Unspoken

Yami sighed as he arrived back home after the memorial service for Joey. It was still difficult to believe the blond was dead, it had all happened so quickly. Less than a week had passed since Yugi disappeared and in that short amount of time everything had been turned upside down.

“Yugi.” Yami whispered.

Just as he sat down the phone rang and he quickly jumped up to answer it.

“Hello?”

“Y… Yami…” a weak voice said.

“Yugi! What’s going on?”

“Hello Yami.” Another voice said.

“DUKE! LET ME SPEAK TO YUGI!” Yami yelled.

“Now why would I do that when you’re being so rude?”

“What do you want?”

“I want you to suffer.” He laughed sadistically, “I’ll put Yugi back on now, he has something to ask you.”

“Yami…?”

“Aibou, what’s he done to you?”

“Is it true Yami?”

“Is what true?”

“Do you love me?”

“Of course I do Yugi.”

“I mean, do you love me… like that?”

“Yes, I do. I didn’t want to tell you like this.”

“I know what you mean.” Yugi paused, “I’m scared Yami. What if I never see you again?”

“You will Aibou. I’m going to get you out of there.”

“I love you so much Yami.”

“I love you too Yugi.”

“Tell Kaiba I’m sorry about Joey.”

“Of course.”

“I… I have to go now.”

“I will find you Aibou.”

“Bye Yami.”

“Goodbye Yugi.”

“Well that was just beautiful.” A sarcastic voice said.

“Don’t you dare touch him again Duke.”

“Why’d you have to love him Yami!?” he snapped, “What’s so great about him? He isn’t even a real man, just a fucking midget.”

“It isn’t Yugi’s fault that I love him.”

“Who’s fault is it then? Yours?” Duke laughed, “In that case it’s also your fault that he’s suffering right now.”

Yami scowled when he realised Duke had hung up on him, “Son of a bitch.”

“Oh no.” Tea gasped as they approached Yugi’s house.

“What is it Tea?” Tristan asked.

“Look, there’s another package.”

“Damn!” He looked at his watch, “Oh shit. Uh, I have to go Tea.”

“What!” she screeched, “Where?”

“I just have… things to do.”

She narrowed her eyes but he’d already taken off down the street.

“Hello Tea.” A voice said from behind her.

“Hey Mokuba. Hello Kaiba.”

Seto merely nodded in acknowledgement and proceeded to knock on the door. A few seconds later Yami opened it.

“Kaiba.” He said.

“Yami.”

“I… got a call from Duke.”

“Oh.”

“Yugi says he’s sorry about Joey.”

There was a long awkward silence, which Tea broke, “There’s another package Yami.” She held it out.

“Son of a bitch.” He growled.

“I must say you and the slut put on a very good show.” Duke said to the blond who was currently sucking him off.

“What would your precious Seto say if he saw that I wonder?”

“Please leave Joey alone.” Yugi whimpered from the bed.

Duke ignored him, “I guess we won’t have to wonder for long. I sent him a copy of the tape.”

Joey pulled his head away from Duke and looked at him with wide eyes, “What!”

“You heard me dog. I sent a copy of you fucking Yugi to your boyfriend, slightly modified of course.”

“No. You’re lying.”

“Oh really. Well, unknown to Yami I’ve had hidden camera’s place in his house. Would you like to watch?”

“You sick twisted bastard.”

“I’ll take that as a yes.” He turned on a small TV and Yugi’s living room came into focus.

“Hello Seto.” Duke’s voice said as he appeared on Yugi’s TV, “I suppose by now you know that Joey is dead.”

Seto growled and clenched his hands into fists.

“And I’m probably right in guessing that you aren’t to happy about this.”

“How perceptive. Of course I’m not happy.” He snarled, even though he was unaware that Duke could hear him.

“He did have a rather fun time while he was here though. He and the little whore make a cute couple.”

Yami’s eyes widened at the implication, “He’s lying.”

“I don’t expect you to believe me so I am going to show you the proof. Unfortunately there is no sound but the film pretty much explains it all.”

“YOU BASTARD!” Joey screamed, “YOU DAMNED SON OF A BITCH!”

“What’s happening Joey? I can’t see the TV.” Yugi asked.

The film that Yami, Seto, Mokuba and Tea were watching made it look like he and Yugi were making love and without sound they could not tell that it was forced.

“Joey…?”

“Well now,” Duke said, “That wouldn’t have looked good to your boyfriends. How could you betray them like that?”

“Seto won’t believe it. He trusts me.” Joey scoffed.

“Seeing is believing dog.”

“I don’t believe it. This is some kind of trick.” Tea said softly.

“WHEELER!” Seto roared, “YOU TWO-TIMING BITCH!”

“Kaiba, I’m sure there’s some reasonable explanation for this.” Yami said.

“Did you not see the tape Yami? He… he…” Seto blinked furiously as his eyes filled with tears.

“What about you Yami? Yugi betrayed you.” Mokuba said.

“I have faith in my Aibou. I will not jump to conclusions.”

“Then you are a fool.” Seto said, dragging Mokuba from the house.

“SETO!” Joey sobbed, “I’M SORRY. I LOVE YOU!”

“Shout all you want dog, he can’t hear you.”

“What happened Joey? Is Yami angry with me too?”

“No Yuge, he said he has faith in you.” Joey looked down.

“Don’t worry about Seto, he just needs some time to cool off. You know what he’s like.”

“That’s irrelevant cause you’re never going to see him again.”

Just then the door opened and Duke’s partner in crime entered the room.

“What are you doing here?” Duke asked.

“This has got to stop. The plan won’t work, it’s just making Seto harder to reach then before. No matter how hard I try I can’t get through to him.”

“You little bitch.” He snarled, “How dare you back out now!”

“This is wrong. You manipulated me into helping you. You told me this would make Seto love me but I realise now he already does love me. He loves me and he loves Joey. I’m gonna put a stop to all this right now.” He turned and ran out of the room.

“GET BACK HERE YOU PIECE OF SHIT!” Duke screamed, trying to chase after him.

“Oh no you don’t.” Joey said, holding him back.

“LET ME GO YOU FILTHY DOG!” He thrashed around trying to break free, “YOU’LL PAY FOR THIS!”

“Run like the wind Mokuba.” Joey whispered as he felt Duke struggle out of his grip.
