Normal P.O.V.
The scene changed to a room of total white. “Where are we now?” Seto turned to look at Jou. All of the events he had just witnessed were dragging on his mind and making him feel weak with a strange feeling of bereavement.
“A place in between time and the real world. What you are going to see next may be quite shocking to you. I know I was surprised. Being there is just a little too weird, though. It’s better to view it this way because it seems less intrusive.”
“Explain.” Seto crossed his arms.
“A few months after this, we…they…Seth and Jani became...oh just watch.”
The area off to Seto’s left shifted into color like a giant viewing screen. The priest’s room again appeared. Two now familiar figures came into the room. Jani was bouncing up and down on his heels looking at something Seth carried in his hands. It looked like a small bowl. Seto saw Jani give Seth a pout as the priest laughed. “Now Jani these are very rare here in Egypt. They were brought a long way just to be eaten.”
“But I want to try one.” The pout grew.
“We’ll see.” Seth teased the bowl under Jani’s nose with a laugh.
“Seth!”
“What?” The priest raised an eyebrow.
“Don’t be mean!” Jani stuck his tongue out. The priest just laughed harder.
Night was soon approaching. The sun sank down outside Seth’s window. He gave his nightly bow to the sun, and instructed Jani to do so as well. He led them both in a small prayer to the gods. After the ritual was completed Seth stretched out on his bed. Jani attempted to swipe whatever was is the small bowl, only to be lightly swatted on the hand. “Wait your turn. You must feed me first.”
“Yes, master.” Jani mocked as he raised the item to the priest’s mouth. It was a grape.
Jou raised his hand and waved it. The sound disappeared, but the movement remained. They watched as one event led into another. The second event led into something which led into something else much hotter. Grapes rolled forgotten onto the floor.
Seto turned to stare at Jou, barely able to tear his eyes away from the erotic sight before him. “Seth unconsciously sensed Jani’s natural connection to dragons when they first met. It was much like his own. That was why he was so intrigued. It was an instinctive bond that they just could not fight.”
“How?” Seto couldn’t even connect sentences. They were lovers. Jani and Seth. But if this is true…if this is real…then does this mean…I have a chance? A real chance to finally be with Jounouchi?
“You watched Jani feed Seth the grapes. After finally giving Jani a grape from his own hand, Seth made a comment that Jani didn’t particularly like, but still adored all the same. That started a pillow fight…that led to a tickle fight…that led to so much more.” The images began to replay.
“What comment did he make?” His mouth had gone dry. His eyes were glued to the images flashing in front of him. Just how similar are Jani and Jou? Seth and myself?
Jou paused. He watched the passing scenes fondly, superficially recalling every single stroke that was given to his past body by the skillful priest. Seto blushed as one particularly erotic scene scrolled across like a porn video. “He called him…puppy.”
Seto gulped. “Puppy?”
“His pet name for Jani.” Jou looked at Seto.
Pet name. We both use the same pet name. Does all of this hocus pocus really exist? “They look happy.”
“They are…for seven years…until…” His voice broke as he pointed to the wall. A fierce sense of dread suddenly overcame Seto.

“Hey, Jani, do you want to go swimming?”
“Sure, Yugi. Are you sure we should go without telling Seth and Yami, though?”
“You can just send your Red eyes with a message letting them know where we are going.”
“If you’re sure it’s okay. What about the assassination attempt last week? If it hadn’t been for Kuriboh, Yami could have died.” He scribbled a small sloppy message on a sheet of paper and passed it to the floating dragon. It flew off with a yip of departure toward the throne room after Jou rubbed its head.
“I’m sure it’s okay.”
“Okay. If you’re sure. But, won’t our cards get wet.”
“We could just leave them here.” With a pause of foreboding that he could not explain, Jani finally laughed at his thoughts and set his deck down next to Yugi’s. His dragon would be back soon.
The two young males walked down a path. Seto and Jou followed them slowly. He looks exactly like Yugi. Turning a corner they walked up to a gate. Two guards stood sentry.
“We are just going down to the Nile for a swim. We will return shortly. The pharaoh and the high priest know where we are going.” Yugi smiled at the two. One of the guards opened the gate for them. Yugi ran out laughing. “Come on, Jou!”
“All right!” They took off towards the bluish-brown river.
Jou followed them somberly. Seto could tell something was going to happen. His sense of dread grew worse. Before he could spot anything, an explosion ripped through the area the boys had just passed.
“Yugi, run!” Jani coughed as his lungs took in a gulp of smoke.
“Jani!”
“Yugi, behind you! Augh! Let me go!”
“Let me go! Yam….” Yugi’s cry for help cut out suddenly.
“Yugi! No! Let me go, you bastard! Red eyes!”
“Calling for your dragon? Oh wait. You sent it to the pharaoh. It won’t get here in time. Too bad. Your deaths will be our message. No one turns against us. We will not be ignored. We will destroy Egypt. You and the little slut will be our warning to the pharaoh and priest.”
The smoke cleared to reveal a large man holding Jani by the throat high in the air. “One down. One more to go. Enjoy the land of the dead, pretty little puppy. I can see why he favored you so. To bad I don’t get to sample what he kept to himself. Oh well.”
“No!” Seto watched in horror as the man’s knife plunged into Jani’s chest. He dropped him to the ground like a rag doll, and simply walked off, laughing maniacally. Pain like Seto had never felt before pierced his heart. Tears he had not shed for many years formed in his eyes. They fell slowly down his cheeks. At the back of his subconscious he heard a whispered ‘finally’ in his own voice as memories flooded into his mind. “No…I remember now. All of it. No more, Jou…please no more.”
