Chapter 7


The next day Joey decided to go for a little walk by himself after experiencing that kiss with Saphrion his nerves had been acting up. It was the first time someone had actually kissed him on the lips and that person being another man didn’t make anything any easier.

Confessing to Saphrion just the other night made Joey feel a little confused did he confess that he was in love with the archangel out of pity or was it the truth. When Saphrion had told him about his past it seemed it was Joey’s job to cheer him up somehow.

Though the case being saying that you might actually love someone the first minute and then probably thinking you don’t the next could make things a little complicated. Joey then remembered what would happen to Saphrion if their relationship continued.

Joey wasn’t sure if anything would happen to him but he knew full well what god would do to his companion. Joey couldn’t live with himself if it was because of his feelings that would destroy Saphrion.

He understood that a love relationship between them couldn’t be hidden for long. Joey rubbed his hands through his hair and not sure what to think.

He stopped walking when he came upon a bridge which went across a small river. Soon at a blink of an eye someone with long white hair appeared beside him. “Hi you must be Joey right” the blonde nodded his head.

“Yeah I thought so you’re the guy Saphrion has been hanging around with”, “you know Saphrion would you happen to be an archangel as well” Joey asked. “Sure am, my names Michael I happen to be an archangel of truth” he replied.

“Archangel of truth so I would imagine that Saphrion use to be part of your group or something”. “So he told you about that huh I’m quite surprised that he would tell someone especially a human for that matter” Michael put his hands on the railing.

“Is their something you wanted from me otherwise I should be getting back” Joey was about to walk of when Michael said something. “Do you love Saphrion” that stopped Joey in his tracks “you should forget about him the longer he stays with you the more danger he is in”.

“I’m sure that since he told you about being an archangel of truth that he must have told some more things including what would happen to him if he fell in love with either a human or a dark angel” Joey clenched his fists

“Yes I am well aware of it” Joey said “then you will understand that you must leave him be the dark angels are no longer after you Lucifer is more focused on Saphrion he must come back to heaven were he belongs you agree don’t you I am sure you don’t want to be responsible for his demise” Michael explained.

Michael put his hand on Joey’s shoulder “I can tell that you are in love with him but every archangel and dark angel must obey this rule if not severe punishment is involved you have to let Saphrion go he was only here to protect you but there is no need for that anymore”.

“Lucifer has agreed not to harm you anymore so now you can get on with your life” Joey turned around to look at Michael. “Are you trying to tell me I should just forget what’s happened my life was perfectly fine before I found out I was a dark angel, if it wasn’t for that I would never have met Saphrion”.

“How can I forget him, he saved me so many times and still I don’t know how to pay him back yes of course I understand that I’m putting his life at risk do you know how hard it is trying to figure out what I should do, I’m not allowed to be with him because of this stupid law your god came up with” Joey was now getting a bit mad.

“Love isn’t something that some one can just ignore it is a feeling every body has you can’t help who you fall for my mother was one of them, she fell in love with a human so what and yet she got banished I never even knew her and this is all your gods doing”.

Michael could see all the hurt and sadness on the humans face “hasn’t Saphrion suffered enough cant god just let him go he has already had his consequence for being in love with Lucifer he shouldn’t die that’s not right it just isn’t” tears were now running down his face.

“Look I know were your coming from believe me and I can tell your intentions are good and that you care deeply for Saphrion but it is not as simple as that, since the beginning all archangels must follow god going against him is not something we can do”.

Michael looked up at the clouds “heaven is such a sacred and peaceful place we archangels have tried over thousands of years to keep heaven the way it is now” he then looked back at Joey.

“We are different from you we can not love who we choose and even if we did their was no way we could be together with out loved one your mother wouldn’t have been able to live with you in the first place since she would have had to come back to heaven also, just take my word for it and leave Saphrion”.

Michael then disappeared what was Joey going to do he kept thinking that to himself over and over again. Their had to be some way around it but to tell the truth their wasn’t there was only one solution Joey must leave Saphrion’s side before it was to late.

When Saphrion woke up he noticed that Joey wasn’t in the room when he saw a note on the table. It said that he had just gone for a walk and he would be back soon, Saphrion waited but Joey still hadn’t shown up.

He looked at the clock and it was 4pm something was not right so Saphrion decided he would go out and look for Joey. Unfortunately he was having no luck Saphrion was even asking people if they had seen a man with Joey’s description. He finally got a lead someone said they had seen a man like that standing on a bridge in the park talking to someone.

Saphrion headed over their at once but Joey wasn’t their he wondered who it was Joey had been talking to. Something was not right he went back to the apartment to see if Joey had come back.

After five days Saphrion already knew that Joey had left him without even saying a word. The archangel was back up in heaven doing what he had always been doing before he met Joey. Saphrion couldn’t forget the moment when he saw Joey and that night when they had both kissed.

It was just that Saphrion didn’t understand why the human just got up and left without even saying goodbye. Michael kept his eye on Saphrion and could tell that the power was not as focused as he use to be.

Michael knew that Saphrion would get extremely angry with him if he knew that it was his doing for Joey’s leaving. However Michael only did it for Saphrion’s sake and well being even if it meant tearing them apart.

Back on earth it had already been three months and during that time Joey had found himself a part time job which was a good distraction to help him forget about the archangel. Joey had a slight guess that Saphrion has probably given up searching for him and went back up to heaven.

Though Joey hated not having Saphrion’s company any more he could now get back to his life and not worry about what punishment would have come to Saphrion. “Joey take the trash out would you please”, “yes sir”. Joey grabbed the trash and headed out the back to put it in the large trash bin.

“There we go” Joey was about to walk back in when he was suddenly hugged around the waist. It startled him “HEY LET GO YOU PERVERT” Joey yelled and yanked himself away.

The moment he turned around Joey couldn’t believe who was standing right before him “Sa…Saphrion”. “I have finally found you” then suddenly just out of the blue Saphrion slapped Joey on the face and gave the dark angel an angry glare.

“Hey what was that for” Joey touched his now red cheek with his hand “that was for leaving and not telling me”. Saphrion then touched Joey’s sore cheek “I apologise for hitting you”. Joey just sighed saying it was alright but didn’t really feel that comfortable being around the archangel.

“You shouldn’t be here Saphrion”, “tell me why did you leave without a trace” Joey looked away. “I had to their was no other way” he was going to head back inside but Saphrion grabbed his arm.

“That isn’t really a good enough reason Joey now tell me why did you leave was it because I kissed you is that it” Joey shook his head “no”. “Then what, WHAT WAS IT THAT MADE YOU RUN AWAY FROM ME” Saphrion was losing his patience.

“I JUST HAD TO ITS NOT LIKE I DIDN’T WANT TO DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS FOR ME TO LEAVE LIKE THAT AND, and” Joey was now crying. “Not even being able to say goodbye because I knew you would stop me but their was no other choice I can’t risk your life just because of some fake feelings” Saphrion let go of Joey’s arm.

“Fake feelings how can you say that so after telling me you loved me was all just a lie I cannot believe that and I will not believe that I knew that night that what you said to me came from your heart I could see it in your eyes, now look at me Joey” Saphrion grabbed the blonde’s shoulders.

“Don’t Saphrion”, “look at me Joey” he grabbed the humans chin to face him Joey had teary eyes. “I am going to tell you this and I hope it sinks in” Joey quickly put his hands over his ears knowing exactly what Saphrion was going to say. “Please don’t Saphrion” Joey shut his eyes tightly.

Saphrion grabbed Joey’s wrists and pulled them away from his ears wanting the human to listen. Saphrion then embraced Joey and whispered the forbidden words into Joey’s right ear. “I love you” that now brought more tears to Joey’s eyes the boy tightly grasped onto Saphrion’s shirt like he didn’t want to let go.

Suddenly dark clouds covered the sky and lightning struck something was defiantly wrong and both Saphrion and Joey could feel it. Michael looked down from heaven as well as the other archangels of truth remembering what the high council told them.

“It is unforgivable Saphrion has yet again gone against god and our lord will not stand for this, Saphrion already knew what his punishment would be if he was to disobey the law and god you Michael and your companions must go down to earth a finish of the traitor is that understood”.

Michael bowed his head and said yes before getting the others, all six of the archangels of truth were now ready to face their old companion and friend. “I can’t believe we have to do this” Gabriel said “we have no other choice remember Saphrion is no longer one of us he is our enemy and we must do this for god and heaven” Michael instructed.

This was going to be a fight not just between enemies but between life long friends which was going to be hard for them to do. Saphrion could already feel the presence of his old companions and would do everything in his power to protect Joey and their love for one another.


Now this is getting interesting and also a bit scary what will happen even I’m not sure yet…
