Confrontations

There was a commotion at the front door of the mansion, one of the security people was trying to keep someone out, but Mokuba heard the noise and came to investigate.

“Let me in, I want to see Kaiba,” demanded a deep voice that Mokuba knew well.

“It’s all right Shinji, let him in, I’ll talk to him,” said Mokuba.

The door opened to let in Yami. “I heard that your brother is back, I‘d like to speak to him.”

“Seto’s upstairs with a guest at the moment, I don’t think he wants to be disturbed.”

“I don’t care if he doesn’t want to be disturbed, I want to see him. I want to know if he knows anything about what happened to Yugi.”

“Look here, our guest is not well, Seto’s caring for him, we don’t need you to stir things up.”

“Kaiba, caring for someone other than you?” Yami’s eyebrow rose in disbelief.

“Yes, he is. Why do you all treat him as if he isn’t human? You hurt Yugi or have you forgotten that!”

Yami’s mouth fell open with Mokuba’s vehemence.

Then from the floor above they both heard, “Its okay Mokuba, I can speak to him now.” Kaiba came down the stairs toward them, “Leave us alone for a while will you, Mokuba.”

“Sure Seto,” answered Mokuba and he slowly made his way up the stairs keeping his eyes on the pair until they vanished into the living room to talk.

He went back to his room, but he did not close his door, he wanted to catch his brother on his return so he could find out what happened. He lay on his stomach on his bed with a gaming magazine in front of him. He kept looking towards the door every few minutes or so, but got a real surprise when not his brother, but someone else peeked in to his room, before disappearing.

Mokuba quickly got to his feet to see who it was that had looked into his room, but there was no one in the hall way. He stood there looking about and when he looked towards Seto’s room, he saw the figure again before it vanished back inside. Knowing he really shouldn’t, Mokuba walked to his brother’s room.

“Hello,” he called softly as he got to the open door. He nearly jumped out of his skin when a figure the same height as he tried to move along the wall from beside the door. “Hey, it’s okay; I’m Mokuba, Seto’s brother.”

The person was in the shadows when he stopped, so Mokuba couldn’t see the face.

“Do you want something? Seto’s busy down stairs with… a business associate, but I can get you anything you want.”

The figure did not move.

“Please, I won’t hurt you; whoever you are you’re good for him. More than good.”

The figure wavered and slowly moved away from the wall coming out of the shadows, and Mokuba gasped. The figure stopped and shrank back.

“No, no… Yugi, it’s all right. I just… you surprised me is all. I wasn’t expecting it to be you.”

He moved out of the shadows only a little, enough so Mokuba could see his face again.

“Do you need something, Seto said you were ill.”

Yugi turned his head towards the door with a confused look on his face.

“He’s downstairs like I said, talking to someone.”

He moved back towards the door, but kept his distance from Mokuba.

“You look different, your hair isn’t spiky anymore,” said Mokuba as he watched Yugi move towards the door. He decided to let him do as he wished and did not move.

Yugi managed to get by Mokuba and move out the door again. Keeping his distance, Mokuba followed him. He was moving slowly towards the staircase not looking for anything, more like being drawn to something.

Mokuba trailed him, wondering why he did not answer him. As they neared the staircase they could hear the pair arguing loudly downstairs.

Yugi came to an abrupt halt at the top of the staircase on hearing the noise, but he did not run, something held him in place.

The pair from the living room came storming out their voices raised. Both froze upon seeing the person at the top of the stairs.

Yugi held onto the railing, his hair falling forward to cover his face, but its distinctive colors were what stopped Yami.

“What!” he said.

Seto also stared up.

“Yugi?” continued Yami.

This time he pulled back and started to run back to Seto’s room.

Yami moved, “Yugi!” he cried out.

Seto moved, “Stop it, you don’t understand.”

Yami turned, “You lied to me, you bastard! He was here and you lied.”

Seto stopped as Yami had, a foot away from him. “I didn’t lie. That person doesn’t know who you are, doesn’t really know who I am. His memory is gone. If you want to know how, go and ask Akira, he knows the whole story. Get out of my home now, I won’t let you hurt him any more than you already have.”

“I’m not going anywhere –“ began Yami but the rest of Kaiba’s security force arrived and they were blocking him from going anywhere.

“See him out,” ordered Seto.

The security people surrounded Yami, “I’ll be back Kaiba.”

“I’m sure you will be,” said Seto as he watched them escort Yami out the door.

He looked up to see his brother looking down at him. “So you met our guest.”

“Not funny, Seto. Why didn’t you tell me it was Yugi and that he didn’t know us?”

“Would you have believed me?” he asked as he made his way back up.

“Ah, I suppose not. But Seto, something drew him to come out, it wasn’t because I found him.”

“I have to make sure he’s okay, I’ll talk to you after that.” He walked past his younger brother and hurried on to his bedroom.

He found Yugi buried under the covers of the bed. He approached carefully, not knowing how Yugi would react. Mokuba had said he was drawn to come out, was it because Yami was there? Was he beginning to remember his past?

“Yugi,” he called softly as he sat on the bed, “It’s okay, come out please.”

There was a little movement then Yugi’s head emerged, his eyes were fearful.

“He’s gone, it’s safe now, didn’t I promise to never let anything hurt you again?”

Yugi nodded and came out from under the covers and moved straight into Seto’s arms, clutching onto him tightly. Seto wrapped his arms around Yugi, trying to sooth him, rubbing his hair until Yugi pulled his head back to make eye contact.

“Mokuba said you came out on your own, were you looking for me? Or was it something else?”

Yugi touched his hair and pointed in the direction of downstairs.

“Who was he?”

Yugi nodded.

“He is an old friend of yours. Do you remember him?”

Yugi shook his head.

“But you were drawn to him, weren’t you?”

Yugi nodded.

“You were very close to him once, very close. I can’t explain how close though. “Seto pushed Yugi back a little and took his face in his hands. “Yugi, I went looking for you when others of your friends wanted to know why you disappeared. None of them knew what had happened to you, most had given you up for dead. He, Yami that is, and I didn’t know you were missing for a long time. I learned about it when I returned home after being on tour for a long time. Yami is a champion card player, he endorses my products, we have been very successful. Your best friend forced Yami to look into why you vanished, and that led me into finding you. Does any of this make any sense to you?”

Yugi lowered his head, shaking it sadly.

Seto pulled him back into the hug his chin resting on Yugi’s head. Fleetingly he realised he never did this to anyone except his brother. But he did not want to let go. Yugi raised his head and gently patted Seto’s cheek; he lowered his head until Yugi pressed his lips to Seto’s. The taller deepened the kiss and they soon sank back onto the bed, as passion over took them.

Seto pulled back, “Gods I want you.”

Yugi beamed up at his with one of his room brightening smiles, only to be rewarded with another smile from Seto. He leaned down to take his mouth again, then he pulled back and began to strip off his clothes. Yugi quickly did the same. Then hands and mouths were everywhere, until Seto had reached under the pillows for the tube of lube they had used earlier. He quickly had Yugi ready before sliding inside of him, Yugi’s legs wrapping around him, arms around his shoulders. The need in him had him setting a hard pace as he thrust into Yugi. In his mind he saw images of Yami which made him angry. Yami was not going to take Yugi from him. With the fast pace he did not last long, neither did Yugi, who came first, driving him over the edge as he came with light bursting the images in his mind.

He looked down at the slightly sweaty face below him, leaned down to take his mouth again as he lay still buried inside his lover. When he pulled back he just stared into those beautiful amethyst orbs, while Yugi gently played with his hair and small smile on his face. There were some words playing in Seto’s mind, just wanting to get out, but he closed his eyes against them, he was scared of them.

Unknown to either of them, Mokuba had peeked into Seto’s room after finding the door still ajar. At first he had watched dumbfounded at what his brother was doing to Yugi, having never seen two males having sex before. But when he saw the look on his brother’s face as they were finished he smiled to himself and quickly moved away, his suspicions satisfied. He closed the door and went back to his room, not at all fazed by the happenings he had seen, in fact they made him very happy. Seto was smiling again, something he had thought he would never see again.

Yami came storming into his rooms, his entourage scattering like cockroaches.

“Akira!” he yelled. “Get the hell out here! I know you are here.”

From a side door the man emerged, knowing that Yami knew about Yugi, and he had explaining to do.

“You knew that Kaiba had found him and you didn’t tell me.”

“Ah, yeah. I knew that Yugi had no memory, he’s been through some real bad things, Yami, you’ve got to understand that I was convinced that not telling you was for the best at the time. How did you find out anyway?”

“I saw him at Kaiba’s.”

“Did he know you?”

“No.”

“There, you see. Come and sit down and I’ll tell you what happened.”

They sat together and Akira told Yami about Yugi’s snatching and being shipped to Manila as a sex slave. Of Kaiba confessing to a preference to men and offering to go and see what he could learn, to in fact finding and rescuing Yugi from the brothels he had been sold to. All this had added to the trauma the young man had already gone through, which had all started when Yami had forced him away.

Yami sat in stunned silence throughout all that Akira had to tell him. It had all began from the time he had pushed Yugi away from him, at the time he had only thought he was doing it for Yugi’s good, but it had turned out the complete opposite.

“Yugi loved you, you knew that didn’t you?” asked Akira.

“No, I didn’t see that. Perhaps I didn’t want to see it. I had no idea that leaving him behind would do any of this to him. Why didn’t he tell me back then?”

“From what I’ve been told, you were too full of yourself. You were the King of Games and everybody adored you. You liked being the center of attention, that’s why you still surround yourself with all these people. But now you’re a self centered bastard, and these roaches feed off you as you feed of them.”

“You don’t seem to count yourself as one of them.”

“That’s because I’m not. Kaiba left because he got sick of it all. He was in love with you too, but again you didn’t see that. Now you’re pissed because Seto is in love with what is left of Yugi, and believe me, he’s fallen hard for the kid, but he just can’t seem to want to admit it yet.”

“In love with Yugi?”

“Yeah, real bad. From what I’ve heard he’s never let anyone this close to him except his brother. I could see it at plain as day.”

“I saw Yugi at Seto’s place. His hair is down, not spiky like mine anymore. He looked… lost.”

“Well he was for a long time. From what I can gather it’s going to take a lot of healing on his part before he is ever normal again. Don’t you think it’s time you dumped this lot and stayed here. You have nothing to prove by taking some more time off. No one can beat you anyway, so why continue to try, let some new blood get in, then maybe you’ll have something to play for again. If you love Yugi at all, you’d stay here and be here for him, when the time comes.”

Yami sighed. “It’s been good not having to travel. I’ve liked this break… All right, if you can take care of getting rid of this lot, I’ll look into renting a place to stay. And I’m going to call Joey. He deserves to know that we found Yugi.”

Akira smiled. Now this was something he was going to enjoy. Getting rid of Yami’s entourage was really going to be a pleasure for him.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joey walked into the lobby of the expensive apartment building. He was wondering why Yami had asked to meet him here. He had known the Duellist had been staying at an expensive hotel with his entourage, though he really didn’t want to see them again.

He hurried to the apartment number he had been given and knocked at the door. It was a real surprise when Yami opened up to him.

“Yami. Ah, I‘m here, like you asked.”

“Come in Joey, I’ve got some good news for you,” he began taking Joey’s hand to shake and lead him into the room, “This is Akira, you’ve sort of met him before.”

Joey took the hand of the other man in the living room with Yami.

“Ah hi, nice to meet ya.” He looked around, “Nice place, where’s the rest of your crowd?”

“Gone. There’s just me and Akira here. I’ve decided to take a prolonged break from touring. As Akira pointed out, I have nothing to prove and I have a need to be here for a while.”

“Why’s that?”

“Yugi is here.”

“What! Where?” demanded Joey.

“I think you’d better sit down, Joey. I’ll let Akira fill you in.”

Joey turned to the other man and listened intently to the story he told. Then after it hearing it he turned back to Yami.

“I suppose Seto’s not going to let you back into his place for a while.”

“Akira believes he has fallen in love with Yugi.”

“Really? Seto Kaiba… in love. Now that’s a new one. I never thought he could love anyone but himself.”

“No, he loves him all right. I saw it in his eyes. He did so much to get him back. I believe he lost a lot of money doing so too.”

“Well, I want to see Yugi. Do you think he’ll let me in?”

“No idea, but he’s pretty protective of him, so tread lightly there.”

“I will, so you’ll be staying here?”

“Yes Joey. I want to be able to apologise to Yugi for what I’ve done. So I’m not going anywhere until I can at least do that.”

“Good. This is where you belong you know. He loved you so much, Yami. I know you thought he would be better getting on with his own life, but it was very tied to your’s. He never played again, did you know that?”

“I know that now, Joey. I have much to repair between us. Go to Kaiba’s maybe you will be good for Yugi.”

Joey got up and shaking hands with the pair headed off. He was definitely going to go to Kaiba’s now that he knew where Yugi was. And he was sure that he was not going to let him not see his friend.
