Chapter Six
Fire & Ice – Chapter Six
The first thing Joey was aware of as he woke up was the sharp pains shooting up his spine, although it took him a few minutes to realise what had happened. His eye’s widened and he started twisting his body painfully, trying to make more room in the cupboard, his breathing quickening as he started to panic. He jumped when there was a loud banging on the door.
“You awake boy?” His father called out.
“Y… yes father…” He gasped, “Please l…let me out of h…here.”
He heard the older man laugh cruelly as he begged, “You know, I don’t think I will. I wanna make sure you learn ya lesson.”
Joey was sobbing hysterically now, “P…please dad. I’m s…sorry.”
His father laughed again and Joey heard him stomp off, leaving him alone in the dark.
---
Seto ran down the very, very long hallway quickly, drawn by the sounds of someone screaming… Some one who sounded an awful lot like his puppy.
“JOEY!” He called out, gasping as he reached the door at the end of the corridor.
“HELP ME! SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP!” His puppy called out from inside the room.
Seto noticeably paled as he heard Joey’s pained cries for help and he pounded desperately on the locked door. Whoever was hurting his puppy would pay dearly, no one had the right to hurt what was his and he would put an end to it. His rage peaking he threw himself against the door, making it fall inwards with a resounding crash. The sight that met his eyes made him feel sick to his stomach.
“Kaiba…” Joey whimpered, “Help me.”
Joey was tied facedown to a large bed, his body covered in bruises, cuts and blood. Straddling his waist was a shadowy figure whose features remained vague no matter how much Seto tried to find out who it was. What really had him angry though was the fact that both the unidentified man and his puppy were naked and it was clear what would have happened had Seto not interrupted.
“GET OFF HIM NOW!” Seto yelled, charging at his puppy’s attacker.
“KAIBA. NOOOO!” Joey screamed as the man pulled a knife out from under the blankets and rammed it into Seto’s chest, right up to the hilt.
“Joey…” Seto coughed as his mouth filled with blood and he collapsed onto the bed.
“Seto… no.”
“SHUT UP WHORE. QUIT YOUR CRYING!”
Seto watched helplessly as the larger man thrust himself into Joey’s writhing body, repeatedly slamming into him until he finally cried out in climax and filled the sobbing puppy with his release.
“That’ll teach you son.” He growled, pulling out and stalking out of the room.
Not knowing what else to do, Seto weakly crawled across the bed and curled up next to Joey, his breathing slowing down until death claimed him.
---
“JOEY!”
“Calm down big brother,” Mokuba said soothingly, “You just had a nightmare is all.”
Seto looked around and remembered where he was and what had happened, although it did little to relieve his worry about Joey. He knew what his puppy’s father was capable of and if his suspicions were correct, as they often were, then Joey could be in real danger.
“Ah, Mr Kaiba. You’re awake.” The doctor said cheerfully as he walked into the room, smiling brightly.
Seto was in no mood for this and stared back coldly, “I wish to leave now.”
“I’m sorry Mr Kaiba, but you haven’t fully recovered yet. A few more nights and then we’ll see.”
“You will sign my release papers or I’ll make sure you never work as a doctor again.” He growled.
“But Mr Kaiba…” The doctor was shocked, “You need to rest.”
“I can rest just fine at home. Now do I have to tell you again?”
“No sir, I’ll just go do the paperwork now.” He backed out of the room quickly.
Mokuba sighed and helped his brother get dressed, a difficult job due to his cast and bandages, “That was mean Seto. Why do you want to leave so badly?”
Leaning heavily on his crutches Seto looked at his little brother’s worried expression, “It’s… complicated. I have to get to Joey before something happens to him.”
Mokuba looked confused as he followed his brother out of the room and to the waiting limo out the front, his brother ordering the driver to take them to Joey’s house. Seto seemed very concerned about Joey but he could not think of any reason for this, his brother hadn’t even seen the blonde since he woke up. Perhaps this had something to do with his nightmare, scaring him into believing Joey was in danger. Mokuba’s eyes widened when he saw Seto pull a gun out from a hidden drawer under his seat.
“Seto! What are you doing?” He exclaimed.
“I’m going to save Joey from his bastard of a father.” The brunet growled angrily.
“First could you please tell me what’s going on? You’re starting to freak me out!”
Seto’s expression softened when he noticed the worried look on Mokuba’s face, “A while back I did some research on Joey, way back when I first… developed feelings for him. I discovered that his father is extremely abusive and that he has put his son in hospital on numerous occasions. I am worried because he actually took the time to come and get Joey from the hospital, normally he wouldn’t care.”
“I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have let him take Joey away.” Mokuba gasped.
“It’s fine, you didn’t know.”
“But still…” Mokuba trailed off as the limo pulled to a stop, “Please be careful big brother, you’re not even fully healed yet.”
Seto shakily exited the limo, “I know Mokuba, and I promise I’ll rest once I bring Joey home, but I can’t leave him here with that… monster any longer.”
Mokuba anxiously watched his brother limp into the apartment complex, hiding his gun in his jacket as he walked. He hoped his brother could get Joey out of there, but he wished he didn’t have to do it while he was so badly injured. If something went wrong then he could end up losing his brother. However, Mokuba knew why Seto needed to do this, he was always very protective of those he loved, and Joey was included in that category. Mokuba sighed and slumped down in his seat, his hands clasped together tightly. Thinking quickly he pulled out his cell phone and dialled the number of his big brother’s personal doctor, telling her to meet them at the mansion. Even if Joey was okay he knew his brother would still need to be checked over when he returned.

AN: It’s short innit. Sorry about that but I’m starving and sleep deprived right now so that’s all I could write. Hopefully the next chapter should be up very shortly.
