There was silence for a while after Jounouchi finished reading the fortune. Tristan laughed thinking it was the ‘stupidest fortune in the world’ while and Anzu awed over it. Yugi having just come back into the room was a little confused. Jou stuffed the fortune in his pocket, not wanting to damage his pride anymore.

Seto on the other hand was blushing furiously while digging his claws into the rug, suddenly not hungry anymore. So what if he lo-liked Jou! He’d caught himself just in time, still unsure what he was feeling was love. Besides it didn’t change a thing, not a damn thing! He would still be stuck in a micro form, waiting for his time to return to his old self.

Shaking his head he plopped to his side knowing that the first thing he’d most likely do, when he got back to normal, was to fall back into a familiar theme. He’d be just another white sheep, billionaire, with too much money and no one to love, save for Mokuba. He didn’t even want to think about the press, those fucking vultures!

Looking up at Jou he noticed that sort of spaced out look on the blonde’s face as he stared out the window. Seto looked over at the window as well and groaned quietly, the snow was relentless! His fur suddenly stood on end, knowing that if it continued to come down the geek squad would be forced to spend the night or freeze to death! Personally he hoped Anzu would brave her way out there. She was loud, annoying and way too friendly for his comfort! That was probably a reason why he preferred men over women.

Yugi cleared his throat catching Jou’s attention. “I forgot to tell you Jou, Mokuba called her a few days ago. Seems Kaiba’s still missing, they’re presuming him dead in a few weeks if he doesn’t show up”

Seto snapped his attention over to Yugi hissing, quite angry that they’d put that kind of pressure onto Mokuba. He’d been so caught up in his little mistake slash vacation that he didn’t think that his little brother would be weighted down with so much! Sure work would be difficult but now this, Mokuba had to be going nuts! He needed to get back to his old self now!

“How many days before they…claim dat he’s dead?” Jou mumbled clearing his throat, trying not to get upset about the situation.

“He’s got about sixteen days” Yugi told him putting his finger to his lips in thought. They were both brought out of the conversation when Tristan cleared his throat.

“Look, lets not talk about Kaiba…It’s kind of a depressing subject” he mumbled. He was trying to spare Jou’s feelings like a good friend should. Jou nodded and scooped Seto up while soothing down the fur.

“So uh, what we gonna play here?” Jou asked trying to keep his game face on. Tristan smirking pulled out a try full of shot glasses. Anzu sighed and scooted closer, she’d never hear the end of it if she didn’t join in at least that’s what her mind provided. Yugi hesitated and took Seto from Jou’s arms.

“KC and I’ll watch you guys!” he chirped wanting to have nothing to do with their weird drinking games. Besides, someone had to be there to find a camera in case something extremely funny happened.

~~

Yugi and Seto looked at the three of them with a bored expression. It had been two hours before they slumped down drunk signaling the game was over. Yugi, knowing how dangerous it was and made sure they were on their sides at least. He’d probably have to stay up too at least until one of them woke up enough to look after the others.

Seto leapt out of Yugi’s arms and stretched before making his way over to Jou. He knew that in this body he couldn’t stay up for the life of him but that didn’t mean he couldn’t at least try. Glancing at the window he noticed that it would be quite a good while until the sun came up.

“…Kaiba” Yugi called out catching Seto’s attention, who glanced over at the short duelist with a mildly annoyed expression. A large smile etched its way onto Yugi’s face, he had been right the first time but he had to make sure. Getting up he fished into his pocket for a piece of paper, then proceeded to hunt down a pen. Finally finding one he set the paper and pen before the kitten.

“What happened to you?” he asked. Seto glared at Yugi, the pen was way too big for his mouth and even if he could lift it he wasn’t going to humor the mini teen again.

“Buzz off Mouto” came the mewed reply. Yugi sighed and rubbed his forehead mumbling something to himself about going crazy. Seto smirked, it served him right! He wasn’t someone’s play thing, he was Seto Kaiba damnit! Besides he had more important thing’s to worry about…namely a drunk puppy.

He didn’t blame Jou for wanting to drink; he seemed to be under too much pressure at the moment. Lying down, Seto made him-self comfortable knowing that it would be a long time before someone woke up.

~~

The hours past slowly, finally drifting the late morning sun. Anzu stretched as she looked around the room. The rest of them were all asleep still, shrugging she tried to stand up but soon found her legs week and her head began to furiously ache. Groaning she forced herself to lie back down on the uncomfortably hard floor.

Honda was the next to wake up, finding himself in the same exact position as Anzu. Looking over at Jou he lightly kicked the blonde until he woke up. Jounouchi’s golden eyes snapped open but soon closed again feeling the nausea hit. That was one reason why he didn’t like to drink too often.

Seto finally closed his eyes, already comfortable the way he was. He knew that no one would disturb him if they could help; the group thought he was the cutest thing in the world. He snorted in his mind, if only the others knew.

It only seemed like a few minutes, but really hours later when everyone was finally up and about. In all that time the snow hadn’t stopped. The way things were going it seemed as if Japan and maybe the rest of the world were in for another ice age!

“I wonder if we’ll live ta get outta here…” Jou mumbled to himself while rubbing the base of Seto’s soft ears.

“Don’t be stupid” Seto mewed while looking up at Jou causing the teen to smile. He hadn’t noticed how much the short tempered kitten had changed in only a few weeks. A happy bark broke the silence between the two of them as Blanky quickly strode over. Licking Jou on the face she grabbed Seto by the scruff of his neck and proceeded to carry him off.

A light chuckle caused Jou to turn his head to the left only to see Mrs. Taylor standing there.

“She just won’t let that little kitten go!” she paused for a second. “Not interested in the movie Jounouchi?” she asked motioning to what everyone else had been doing. He chuckled while rubbing the back of his head.

“…Nah, I was jus thinkin’” he blushed when she was suddenly at his side, feeling his forehead for a temperature.

“Are you feeling okay? I don’t want you popping a vessel in that noggin of yours!” she teased. Jou batted her hand away gentle giving her his famous lopsided grin.

“Dun worry I've already got brain damage a little more ain’t gonna hurt any!” she smiled, glad that he was at least acting like his old self. She knew that it was quiet difficult to feel in the mood for anything with all the snow. Sure snow was fun but too much was extremely depressing.

As soon as she out of the room again he continued to stare out the window. He was worried about everything and it seemed, like the snow, that everything was continually piling up. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out his ancient cell phone and moved his arm until he got a signal. He then preceded to text his baby sister, Shizuka.

Jounouchi smiled when the text was sent back with her response. He was glad she was safe and was at least able to continue on with her life without all the snow. It was good to be talking with her at least in some way.

Seto, having been completely drenched and then re-groomed bounded over to Jou and hopped up onto his lap.

“I’m gonna have to show you to Shizuka when dis is all over” Jou told him while showing Seto an old photo. It was Jou and Shizuka when they were little on the beach.

Seto glanced up at Jounouchi who seemed to have that ‘far off’ look back on his face. It seemed to be all that he would do, while not pretending to be normal.

~~

It had been two and a half days!! The snow had FINALLY melted enough for the gang to return to their respectable homes. Even Jounouchi was considering heading back home, that however was only to grab what he wanted to bring with him and never return again.

Jou took a deep breath of fresh frozen spring air. It was crisp and refreshing now that the snow had begun to melt and people could safely go outside. Leaning down he scooped Seto up and placed him inside his jacket before saying goodbye to Tristan for the moment.

“Well KC are ya brave enough ta go back ta mah place?” Jou asked Seto who mewed in response.

“Anything is better than having to spend full days with Anzu!” he grumped. Jou only laughed at Seto’s mewed response.

“Well den, here we go!” he said before quickly heading back. The trek would be a long one but they’d make it. Hopefully there would bus transportation running again soon or snow plows for cars!

They carefully made their way across, only stopping every once and a while so Jou could catch his breath. By the time they stopped again they were closer then they had been; it had taken roughly an hour and a half by foot. Sighing, the blonde duelist looked up at the apartments; thankfully it didn’t seem as if there was anybody home.

Jogging the rest of the way to the apartment building and up the stairs caused Jou to sigh a bit in content. His body was finally warmer than it had been, plus it gave him an excuse to shed the slightly uncomfortable snow clothing.

Getting out his keys he opened the door only to stare in shock.
