Saving

Hello again, well I was able to work on this while watching the beginning of the Pharaoh’s Memory series again, aren’t you lucky… so I hope you enjoy, and thank you to the reviewers.

You’re Not Me continued…

Yugi looked up from where he sat beside Isono. The older man had finally dozed off. Seto had gone off to sign some papers, but Yugi wasn’t sure where Yami and Bakura had gone. Without disturbing Isono, Yugi went off in search of a men’s room, he passed the police at the door who were sipping on coffee and barely nodded at him. Down the hall he saw a sign pointing to the toilets and followed it around the corner. There was no one else in there as he went into a stall. As he sat he heard someone come in and use the urinal. They washed up and seemed to be just standing there. Yugi flushed and went out. There was a doctor there, doing something with his eye. Yugi figured it was contacts. He washed up and went to the door, he pulled but it would not open. He kept trying. The doctor turned and came up behind. “Need a hand there?”

“Yeah, it’s stuck,” Yugi said and went to move back. In seconds he found a hand over his mouth and a needle being stuck in his neck. As the doctor leaned down waiting for him to pass out, Yugi saw the name Fujimiya on the name tag, before all went dark for him.

No one paid any notice to the doctor wheeling a wheelchair with a blanket covered patient with a woolen hat over his head. Not even when the doctor jerked past Yami in the hall as if he were surprised to see him.

Yami passed the police who nodded him through. He saw that Isono was dozing and wondered where the others were. He went over to the windows to look into Fuguta’s room. The man was lying on the bed with tubes and lines going every which way, monitors blinking and bleeping, but no one was with him.

Then Seto came in through the doors. “Yami? Where’s Yugi?”

“I don’t know, I just came back in and he wasn’t here.”

Seto turned back to the door, “Have you see Yugi, the little guy with spiky hair like Yami here, only without the blonde spikes?”

“I think he went to the men’s room Mr. Kaiba.”

“How long ago?”

The cop seemed to realize that he’d been gone a while, “Would he have gone to get something to eat?”

“He was told to go nowhere on his own,” said Seto moving off in a rush, Yami right behind him, one of the cops following.

They found the men’s room, but no sign of Yugi.

“Check the floor,” Seto said to Yami who nodded and hurried off, “And you, call security. I want to know where Yugi is. Nothing had better have happened to him!”

-------------------------------------------------------

Bakura took out his cell phone. “What?”

“Bakura, Yugi’s missing.”

“Shit. Didn’t I warn you about this psycho!”

“Just shut the fuck up and help us find him,” shouted Yami. “We’ve searched the hospital, there are police everywhere. The bastard must have gotten him out somehow.”

“He had a doctor’s coat at his apartment. Dr. Fujimiya. Check on that. I don’t suppose you let Yugi wear the puzzle anymore?”

“No, he says it’s too valuable to wear anymore.”

“Damn, I might have been able to trace him with the ring.”

“Bakura, you said he wants to kill Yugi, we’ve got to find them.”

“I know, let me think, I’ll get back to you.” He hung up knowing Yami was probably swearing at him for doing so.

Where would the bastard go if he wanted to kill did he want to kill Yugi? Yugi was Seto’s lover. This guy wanted to be Seto. Seto was going to ask Yugi to marry him… The reception center would be empty now; it was a Tuesday evening, who’d have booked it then?

Bakura got into his car and dialed Yami even as he screamed off down the road at a dangerous speed.

“This guy works at Sahara Receptions, I’m gonna try there.”

“Bakura, don’t endanger Yugi—“ but he’d hung up again.

Kaiba head that, “What? He demanded.

“You have that chopper on the roof?” said Yami.

“Yeah.”

“Come on, Bakura’s going to that psycho’s workplace, Sahara Receptions.”

--------------------------------------------------

Yugi slowly came to. He was lying on something soft, but he could feel that something was tying his hands together. He opened his eyes, also wondering about his clothing, something had changed. He lifted his head and looked down, someone had changed him into something white, and then he could feel something on his head too.

But that was all forgotten when he caught sight of the tall figure not far away, wearing a long black coat, his hair from behind unmistakably Seto’s.

“Seto.” He called.

He turned, Yugi gasped. Even though he was dressed like his lover, his face showed that he was not.

“What is it baby?” The voice had Yugi wanting to sink into the floor, nothing could be farther from Seto’s voice as this guy’s. “Are you finished your nap? I’ve got everything ready, Love. You’ll make a perfect bride; we’ll be in all the papers.”

Yugi’s eyes widened as he realized he was wearing a wedding dress. This was the guy who had hurt Fuguta; this was the guy who wanted to become Seto, by replacing him.

He came closer, “What is it, Love? Don’t be afraid, I won’t hurt you. I love you. You mean everything to me. Once we are married, we’ll go on a trip around the world, see all the special places there are to see, stay in all the best hotels, I can buy you anything you want.” He smiled as he pulled Yugi up by his tied wrists. “You’ll be all mine and no one will ever take you away from me.”

Yugi tried to pull away, he could see the guy was wearing blue contacts and he was scaring him. “No, no, let me go.”

The guy let loose a slap that sent Yugi flying. Then in seconds he was kneeling beside him. “Oh I’m sorry Love. I didn’t mean to hit you so hard, but when you are mine, you will do as I say. I am Seto Kaiba and I’m the one in charge here. As my wife you will do as you are told.”

“I’m not a girl,” said Yugi shaking with the guy’s fast changing moods.

“Yes, you are, I’m not into boys. You will make a beautiful bride; look at the dress I got you, baby.”

Yugi was terrified now; he didn’t know what to do. This guy had to be totally insane.

“Hey Kaiba,” Yugi flinched when the man jumped to his feet to face the speaker. He recognized the voice as Bakura’s.

“Who the hell are you?”

“I’m your wedding planner, remember. I work here.”

“Oh,” he seemed confused, then, “Oh yes you, you’re Brendan Keogh, aren’t you?”

“That’s me, the best in the business. You want to get this started?”

“Started?”

“Yeah, the priest should be here soon, along with the best man, then you can marry your pretty little bride.” Bakura was looking at Yugi and being very serious in his role.

“Oh yeah,” the guy said as he reached for Yugi again. Yugi wanted to pull away, but he saw the faint shake of Bakura’s head in warning. He let himself be pulled to his feet and let the guy arrange the dress around him and straighten the veil. Yugi was shaking, that was one thing he could not stop. “Don’t be afraid. It’ll be over soon.” Yugi only shook harder.

Bakura’s phone rang, “Excuse me, sir. It might be them,” he moved away to answer it while the man hooked a bouquet over Yugi’s bound hands as if they weren’t.

“Look, this psycho thinks he’s Seto and he’s about to marry Yugi. He’s expecting a priest and a best man. I don’t know if he’s carrying anything, but I wouldn’t put it past him to have something. He insists that Yugi is a girl too. So get yourselves into those roles so we can get this guy to let down his guard and we can rescue your Hikari. This guy is dangerous, he’s already hit Yugi, so don’t do anything stupid,” Bakura said into the phone before once again hanging up. He hoped the pair would play along so they could keep Yugi alive.

He turned back and smiled which if it were anyone who knew him, they would be scared. But the psycho seemed to relax. “They’re on their way. Now have you decided where the ceremony is going to take place?”

“The Pyramid Chapel.”

Bakura smiled, “How… fitting.”

The man did not understand but followed as Bakura took the lead. He was dragging Yugi along, not caring that he was doing so.

Bakura lit up the Pyramid Chapel; it was shaped like a pyramid and had hieroglyphics on the walls as well as murals of papyrus and other Egyptian motifs. They moved through the seats and the guy stood holding tightly on to Yugi as they waited. They could all hear the approach of a helicopter.

Yugi kept his eyes on Bakura taking some reassurance that he was there trying to keep him safe from the psycho. However, all that flew out the window when the priest and the best man came in. If the guy recognized either of them, he was sure they’d all be dead soon.

---------------------------------------------

They were disguised of course, probably with shadow magic. Somehow Seto had white hair and his eyes were green, but there was no mistaking how tall he was. Yugi could tell by the way he held himself that he was not happy, and the black priest’s robe clung to his body like a second skin, making the way he moved seem like he was some dark avenging angel. And maybe he was. Beside him walked Yami his eyes glittering dangerously, dark red pools ready to drown the bastard for ever touching his Hikari. The colors of his hair were gone; he had buried them in a bland brown and flat behind his head and down his back.

‘So what the hell are you up to, Bakura?’ said Yami for his ears only.

‘Trying to keep your Hikari alive, so play along until we get an opening, then you two can have him.’

Yami nodded as they came to a stop.

“Gentlemen,” said Bakura bowing slightly to them, “Could you please take your places so that we can start, Mr. Kaiba here is eager to get on with his honeymoon.”

The real Kaiba wanted to move, but Yami put a hand on him holding him still, ‘Wait.’

Seto raised his eyes, Yami had never mind talked to him before, but he took the hint and relaxed a little, he would not endanger Yugi. Still it was hard to see this guy who was dressed like he usually did, had changed his hair to be the same as his and not want to kill him. This was the bastard that had terrorized him for some time, threatening his family, had forced him to drive Yugi from his side, and had hurt Fuguta. He could not stop himself from shaking with the fury inside.

Brendan pulled Yugi next to him and moved to stand in the correct position in the chapel. Seto carefully moved in front of them, his eyes for Yugi, he could see his love’s fear. Yami moved to stand beside Brendan while Bakura moved beside Yugi. Then they all just stood there.

“Well, get on with it,” said Brendan, “Lift up that damn book and start reading, and you can forget about the objection part, there’s no objections here, understand.”

Seto’s eyes narrowed as he lifted the book in his hands, it wasn’t a bible so he didn’t really know what he was going to say.

‘Don’t worry about it rich guy, all he’s got is a knife, let us take care of this,’ said Bakura to Kaiba.

‘Yugi, when Seto says your name, fall down,’ said Yami.

“Dearly beloved, Yugi—“

Yugi collapsed; Bakura grabbed the guy around the neck in a stranglehold. Yami took hold of Yugi and dragged him out of the way. Brendan had pulled the knife out and was about to stab it anywhere he could into Bakura, but Seto grabbed the arm and twisted it until Brendan let go.

Then he was face to face with the bastard, “There is only one Seto Kaiba in this world and that’s me! And you have dared to threaten my family, you have dared to hurt my lover, and you have harmed those I care about.”

Bakura let go of him and let Seto get a good hold of him. Yugi had been helped to his feet and freed from the rope tying his wrists; he then threw himself around Yami and held on for dear life unable to stop the tears. Yami soothed him while he watched what Seto might do to the psycho.

Seto threw the guy to the floor and stood over him, he tried to crawl away but Bakura blocked the way. “You’re not me and you never will be, because I’m going to make sure that you get locked up somewhere close to hell. You threatened to have Yugi raped when you found out what happened to me. Threatening my brother and almost killing Fuguta, trying to take my company from me, all these things mean you will never see the light of day again. I should kill you, or let Bakura kill you, because he’d do it slow and painfully, and I’d just stand there laughing, but,” his eyes strayed over to where Yugi was held in Yami’s arms, “That might have me taken from what I love and I will not be driven away again, from anything.”

Seto turned away from him, “Do what you want with him Bakura, then dump him on the police. I’ll have my lawyers do the rest.”

Bakura sniffed at the guy, “Well, he’s already pissed himself so I think you’ve scared him enough.”

Yami pushed Yugi away and at Seto as he approached, the smaller man was taken into his lover’s arms and hugged tightly.

“No, I’m not through with him yet,” said Yami. Bakura backed off with a smirk as Yami summoned his shadow spell, “Mind Crush!”

The guy grabbed at his head as he screamed before collapsing.

“Now you can drag this piece of shit away.”

Bakura smiled. Yami moved over to join Seto and Yugi.

“Yugi? Yugi, you’re safe now,” said Seto reaching down to cup Yugi’s cheek.

“Now that you and Yami are here, yes. But I’d like to get out of this dress, and I want to know what all this is all about. Who is this crazy guy and what did he do to make you… do what you did to me?”

Seto paled, “That was a stupid mistake, more stupid than anything I’ve ever done, I can see.” His eyes settled on Yami standing close. “If you want to go with him, I’ll understand.”

Yugi looked at both of them, what was he to do. “Despite what you’ve done, I still love you, but… I love Yami too… I always have, I’m sorry.”

Seto nodded, he knew that already. But where would that leave them all now.

“Can we talk about this somewhere else, I really want to get out of this dress, please,” pleaded Yugi.

“Where do you want to go?”

“Home, well home to where my clothes are, then I want to check on Fuguta and Isono, is he still in ICU?”

‘Yes,” Seto’s eyes strayed to where Brendan lay, he belonged there instead. He nodded.

“Then we can talk after that,” said Yugi.

They moved out to the helicopter together, leaving Bakura to drag off the kidnapper to be dealt with.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Yugi was glad to be out of the dress, glad to be in the company of the two he loved more than anything, and then glad to see that Fuguta was improving and was going to recover from the near fatal accident.

Bakura had turned up at the hospital and Yugi went to him and hugged him tight. If it had not been for him he was sure he would not have been able to hold it together. Bakura returned the hug with a smile, he had learned through loving his own Hikari that things could be better if you let them be, and he was glad he had found his heart in loving Ryou.

Then Yugi turned around to see the two loves of his life. He did not want to have to make a choice between them.

“Can we go somewhere and talk?” he said to them.

Seto nodded, and so did Yami, and they followed as Yugi led them out of the ICU and out to a lounge.

Yami sat on one side of a large couch and Yugi made sure that Seto sat on the other.

“Now I understand why you did what you did to me, but it was totally wrong of you. You should have known already that I would have faced any danger with you. Haven’t we been through enough already?” Yugi addressed to Seto, who shamefacedly lowered his face.

He had explained to Yugi while they were in the chopper flying back to a pick up point to take them to the Game Shop, what the whole situation had been about. He’d also had to tell him that he had planned to ask him to marry him on their anniversary day.

“You had to know that pushing me back to Yami would have been a mistake too, you knew that I loved Yami before I fell for you. So the fact that I began to sleep with Yami should not come as a surprise to you.”

Seto shook his head, it was no surprise to him, but now he would have to deal with the consequences.

“And now… now I don’t know what to do. I love you both. I want to be with you both.” He turned away from them, tears streaming down his eyes, there didn’t seem to be a solution to this.

“I told you I’d understand if you went with him,” said Seto.

Yugi turned on him abruptly, angry, “You’re not getting this are you! How can I tear my heart between you both?” He rubbed his hands through his hair, “I’ve been through a lot of bad stuff in the last few years of my life, but this is the worst of it. Don’t ask me to make a choice; I can’t make a choice between you!” And with that he ran to the door and he was out before either of them could rise.

When they did get to their feet, Seto grabbed hold of Yami’s wrist to stop him. “No let him be, this is for us to work out, because if we don’t we could both lose him, and if we did I think it would be forever.”

Yami was so shocked from hearing those words that he stopped still with his mouth open.
