Yugi nodded and stood over the shadow and closed his eyes like Aqua did, concentrating on the shadows around him and felt himself sink into the shadows and when he was there, he opened his eyes and saw Aqua in front of him, smiling and he smiled too. “Great job Yugi, now I’m going to show you how to move around through the shadows.” He pointed up to the shadow the came from, looking a grayish black unlike the area around them.

“Whenever you see a spot like this then that will tell you where you can leave from and also helps you see where you are.” Aqua said and Yugi nodded. He floated over to another spot of grayish black area and beckoned Yugi over to him. “This is where you need to come out, there are other places you can go to but when it comes to hunting, go for an area where your victim is running to.” Aqua said. “For example, we’re near the shadows of the sofa so Yami will be like a victim so as long as your quiet you can catch him, go ahead and try Yugi.”

Yugi nodded again and as quiet as he could, he slipped from the shadows of the sofa and tried to grab Yami but he was too fast and caught him instead and Aqua laughed as he came up. “That another thing to worry about, your victim might not try to catch you but they m run run faster than you can catch them if you make any sound of your appearance.” Aqua said and he nodded, giggling softly as Yami kissed around his neck.

After a few more instructions on how to hunt through shadows, they changed into their demon forms and went out. “Are you ready for you first hunt Yugi?” Yami asked and he nodded. “Yeah, you both were great teachers so I might be able to pull this off.” Yugi said as they climbed up the wall of a building and looked down to find anyone good for Yugi to hunt.

Yami spotted a girl walking down the street and pointed down to her. “There’s your first victim Yugi, we’ll be watching you from up here.” Yami said and Yugi nodded, going down into the alley.

The girl heard a soft sobbing from the alley and turned to see Yugi there crying, his two kois watching him from above. She walk over to him and kneeled down. “What’s the matter?” she said softly. Yugi looked up, tears in his eyes. “I lost my toy inside this dark alley and I’m scared to go in there.” Yugi said, faking his sadness. The girl smiled and helped Yugi up, not feeling his sharp claws. “Let’s go find your toy then, little boy.” The girl said and Yugi nodded. holding onto her hand as they walked into the alley.

Once they got farther into the alley, Yugi stopped and the girl stopped with him. “Is this where you lost you toy.” The girl asked. He shook his head. “No, but this is where you lose you life.” Yugi said and before the girl could react, Yugi jumped up and clamped his small fangs into the girl’s neck, keeping her from screaming as he sucked the blood from her.

She tried to push Yugi off her but he had a good grip onto her shoulders so she let out a scream she could muster as she felt to the ground. Yugi let go of her neck and smiled at his first catch then heard a man’s voice coming near the alley but Yami jumped from the building, taking care of the man before he could spot them and dragged him back over to Yugi as Aqua dropped down from the building and landed on his feet quietly.

“You did a great job Yugi, you amazed both of us using your innocence to get the girl but who wouldn’t help a cute demon like you.” Yami said as he nuzzled Yugi. He nuzzled back and smiled at him. “I know you two wouldn’t mind at all since you’re my koibitos, you both help me through a lot, but the best thing was that you proposed to me and I’m very happy for that, soon I’ll be able to be with you both.” Yugi said.

“I know, we’re both happy that you wanted to be with us in marriage Yugi, our little koibito.” Aqua said as he nuzzled Yugi’s small snout and he nuzzled him back. Yami smiled. “Ok, let’s go ahead and finish off these two so we can look around town for a bit before we go home little koibito.” Yami said and Yugi nodded, going over to the girl he caught and took care of her while Yami and Aqua dealt with the man that tried to ruin Yugi’s first catch.

After they finish their meal, they walked around the city for a bit, Yugi laying on Yami’s back, eyes closed lightly. “I love you so much Yami, I’m so glad I met you and Aqua that day in school.” Yugi said softly. Yami nodded. “We’re glad to even met you cause if we didn’t, who knows what could’ve happened.” Yami said as they walked through the city some more before calling it a night and left to go back home to rest for the next
