Chapter 6
Yusei left the Arcadia Movement with Aki clinging to his arm. He wrapped his wing around her to comfort her, and she leaned closer to him. She needed someone to be there for her when he had other matters to attend to, at least until she regain her inner strength that Divine had broken. He knew who would be able to help, and she would be glad to help as well. Yusei picked up Aki bridal-style, earning a gasp of surprise, and took off toward the Satellite and the woman who had raised him.

“Martha, Martha, come look! Someone’s flying over here! They have wings!” a kid shouted, pointing at the sky. Martha ran over and beamed at the young man flying over to her house.Yusei landed gracefully, like he had been flying on angel’s wings all his life, and put Aki gently on her feet. The teen looked around, clinging to Yusei.
“It’s okay. You’ll be safe here,” Yusei assured her. Aki looked up at him. “Martha raised me, you know she has to be a good person to do that.”
Martha beamed wider at the praise and stepped forward. “Any friend of Yusei is allowed to stay here. ‘Specially one who obviously needs a nurturing mother figure. I’ll take care ‘a ya, an’ help set you back on yer feet. But you have to help yourself too, ya hear?” Martha chided, tapping Aki lightly on the head with her ladle. Aki nodded and looked up to Yusei.
“I’ll be staying here with you as much as possible. I have a lot of work to do, since I now have the ability to follow through with the hopes Satellite has in me. I’m going to head back to the city and grab my D-wheel before coming back here. I’m also going to tell Himuro, Yanagi, and the twins that I’ll be going back to the Satellite for awhile, but I’ll keep them in touch,” Yusei said, figuring he should tell her all of his plans so far to keep her from worrying. Aki nodded again. Yusei leaned close to her, “I’ll be back as soon as I can, I promise.”
With that, he took off for the city again, Aki watching him with tears in her eyes. Martha gently guided the girl into the house, hoping Yusei could heal the damage the Arcadia Movement had done to her.
