So, let’s just back to the story…
---
It was just Kaiba’s nature. He didn’t mean anything bad. He just repressed everything about that subject. He believed in present, not in past. But he couldn’t find any justification for the fact he didn’t know why he loved Joey. It should have stayed in present as well as in past because he loved Joey in present too.
“Joey, I think I’m not ready to answer.” he said, turning his back to Joey.
“Why? What are you afraid of?” Joey propped to his elbows, frowning.
“I’m just tired…You think orgasms you gave me didn’t exhaust me?”
Joey chuckled.
His bed was too small for both of them.
“If you fall asleep, I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep. The bed is too small.”
Kaiba turned toward him, gesturing him to snuggle.
Joey smiled and snuggled against his chest. He liked the warmth. It was winter and it was cold in his small apartment.
The heat wasn’t working, but he had enough blankets.
And the warmth of his lover was there as well.
“Don’t worry, I’ll tell you tomorrow…” Seto sighed. The long night was before him…He had to think about his reasons.
“Ok…” Joey yawned and closed his eyes, “But if you…” he fell asleep.
---
He was feeling like in heaven. His hands tightly wrapped around his smaller boyfriend in a protective manner, the warmth they were sharing.
He was observing Joey as the said was sleeping peacefully, snoring slightly.
He smiled. It was so cute.
He was observing Joey’s face, his relaxed expression, careless and beautiful.
A few strands of hair were falling on his eyes, giving him innocent look. Like he wasn’t fucking senseless the brunette only a couple of hours ago. He looked like a virgin.
Seto smiled softly once more.
When he was sure Joey was really sleeping, he slowly stood up, looking once more at his sleeping beloved and exited the room.
He was wandering the small apartment. There weren’t much furniture, but it was clean and neat place.
He entered the small kitchen first. He found the switch and blue light illuminated the room.
It was all blue- small blue kitchen table, four blue wood chairs, blue marble floor, kitchen counter, the walls…And it was all neat. He opened the fridge-it was full of various items and they seemed to be fresh. Kaiba was standing for a moment, processing the image in his mind.
He knew the kitchen and everything else, he’d been there for a few times in the past, until Joey moved to his mansion.
But he hadn’t been there for so long and couldn’t remember the place properly.
He was just refreshing his memory.
He was surprised by neatness of the place. He closed the fridge and headed to the living room.
There were still plates from cake Joey’s friends had consumed before he arrived. And glasses of juice as well. Well, ok, he didn’t have time, he was too busy…fucking the brunette.
Kaiba glanced over the bookcases along one of the walls, smirking. Joey liked to read and he was very smart, despite the stereotype that was circling worldwide-puppies cannot read and are utterly stupid.
He was just busy looking wrong sides of Joey’s personality, he had let himself be blinded with Joey’s playfulness. Joey wasn’t dumb at all.
He sat on the couch, flipping through pages of one book he took from one of the bookcases.
He was remembering Joey’s and his first kiss.
He was the one who initiated the kiss.

Flashback
“You think you know everything, but you know nothing, you moneybags!” Joey was yelling, his voice was echoing along the empty street. It was late at night.
Kaiba was smirking.
“Do you need to add something that I actually haven’t heard from you in these past few years?”
“I…I do!” Joey was red as tomato and very mad.
He met Kaiba on his way home and they exchanged a few insults, like they were always doing. But Joey really snapped this time.
“I need to add something myself.” Seto said, finding Joey’s blush attractive somehow.
It was spontaneous, the kiss he gave Joey.
The blonde was struggling at first, but quickly gave up, kissing back.
Kaiba pinned him against one of the walls, making the kiss more eager.
After they parted, Joey was staring at him, stunned.
“What was that for?!” he asked.
Kaiba nuzzled his nose.
“Because…I like you.” he said seductively.
It was the most beautiful kiss Kaiba had ever had. He was melting in those golden eyes.
And that was the beginning of everything.
But it was too cold.
It was too painful.
End flashback

Kaiba smiled, closing the book. He remembered his mixed feelings he was feeling then.
Maybe they were his reasons.
He returned book to its place, admiring how Joey was taking care of alphabetic order.
There was no dust on the books. There was no dust at all.
And everything smelled on chocolate.
He headed to the bathroom.
It was small, but cute.
The towels were neatly placed on one of the shelves, Joey’s razor was on another, clean and sharp. Kaiba smiled. Again. That was why Joey’s cheeks were always so smooth.
He looked at his reflection in the mirror, resting his hands on small white sink.
There they were-sparkles in his eyes, expressing the depth of his soul.
Joey has changed him.
He turned all lights off, placing himself next to his lover on that ridiculously small bed of his.
He was feeling some tickling in his heart and his lungs were full of air, ready to explode. And he recognized the feeling-it was love. Endless and undisputable love and respect. Admiration.
---
The morning was cold.
During the breakfast Kaiba said nothing.
“Are you going to go to work now?” Joey was the one to break the silence.
He was sleeping so well last night. It was so refreshing.
Yet something was wrong now.
Kaiba was somehow strange.
Kaiba didn’t even look at him. He was staring at his food, instead.
“Not in the mood.” he muttered.
Joey just shook his head.
“You sure you’re all right?”
Kaiba nodded.
“Actually, there is something I want to talk to you about.” he said.
Joey just gulped, detecting seriousness in Seto’s voice.
