Chapter 6

Well here it is the end. Hope you all like. Oh and also keep an eye out for my alternate ending as
I had two for this fic but couldn’t bring myself to write just one.

Chapter 6

~One week later at Kibo’s new Home~

She was right she was not a one nighter. She was more like an every night as much as they could. She was waiting for him to come home now. He had been gone for the whole day already and she had a feeling he was causing trouble with the pharaoh again.
It made her nervous every time he left. What if he was caught and killed. What would she do? She didn’t want to live without him. She shook her head of all bad thoughts and took to
standing by the window were she could see nothing and no one else in sight.
The house she was in was pretty secluded and boring. Did she dare to try and venture out side? She sighed. The whole week she was there she had not seen one person so why shouldn’t she go have a look around. With that thought in her head she pulled on her saddles and left the confines of hers and Bakura’s house.
It was mostly old run down houses around her. She searched inside them and around
them slowly so to pass the time. Hen she heard voices. And not just any voices. Voices that
sounded like the Pharaohs guards. Panic stricken she kid next to a window to listen closer.
“If Bakura is anywhere it might as well be here.” Said one. She bit her tongue they were
getting closer and she had no where to run. She went to the back side of the house and found the
back exit and walked right into the Priest Seth(or is it Seto?) on her way out. She jumped in
surprise as he seized her.
“Going somewhere?” He said as two more guards came around the corner. And took
hold of both her arms. “Were’s Bakura?” He said menacingly.
“I don’t know.” She replied knowing he would not believe her.
“I’ll ask again. Where is Bakura?” She stayed quite. There was nothing she could say to make him believe her. So instead the priest ordered the guard to take her back to the palace.

~Pharaohs Palace~

Kibo found herself bowed before the Pharaoh in chains. “Where is Bakura.” Indeed she
had no idea where he was and only when they resorted to reading her mind with the millennium
eye did they believe her. “And if you did?” Pharaoh asked her when she once again replied that
she did not know where Bakura was.
“Your highness. If you loved someone dearly and they were in trouble and could face
death. Would you turn them in?” Kibo said simple looking right into the Pharaohs face. His face
was soft he felt sorry for her.
She was in love with a man who was about to be her death. “I am right here Pharaoh.”
Bakura’s voice rang in the chamber and he entered with a weak looking smirk on his face. She
couldn’t bring herself to look at him. She had not stayed where he had told her too and now they
would both pay. But why was he there at all. He could have just left her to her death and got
away. All these things confused her and her heart melted and she smiled as for the first time she
realized what he would never say.
“We shall duel Pharaoh, you and I. Only this time I will win.” Bakura said the Millennium
Ring hanging from his neck. The Pharaoh narrowed his eyes obviously remembering the last duel
they had when Bakura had paraded in with the mummified body of his father.
“I’m afraid I can’t allow that to happen.” The Pharaoh said shaking his head and standing accepting the challenge. Kibo was standing in her chains watching Bakura fight a hopeless battle for both their lives. A battle she hoped he’d win and at the same time knew he wouldn’t.
The battle lasted quite a while before the pharaoh called upon his Egyptian god and blew
Bakura’s monster away along with Bakura. It was over. Everything was still including his body.
Kibo yanked her chains free of the guards holding them and the Pharaoh raised his hand to let her
go.
She turned Bakura over and he was smirking. “Looks like I lost.” He said coughing
licking the blood from his lip.
“We both lost.” She smiled at him. “I love you Bakura. And I’ll follow you were ever
you go in the next world. I’ll be reborn just to find you again. I’m sure of it. The match maker
she was half right. I would fall into the arms of darkness but she was wrong also. I did find real
happiness.” She moved a finger over his cheek. She bent to kiss his lips and felt the letter L form
there right before he fell limp in her arms and took his last breath.
She let him go and touched the millennium and then stood and walked right for the
Pharaoh with the ring in her hands. The Pharaoh held a hand up to stop anyone who was about to
grab her and she handed him the ring. “You win.” She said. “And one day when you find real
love. You’ll understand why I did all that I did. You’ll understand how it feels.” She smiled and
bent before him.
He wanted to let her go but it was law that she must die and so he moved back as one of
the guards stepped up with his curved sword and right before the sword hit her she thought to
herself ~We will meet again.~

~Present day: Domino City~

Yami Bakura stood out side Domino highschool. He really didn’t feel like letting his
Hikari take over so that he could go to school. Instead he stood there watching as the bell rang.
“Excuse me?” He turned looking into big green eyes. He stepped back. Whoever it was
had no respect for personal space. He took notice of the girls rather long silver hair and school
uniform. “This is Domino Highschool? Right?” He nodded not sure what to really say. “I’m
new. Just transferred from Egypt actually. You got a name or are you just gonna glare?” She
asked teasingly.
“Bakura.” He muttered wishing she’d go away but watching her all the same beneath
dropped eyelids.
“Hope.” She extended her hand and smiled. “Nice to meet you.” Looking wearily down
at her hand he coincided into shaking it and felt a shock run over him like he knew her already.
She took advantage of having a hold of his hand and ran toward the school with him getting pulled
with her. “Come on we’ll be late.” She said laughing as they entered the building.

The end!

Hope you like. And as I said there is an alternate ending for this story. But here a song that kinda
reminded me of my fic. Its from Final Fantasy 9.

Melodies of Life

Alone for a while I've been searching through the dark
For traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart
To weave by picking up the pieces that remain
Melodies of life--love's lost refrain

Our paths they did cross, though I cannot say just why
We met, we laughed, we held on fast, and then we said goodbye
And who'll hear the echoes of stories never told?
Let them ring out loud till they unfold

In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out to me
Though you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name

* A voice from the past, joining yours and mine
Adding up the layers of harmony
And so it goes, on and on Melodies of life,
To the sky beyond the flying birds--forever and beyond

So far and away, see the bird as it flies by
Gliding through the shadows of the clouds up in the sky
I've laid my memories and dreams upon those wings
Leave them now and see what tomorrow brings
In your dearest memories, do you remember loving me?
Was it fate that brought us close and now leaves me behind?

Repeat *

If I should leave this lonely world behind
Your voice will still remember our melody
Now I know we'll carry on Melodies of life
Come circle round and grow deep in our hearts
As long as we remember
