Chapter 7

Yusei landed in front of Saiga’s hideout, glad that there were no reporters swarming the area yet. He raced up the stairs and entered the apartment. Himuro and Yanagi looked at him with concern.
“You guys should take Rua and Ruka and lay low at their place. The media’s found a new story, it seems. I’m taking my bike and heading back to the Satellite. I’ll keep in touch,” Yusei said, grabbing his D-wheel and heading back outside, leaving the others to stare at the empty doorway in stunned confusion.
As soon as Yusei had reached the sidewalk, the angel wrapped his arms around the middle of his D-Wheel and beat his wings. It didn’t budge.
“Dammit!” he shouted. “How the hell am I gonna get this thing back home?”
“Yusei-san?” called a blue-haired woman in a skirt suit. Yusei turned to look at her. “Atlas-sama sent me. He said you might need help getting your D-Wheel back to the Satellite.”
“Jack sent you? I thought he lost his status here,” Yusei replied, suspicious. The woman shook her head.
“Not to me, he hasn’t,” she said sadly. She looked up into Yusei’s sapphire blue eyes. “Atlas-sama said you plan to save everyone from this division Godwin created. I want to help, and I plan to start by delivering your D-Wheel and the Wheel of Fortune to the Satellite.”
Yusei nodded. There was no lie in the woman’s eyes. He pulled a small disk drive out of his pocket and copied something from his D-Wheel’s computer onto it. He handed the drive to the woman. “This is a map of the Satellite with the location where I’ll be staying clearly marked. Bring Jack and both D-Wheels to that location as soon as possible,” Yusei instructed. The woman nodded and went to take the disk drive, but Yusei wouldn’t let go. She looked at him quizzically.
“Mind telling me your name first?” was all the angel asked. The woman blushed in embarrassment.
“I’m sorry. My name is Mikage,” she replied. Yusei let her take the disk.
“I hope to see you and Jack again soon, Mikage-san,” Yusei said, taking off for the Satellite. He didn’t notice Ushio come out and help Mikage push Yusei’s D-Wheel into an unmarked van. The Security officer wasn’t wearing his uniform.
