A Million Miles Away

For Yami Kuro Ookami Hatake because you asked. The Seto/Mokuba thing isn't my forte but we'll see what I can do. I hope you like. Although it wan't be as good as Yami being scared of Furbies I'm afraid. *giggles* Mokuba will be over 18 though.

ImmuneSys: hehe Mindfuckery. I may have to start using that word

ElementChild: I'll write your chapter next. A pairing I haven't used yet...fun!

Lyrics in * *

A Million Miles Away as sung by Jim Boyd. And I don't own the song. Making no money off this. You know the drill. I feel the need to go with someone not so mainstream and I like the movie Smoke Signals so....

Pairings: mentioned, one-sided Seto/Mokuba, Seto/Jou, Bakura/Marik/Mokuba

*When I see your face in the firelight
I wonder how the fire started
Some people might call you pretty
But I'd call you broken-hearted
And I've got a map in my pocket
That has your name written in blue
I'll follow you like a river
If you just guide me through*

In Bakura's mind it was all the kids fault. He, more than anyone else, should have known what an ass his older brother was.

And even Bakura knew that the kid was barking up the wrong tree. After all you can't force someone to feel something that is engrained into their number crunching brain to not feel. Besides feeling was for the weak.

All the kid needed was a good fuck. Which was where Bakura came in. He was willing to comply. If for nothing more than the fact he knew in the end it would tear the kid apart. Once he realized what he had done that was.

Only it didn't happen.

Bakura fucked him, sent him on his way and went on with his life. A week later the kid had shown up on his doorstep again.

Bakura didn't argue that time either. Or the third time or hell even the tenth. But the kid was starting to show up on a daily basis. He had shown up yesterday and then again today he managed to track Bakura to the arcade where he had been trying to spend some time with his light. If he didn't know any better he'd think the kid was able to track his every move.

But the kid had stared at him with those big blue eyes that were so full of...something...that Bakura felt like a river that suddenly appeared in front of a thirsty man. The kid would swallow every last drop of him if that's what Bakura wanted. Because that was what Bakura had taught him.

So here they were now. Sitting in the backyard by the fire pit, not saying anything just staring at the flames, each lost in his own thoughts.

A movement on the kid's side caught Bakura's attention and he glanced up.

The kid could be breathtaking if you believed in those type of stupid lines. Pretty even for a boy as his light was wont to point out. If you could get past the whole broken hearted thing. The firelight turned his eyes into a smokey grey and cast his bushy hair into a black and orange mane. He looked almost like a changeling sitting there like that.

A very fuckable changeling.

Bakura stood and kicked dirt onto the fire watching the flames die. "Let's go inside."

The kid nodded. Maybe this time they'd actually make it to the bedroom.

Bakura doubted it though.

*Let's rent a car and drive it,
A million miles away
Let's start a fire and survive it.
A million miles away
Let's steal the sun and hide it,
A million miles away
Let's find a storm and ride it,
A million miles away*

If you asked Mokuba what his opinion of Jou was he'd have a hard time answering.

Because he hated Jou with a passion. Or rather he hated the passion Jou inspired in his older brother.

The Kaiba brothers had been together forever. Seto had been the one to teach Mokuba how to tie his shoes, how to ride a bike, how to play Duel Monsters, he had saved him from every mistake he had ever made and every enemy that managed to get their hands on him. He taught him long division and corporate takeovers so it was only natural for Mokuba to fall in love with him. At least that's what he told himself.

Bakura had pointed out however that when you spend your whole life with one person you tended to become...reliant.

Imagining things that weren't meant to be.

Deep in his heart Mokuba knew that what he felt wasn't what Seto felt. So he buried his feelings deep down in that secret place that everyone has and tried to forget they existed. Some days were easier than others. On the hard days Mokuba found himself seeking out the one person who didn't care what he thought about Seto or Jou. In fact Bakura only cared about one thing as far as the younger Kaiba was concerned and it wasn't his sparkling personality. Then again Mokuba wasn't in it for the witty conversation himself.

As much as Mokuba hated Jou for coming between them he also had to admit that Jou had been able to do what he himself had been struggling with as of late. Namely keeping his brother human rather than the cold bastard of a CEO he had been perfecting for years. Besides both men were full of fire and their arguments seemed to actually make their relationship stronger.

Mokuba thought it was all fucked up but then again who was he to say anything. After all he was sleeping with a homicidal maniac. Sometimes he even dared to classify Bakura in the sociopath order because he found that often Bakura didn't see anything wrong with what he was doing.

That was most likely how Marik was dragged into the whole mess and how Mokuba was convinced to go along with it. Because he knew it was a bad idea from the start. He just couldn't bring himself to care.

*When I see you dance in the barlight
I wonder when the song'll end
Some people might think you graceful
But I think you're brittle and bent
And I've got a map in my pocket
Where every town is named for you
I'll make a stop in all of 'em
If you just guide me through*

Marik had traveled a lot since the last time he had tried to kill Yami. Yet for some reason he kept finding his way back to the one place one would think he would avoid. At first he had blamed the need to defeat Yugi's alter but in reality he hadn't felt the urge to do more than rant about the Phararoh no baka in a long time. It wasn't loneliness as Marik always had Malik to go back to. And every time he came back the first thing he did was find Bakura. Imagine his surprise when he walked into the small apartment to find out that Bakura had acquired a pet in the 6 months since his last visit.

Marik had his reasons for going along with Bakura and his stupid pet Kaiba. He was bored. So when white haired demon wannabe had shown up at the bar and mentioned his idea Marik agreed to it. Because it was something to do in a small town.

Something that hopefully wouldn't get him arrested.

He didn't trust the pet's brother. Bakura's assurances that his pet wouldn't tell didn't do anything to quell those thoughts either. Yeah Bakura said that Kaiba and the pet weren't on the best of terms but Bakura had been wrong before. Many times. And while Marik wasn't much of a follower he did on occasion allow Bakura to lead. This dance with the pet would be one of those occasions. Marik knew how he liked his sex and he had a pretty good idea of how Bakura liked his but he couldn't figure out where the pet fit into all of it.

Because Bakura's pet wasn't like them. At least not that he could tell. The pet was close to breaking. He could tell that even without the Millennium Items power. You could tell it in the way the pet would speak. His words were a little too fast and a little to loud. As if he were trying to drown out things that no one else could hear. Not that his sometimes friend seemed to notice. In fact he had insisted there was nothing wrong with his pet. Two hours later Marik had stopped bleeding.

Maybe it was bad form to mention it in front of said pet.

Still he was willing to share Bakura's pet as long as he was willing. And as long as the pet behaved himself. Which meant no running to his brother if things got too...intense.

*Let's rent a car and drive it,
A million miles away
Let's start a fire and survive it.
A million miles away
Let's steal the sun and hide it,
A million miles away
Let's find a storm and ride it,
A million miles away*

Seto was suspicious. His brother had been distant for a while now. It was just getting worse. Ever since Jou. The brunette had an idea of why but his mind didn't want to process it. Because they were brothers and brothers didn't feel that way about each other. They loved one another sure, of course they would, but not that way. He had come to that conclusion years before. Because Mokuba was his little brother and he didn't want to do anything to hurt him. Ever.

Sometimes though he got the inkling he failed.

Seto cared about Jou. The blonde had started out as a substitute for something he couldn't have, something he had to deny himself, but as time went on he found that being with Jou was a break from being a Kaiba. It made him happy in a way that he didn't think anything ever would.

But it was making his brother miserable.

Mokuba had denied it of course. Said over and over how happy he was for them. The lie never quite reached his eyes however.

It rocked Seto to his core to discover what his brother wanted from him. A year ago he would have been happy to comply but now...now he had Jou. He loved Jou.

Besides Seto figured Mokuba was just acting on hormones. Hormones could be ignored. Hell he had turned his off completely until a certain Halloween party where Jou had finally managed to corner him in a dark room and awaken the dormant feelings.

So time had passed and everything seemed to be okay. Mokuba seemed to be doing better. He had refocused his energy into Kaiba Corp. The teen had been very productive, pumping out new ideas and even improvements for technology that Seto himself had come up with. He was the perfect Kaiba.

Then Mokuba started disappearing. At first it was just for a few hours and his brother chalked it up to male wandering. He was glad that Mokuba seemed to be moving on. Then hours became days. The first time Mokuba disappeared over night without telling him where he was going Seto flew into a blind panic. Not even Jou had been able to calm him. He had every security officer and bodyguard at his disposal turning Domino upside down looking for him. Then the next morning Mokuba wandered home all on his own. Seto was pissed when his brother shrugged it off and went upstairs to wash the smell of sex off of himself.

So Seto redirected his energy into finding out who his little brothers mystery lover was. And so far he had been unsuccessful. Maybe teaching Mokuba how to loose someone who was following him hadn't been such a good idea. None of his tails had been able to figure out where the black haired young man was going.

Two weeks ago Mokuba had moved out. He didn't tell Seto where he was staying just that he would see him at work. Monday through Friday 7 AM to 7 PM. He said he had a life to live the rest of the time.

A life that didn't include Seto or Jou.

The stress was starting to wear on the elder. He found himself snapping at his employees and worse still at Jou.

When he actually let himself stop and think though he came to a simple conclusion. He didn't want to see his brother unhappy. He would fix it. Somehow.

*When I see you read by the candlelight
I wonder if you'll hurt your eyes
Some people like happy endings
But I've always liked a surprise
And I've got a map here in my pocket
That shows where Lucifer fell
And I'll fall from Heaven
If you guide me through Hell*

Mokuba pushed at Marik trying to get him to stop making the marks on his throat and shoulders. A task that was easier said than done. It had been strange at first but it didn't take long for Mokuba to discover he liked being between the two. Every bite, every thrust made the pain easier to bear.

"I heard he moved out today" Bakura said from the floor where he was stretched out staring at the ceiling. He glanced up at the couch where Marik had the kid pinned.

Mokuba wiggled until he was able to sit up. Well as much as one could sit up with an Egyptian trying to molest them. "Yeah I heard that too."

Marik grinned and sucked at the bruise he was trying to make bigger on Mokuba's hipbone. He had found that as long as he didn't draw blood Bakura would let him do whatever he wanted to his pet. Their pet. "Gee I bet that sucked for Jou. To be kicked out by your boyfriend like that. No warning. No explanation."

Bakura nodded his agreement. "That's why you shouldn't have a boyfriend. Fuck buddies are always better. No strings attached. No commitments."

"He wants me to move back in." Bakura rolled over to stare at him through white bangs as Marik locked a heated violet gaze on him. Mokuba squirmed under the twin look.

"Will you?" Marik sat up. If he said yes he didn't want to be between Bakura and his pet. He had a feeling Bakura wouldn't let him go without a fight.

"Get real. I'll follow you through hell if you just lead the way. Either of you. Why would I go back? Besides I like this whole fuck buddy idea."

Bakura grinned. He rose gracefully to his feet, moving towards the bedroom certain the other two would follow.

He wasn't disappointed.

Sorry for the delay. This was a harder pairing than I thought it would be. I rewrote completely 3 times before I got this version. I can do Bakura/Mokuba but adding Marik to the mix threw me. Hope you like. The next one shouldn't be so long in coming. I'm thinking by Sunday at the latest. Hope this was to your liking.
