Chapter 5
Cast the First Stone
Mally-chan & hatochiisai YAOI WARNING Disclaimer: We do not own Yugioh. Hato does own Mikado and Ahmose, though. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Chapter 5 *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*A cold wet nose snuffling in his ear was what woke Ryou. Ryou swatted at the offending nose. "stop thaaaat!" he whined covering his head with his blankets. Marik let out an amused yip and poked his head under the blankets, licking Ryou's face. Ryou squrimed and swatted Marik with his pillow. "Marriiiiik!" Marik bounced around, seizing the pillow and tugging on it, tail wagging. Ryou whined sitting up and yawning. "Do you have to be so hyper?" Marik yapped again, siezing the blankets this time and pulling them off of the bed before tackling Ryou. But then came a knock on the door. Marik perked and turned, and a moment later, Malik walked in. Ryou yelped and snapped the blankets over himself and glared at Marik. "MARIK!" Malik sighed. "Yami's mother is dead." He said softly. "It's all over the Vatican. Yami has been crowned King." Ryou blinked. "Oh...poor Yami!" he gasped. "Is he ok?" Malik shrugged. "Ahmose is very worried. He says that the Queen, her chosen, and half of the court were killed by a single creature in under an hour. He's afraid it will come after Yami." Ryou stared. "Oh wow..." he shook his head. "That's just awful...." he shivered. "What could have done such a thing?" "That's what Ahmose wants to find out." Malik said. "but as you can imagine, he's reluctant to leave Yami's side to investigate right now. Word was just sent to the Council that the coronation went smoothly." "Well that's good I guess." Ryou said smiling. "We should all help the Vatican to figure out what killed Yami's parents." Marik nodded, changing. "Agreed..."
"Ahmose talked to Bakura, and Bakura is going to try to locate the remaining Timeless." Malik continued. "And the Vatican is looking into demons who have the power to have done it." Ryou smiled. "Well as soon as Malik leaves I can get up and help them search." Malik raised an eyebrow, then snickered. "Marik... leave the kid alone." He said. "Let poor Ryou get dressed. They have sausage down at breakfast." He said, and Marik yelped, then changed to his human form, threw on his clothes and ran from the room. Ryou sighed and shook his head as Malik left as well. He dressed then hurried to catch his lover before he ate ALL the good food! Malik was sitting next to Marik with an amused smirk as the werewolf inhaled everything in sight. Malik turned and smiled at Ryou, holding up a plate piled in food. "Saved some for you." Ryou smiled. "Thanks." He sat down and began eating politely. "Mikado is gone, too." Malik said. "I know. He went to see Bakura." Ryou said between bites. "Trying to patch up their relationship." Malik blinked. "Oh?" Ryou nodded proudly. "Yeah, he came to talk to me. I suggested trying to seduce him at home, where you and Marik cant walk in on him, and he went running." Ryou took another bite. "I wonder how he's doing..." Malik blinked, and Marik stopped, turning and looking over. Then, both began snickering. Ryou glared. "You both should be ashamed!" They looked at Ryou, then burst out laughing. Many heads turned to stare at them.
"Oh God, it was so FUNNY!!!" Marik howled. "Especially when Bakura asked him what was on his ass!!!"
"He has a cute ass, too!!!" Malik laughed. "Glad I got to see it on display!!!" Ryou glared and growled. "You two are NOT helping their already rocky relationship!" he howled furiously. "Marik you're not getting any until they're happy again!" *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Yami was the first to awaken in the morning, as poor Ahmose had gone two days without sleep. Yami smiled slightly and nuzzled Ahmose, deciding to let his lover sleep. He got out of bed and stretched, once dressed he headed to the dining room for breakfast. He asked the maids to help him carry some food to his room, and when Ahmose awoke, it was to breakfast in bed. Ahmose blinked, confused. "What's this?" He asked, looking a bit baffled, and his hair was a mess. "Breakfast. I think it's french toast." Yami offered. Ahmose blinked. "Oh. Um... okay..." He said, starting to munch. "How are you feeling this morning?" "Ok...you?" Ahmose blinked. "... I think a bath is in order after I eat..." Ahmose grumbled, scratching his head and pulling his fingers through his hair until they were snarled in tangles. Yami nodded. "Anything you want. You're the king's lover hmm?" he said grinning. Ahmose raised an eyebrow. "But YOU are the King." "Yes, and you're my lover." Yami said flicking his tail. "Which makes you kinda like the queen." Ahmose blinked, then gave Yami a look. "Don't call me that again." "What? QUEEN?" Yami snickered. "Shut the fuck up." Ahmose snapped, glaring. "Awww... is queenie on the rag?" Yami teased laughing. Ahmose growled, eyes beginning to glow and a breeze swirling through the room. Yami yelped and scrambled away, laughing. His heart was finally beginning to heal if he was playing childish games with Ahmose. Ahmose smirked and lifted a hand. Purple cords shot out of the walls, floors and cieling, wrapping around Yami's limbs and hauling him off of the ground until he was supsended about two feet in the air, spread eagle. Ahmose chuckled. "Hmmmm..." He mused, drinking his orange juice and standing. He was still wearing the pants from last night that left his hips bare, but other than that he wasn't wearing anything. He walked over to Yami and circled him, passing right through the cords. Yami grinned and his tail curled contently. "Aww c'mon Ahmose, you're not mad at me." he purred. Ahmose just snorted, still circling and looking Yami and down. Yami struggled a bit. "What are you looking for?" "Hmmmm..." Ahmose mused. "That's for me to know and you to find out." He said, trailing his fingers over Yami's body as he circled him. Yami shivered and his tail curled around Ahmose's wrist. "Ohh...am I getting a surprise breakfast too?" he asked hopefully. "Ah!" Ahmose scolded, slapping Yami's tail. "Stop that." He said. Yami yelped and his tail jerked away curling up to his mouth. "ouch.." he pouted kissing his poor tail. Ahmose snorted. "Oh, don't be a baby." He snickered, snatching the tail and curling it around his fingers, watching the thing in mild fascination. The tip of Yami's tail twitched irritably as he squirmed. "stoooop! You know I hate it when you play with my tail like that!" Ahmose chuckled, but he didn't let go. "Yes I do... but I like to play with your tail. And I think I have the right to play with your tail." And he stood in front of Yami and stared him in the eyes. "After all... your tail likes to play with me..." That sent a shiver down Yami's spine, that Ahmose could feel even in the tip of his lover's tail. "No fair..." Ahmose chuckled. "You're shivering..." He said, gently tracing a finger down Yami's tail. Yami let out a breath another shiver traveling down his tail with Ahmose's finger. "ahh!" Ahmose grinned at that. "Hmmmm... quite a reaction." He said, looking up at Yami, amused. "Wonder what else could get that kind of reaction...?" Yami closed his eyes and relaxed, though his tail was twitching in Ahmose's fingers. "You're playing dirty..." "You haven't seen 'playing dirty' yet..." Ahmose hissed, smirking and releasing Yami's tail. He narrowed his eyes and they flashed, and all of a sudden all of the seams on Yami's clothes came undone, and they fell apart completely. Yami's eyes widened. "The maids are going to be pissed at you for that..." Ahmose chuckled. "They'll live..." He said, trailing a finger down the center of Yami's chest and belly and stopping about three inches below his navel. "... Hmmm..." Yami squirmed slightly tail once again curling around Ahmose's wrist. "Stop teaasiiiinnng!" Ahmose looked down at the tail, then grabbed it with his other hand and firmly removed it, watching as it curled around THAT wrist instead. Ahmose smiled, but didn't let go of his tail. Instead, with his free hand, he grabbed Yami's goods. Yami yelped and his tail twitched and tightened around Ahmose's wrist. "Ahmooooose!" "Hmmm?" Ahmose asked, stepping closer to Yami's suspended body. Yami shivered again and leaned forward snatching a kiss from Ahmose. "Hmm?!" Ahmose yelped, jumping back, startled. Yami purred and his tail let go of Ahmose's wrist, wrapping around his waist and pulling him close. "W-Whah?! Hey!" Ahmose howled, trying to get Yam's tail off of him. Yami grinned and shook his head. "Nuh uh. I'm not letting you tease me." Ahmose stopped squirming and gave Yami a look. Well... his mother had been right about one thing... Yami certainly didn't like to be the submissive, nor the one who was not in control. Ahmose smirked. He wasn't giving Yami control THIS time. He had to learn the other side of the equation eventually... right? Yami growled softly and kissed Ahmose again. "I love you." Ahmose smirked. "I know." He said, laying his hands on Yami's waist and running his hands down his waist and thighs. Yami shivered and his tail slipped slyly into Ahmose's pants. Ahmose's eyes widened. "Hey!" He yelped, and smacked it. Yami yelped as well, his tail jerking out of the pants, but still remained coiled around Ahmose's waist. "Watch it! That smarts!" Ahmose snickered. "Behave yourself, Atemu..." Ahmose said, running his fingers up the backs of Yami's legs, over his backside and up his back to the base of his wings. Yami let out a slight yelp and his wings quivered. Not often was attention paid to the appendages. Ahmose chuckled. "Oooh... have I found a sensitive spot?" He asked, massaging the areas where his wing joints met his back. Yami squirmed and whimpered his wings spreading to give Ahmose better access to the joints. "Ahh! Ahh!" another shiver trailed down his spine and into his tail. Ahmose grinned. "I do beleive I have..." He hissed, and began rubbing Yami's back around the wings, and just up the base of the arm of the wing. Yami groaned and his wings quivered at the attention. "Hnnn...." Ahmose bowed his head, kissing Yami's chest gently, before running his tongue up to the demon's collar bones... Yami shivered as a soft moan escaped his lips. His tail loosened around Ahmose's waist as he began squirming. "Hnn...s'not fair..." Ahmose chuckled, turning his head and gently licking Yami's left nipple. "You really wish to protest?" Yami groaned and struggled a bit more. "hnnn..." His aura flared in protest of his position. 'not like this..' Ahmose blinked. "Huh?" He asked, nipping Yami's chest. Yami squirmed more. "Stoooop." he whined squirming more. He didn't like being out of control, especially in situations like this. Ahmose looked up at Yami, furrowing his brows in confusion. "Hm?" Yami squirmed more. "hnn, you're cheating!" Ahmose raised an eyebrow, curling his fingers into Yami's hair and pulling his head down for a kiss. Yami kissed Ahmose and squirmed more, wanting to hold his lover. 's'not fair...' 'What's not fair?' Ahmose asked softly, kissing his demon lover. 'You know I hate being submissive....especially since...' Yami cringed and whimpered. Ahmose froze, then jerked away. "Yami..." He gasped, eyes wide. A moment later, the cords disappeared, dropping Yami. Yami's wings wrapped aroung himself and he gave Ahmose a small smile. "It's ok Ahmose...it just...makes me uneasy is all." he said softly. Ahmose swallowed thickly, looking down. "... I'm sorry..." He breathed. "It was so long ago, I... I didn't think, I..." Yami inched closer to Ahmose and nuzzled him. "It's ok Ahmose." he said offering a smile of reassurance. "I dont blame you at all...It's just harder for me to forget..." he held up his hand, the small crystals glowed softly. "Since I carry pieces of it with me..." Ahmoe blinked, but then scowled and seized Yami's wrist, growling. He held out his hand, and a moment later a knife materialized in it. Yami yelped and jerked his hand away. "Hell no!" he howled. "You're NOT going to cut my hand open!" Ahmose whirled and pounced. "Yes I am! I am getting them out of you! Like I should have done years ago!!!" Yami yelped and teleported away. "NO! That'll hurt!" he yelped from his new perch on the bed. A moment later, the purple cords were back, tying him down to the bed. Ahmose walked over. "That evil entity came out of the amulet. I don't want to think it could hurt you because of those things!" Yami growled at Ahmose and snapped at the cords, snapping a few and struggling loose. "NO!" he roared. "NO means NO!" Ahmose snorted and sat on Yami's chest. "It's for the best!" He insisted, and cut into Yami's palm. Yami howled in pain and lunged forward biting Ahmose's arm and clawing the knife from his hand, tail coiling tightly around Ahmose's neck and forcing his face into the bed. Ahmose yelped and turned his head to see Yami's hand. A moment later, his fingernails sharpened into long three inch claws. He dug them into Yami's hand, digging for the shards. Yami howled and jerked his hand away. He disappeared and the next thing Ahmose saw, was a black mouse scurrying into the wall, a small trail of blood behind it. Ahmose whirled. "Hey!!!" He snapped, and went after Yami. The cords sprung up againg, forming a cage over the mouse. However Yami chewed through and darted in the crack in the wall, escaping Ahmose, and his cords. Ahmose growled, and a moment later a black snake slithered after the mouse. Inside the crack, there was a long path going left and right....and no mouse to be seen. Ahmose flicked his tongue, tasting the air and searching for Yami's scent. Meanwhile, in Yami's old bedroom.
Yami was dressed once more (he learned a long time ago to dress fast to escape humans...
He darted out of the room and down the main stairs. "GREG! I'M GOING OUT!" he called as he ran past and out the palace doors, wrapping his hand in bandages as he went. About half an hour, a fully dressed Ahmose found Greg.
"Have you seen Yami?" He asked. "Oh yeah... he left the palace about thirty minutes ago...he seemed to be in a big hurry, so I didn't question him." Greg said shrugging. "Why? Ahmose blinked then rolled his eyes. "Great. Any idea where he would have gone?" Greg smirked. "Nope." Ahmose glared. "You do too. Spill it. There could be an assassin out there!" "It depends on what he was running from. Work, physical pain, lessons, responsibility..." Greg said after a moment. Ahmose blinked, then sighed. "... Physical pain." He grumbled, scowling. "Ohh good choice." Greg snickered. "He's probably at the marketplace shopping among the crowds then." Ahmose snorted and left the palace then, heading for the market place. Greg had been right. Yami was casually strolling around looking at shops and carrying a small bag. He grinned and bought some odd looking fruit and paid calmly. Ahmose raised an eyebrow and watched him, leaning against a wall. Yami looked absolutely blissful. He took his time shopping, before sitting on a bench under a tree and beginning to munch on the fruit he'd bought. Ahmose sighed and walked up behind Yami. He didn't touch him, but embraced him with his aura. Yasi jumped and nearly choked. "Ahh Oh gods you found me!" he jumped off the bench and backed away clutching his bag. "Damnit Greg!" he howled. Ahmose just stared at Yami, silently. Yami pouted and gave him a nervous look. "You leave my hand alone." Ahmose sighed. "If I make something to... numb it... will you let me remove the shards?" "No." Yami bared his teeth. "Leave it alone!" Ahmose frowned. "Why? If it's numb it won't hurt." "You're NOT cutting into my hand!...well, not MORE! You're supposed to protect me, not maim me!" Ahmose raised an eyebrow at that, though many were staring now, horrified. "I did NOT maim you, stop being so dramatic." "You pulled a knife on me and cut open my HAND!" Yami howled. "I said NO!" Ahmose winced at all the gasps around them. They were attracting far too much attention. "... Let's go home and discuss this." Yami growled and shook his head. "I'm shopping." Ahmose blinked. "... For what?!" "...new buckles." "....... you have GOT to be kidding me." Yami reached into his bag and pulled out a new wristband, which sported a large buckle, and studs. "Isn't it nice?" Ahmose blinked. "Uh... yeah. Sure." He snickered. "Goes with the one around your neck!" Yami blinked and looked down at the chain collar. "....no it doesn't." he said after a minute. "This one is CLEARLY metal." he pointed to the collar. "While this little buckle here is leather with a steel clasp." Ahmose sighed. "Whatever you say. Come on, now... let's go home." "No." Yami said again. "I'm not done." Ahmose rolled his eyes. "Fine, fine..." Yami snorted and plopped back down, this time on a bench across the street and went back to eating his fruit. Though the crowd continued to stare at Ahmose suspiciously. Ahmose rolled his eyes and walked over to Yami. "You're acting childish." He said. "You're acting like Mr.Stabby." he growled, scowling. Ahmose gave Yami a look. "Very funny. Next time, if you're gonna leave, take me with you. Your mother's killer is still out there." Yami snorted. "Right now I'm more worried about you maiming me." he grumbled. Ahmose gave an exapserated sigh. "I am NOT going to MAIM you!!!" He cried, sitting down next to Yami. Yami growled loudly at him. "Tell that to my hand, which is STILL sore and bleeding from your little knife-happy attack!" Ahmose snorted. "It will be fine in a few days.” "It woulda been fine NOW if you hadn't gone all... APESHIT on me." Yami growled nuzzling his sore hand and glaring. Ahmose sighed. "Fine... I know. I'm sorry..." He mumbled. "I guess I'm just feeling paranoid..." Yami growled again, snorting and going back to his food, tail lashing. Even his aura was pushing slightly at Ahmose's in irritation. Ahmose sighed and looked down, closing his eyes lightly and just... sitting. Yami ate calmly as the crowd finally began dispersing. But Ahmose could hear as clearly as Yami. They were whispering about how the new king had troubles with his lover. Apparently 'that human' had tried to attack their sovereign. Ahmose just snorted lightly, ignoring it all. But he was thinking... would Yami's mother enter his dreams again and deafen him with her screaming? Yami blinked as he ate. His mind was clouded with his troubles...
Suddenly the king stood and trotted off, leaving his precious things behind. Ahmose blinked, startled. He stood, grabbing Yami's abandoned purchases and followed. Had Ahmose not attacked Yami's hand the bandages wouldn't be covering the glow of the shards in his lover's hand as the crystals urged Yami forward, the king in a daze.
Yami walked down the streets at a quick pace, entering one of the many buildings and disappearing before Ahmose could catch up. Ahmose looked around, frantically. "Dammit..." He hissed, and pulled out a pendulum. "Yami!" He gasped, and after spinning a bit, the thing pointed. Ahmose followed. But Yami was nearly a mile away, thanks to the teleportation he was able to use. He stood before a larger demon, who was smirking. The demon wasn't as humanoid as Yami was. No, in this form he was more of a gargoyle, not to say he couldn't be human...but in this realm it was best to hide his true form. Any demon would recognize him if he revealed himself for what he was.
"Hello pretty little Atemu..." the demon purred smirking, razor claws glinting in the moonlight. "It's good to see that you've come all this way just to see me..." he lifted Yami's chin and looked into the clouded crimson eyes. "I originally intended to kill you..." the demon hissed. "But I suppose I do owe you my thanks, for damaging that amulet enough to free me. Even though it was your ancestors that imprisoned me." The demon's tail lashed. "But oh how the tables have turned..." he lifted Yami's hand and smiled wickedly.
"You don’t even know the power I have over you..." he let the hand drop. "Listen to me little Atemu...never let your chosen remove these shards from your hand..." he hissed. The jewels glowed and Yami nodded slowly. "Your rule will fail...but for now..."
The demon disappeared, leaving Yami standing in the town square garden in a gazebo. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Good evening." Fei Long said when Bakura entered the room, and sipped his tea. Bakura raised an eyebrow. Fei Long had always been an early riser... "Up a bit earlier than usual." Bakura said blinking. "Even for you. Did you get up before the sun was even down?" "Indeed I did." Fei Long said, eyeing Bakura over the rim of his tea cup. Bakura fixed himself some tea and sat down next to Fei Long. "Special day?" he asked taking a sip of his own tea. "No." Fei Long said, leaning back in his seat and closing his eyes lightly. "Wonder how long it will take Rhyshu and Eclipse to get here..." Bakura shrugged. "Is it really so bad spending some time with me? It's been what? Five hundred years at LEAST." Fei Long chuckled. "Unless you count our brief little greetings at the Christmas Ball every year..." He snorted. "You and your childe were always too enamored with one another to spend time with anyone else..." "Which is why they don’t count. " Bakura took another sip of his tea. "You know...we used to be like that..." "Not quite." Fei Long laughed. "But indeed. Once upon a time we WERE close. Did you ever tell him that?" "No. Itemri did." Bakura snorted. "He's the entire reason I never stayed close with you. He approved of you. I wanted nothing to do with anything HE approved of." Fei Long blinked. "You avoided me because Itemri liked me?!" Bakura nodded. "I did." Fei Long frowned. "How kind of you." Bakura chuckled softly. "I was young, and wanted only to piss him off. If it weren't for him, we probably could have ended up together." Fei Long smiled slightly. "Indeed. I truly did like you." "You say it as if you no longer like me." Bakura said giving Fei Long a look. "Taste change?" "You are a good man." Fei Long said, simply. "I do like you." Bakura chuckled. "It's a shame I let my hate of Itemri get in the way of my love for you." he said after a moment, eyes falling back to his tea, which he sipped calmly. "You've always been beautiful, and soothing." Fei Long smiled. "Oh, love was it?" He asked, eyes sparkling in teasing amusement. Bakura chuckled. "Don’t be coy, you loved me as much as I loved you." "Hmm... indeed." Fei Long said with a chuckle, and he and Bakura both raised their eyebrows at the sounds of little gasps and whisperings from outside the room. Fei Long's eye's were laughing. Bakura chuckled. "I THOUGHT WE TALKED ABOUT SPYING!" he called loudly, to the servants who were spying. There were several squeaks and then footsteps. Fei Long laughed. Bakura snorted. "Sorry... they're gossipy little maids." he grumbled. "I should punish them... but they have those huge eyes... then I feel like I kicked a puppy." Fei Long laughed again. "They are quite amusing. And very dear. They are VERY attentive to my every need." "They love to please." Bakura said shrugging. "Don’t your servants treat you the same?" Fei Long nodded. "Of course." He said. "But you must understand, things are very different in my land. The women are not to be seen or heard. Their only purpose is to be a good wife and bear sons. Of course, the women in my house are very different. They are well treated and educated, but whenever an outsider visits they are to act as nothing more than servants and concubines. A shame, really. Women here in the west are treated so much better..." Bakura smiled. "You know, there's nothing stopping you from taking your servants away from that. You've got a whole world to choose from, yet you linger in China." "It is my home. And I DO serve the Emperor." He smirked. "One of the few servants of the emperor who is not a Eunuch." Bakura chuckled. "Good for you hmm?" he chuckled. "Thank the gods no emperor rules over me." Fei Long chuckled. "Oh, he does not rule over me. He does not PRETEND to. He values my service and pays me handsomely for it. For fear that I might overthrow him. He knows I could. This is why I still have my house, my servants and all my land whereas many have lost all they had to the Emperor. He fears me..." Fei Long said, smirking and flashing a fang. He chuckled. "The fool actually beleives me to be a dragon disguised as a man!" Bakura burst out laughing. "A pretty little thing like you? A DRAGON?!" Bakura wiped a tear from his eyes. "Perhaps a lotus, but certainly not a dragon." Fei Long chuckled. "Akeifa..." He scolded. "You compare me to a flower? You do know that we Chinese have very different dragons than you Westerners do. Our dragons tend to be very wise and powerful, and as long as you do not insult them, they are peaceful, and often helpful. They are very much revered along with the tortoise, the pheonix and the tiger. Why, one of the highest compliments that one may pay the Emperor is to call him Dragon Face." "Yes, but I highly doubt Dragon Face would fly well in bed." Bakura chuckled. Fei Long grinned. "Hmm... probably not. You know... it's absurd, these Eunuchs... they record EVERYTHING!!! When the Emperor gets up, when he has breakfast, what he eats... they even record every detail when he takes a concubine to his bed!!!" Fei Long exclaimed, waving his hand to show how ridiculous he thought this was. "Egyptians had the right idea when we did NOT do that to our men." Bakura laughed. Fei Long joined Bakura in his laughter. "It is always so easy for me to laugh around you." He said, smiling at his companion. "It's because I'm not so formal as your people. Perhaps it was the sun that baked all social graces from me." Bakura chuckled in reply. Fei Long laughed again. "Perhaps it was. I find your... brusque, barbaric ways to be quite refreshing." He teased. "Barbaric? You didn't think so last night when I had you over my shoulder." Bakura teased back. Fei Long just raised an eyebrow and smirked lightly, sipping his tea. "Fei Long..." Bakura said after a moment looking thoughtful. "Did you love me as much as I loved you?" Fei Long looked at Bakura. "I do not know, for I never knew how much you loved me." He said. "How much did you love me?" Bakura said giving him a gentle look. Fei Long sighed and cocked his head, thinking. "Akeifa... gauging love is no simple thing. And why ask me? Why now? Do you already feel empty without your childe?" "No... curious." He gave Fei Long a long look before turning away. "Curious to what might have happened... if I hadn't been so bullheaded against Itemri." Fei Long cocked his head, regarding Bakura for a long time. Then, he set his tea down, turned Bakura's face to him, and kissed him. Bakura's eyes widened for a moment before he smiled into the kiss, returning it. He soon dominated the kiss with Fei Long, the other vampire not much of a Seme. He was too pretty to be Seme. But Fei Long surprised Bakura by biting his lip and responding with just as much aggression as Bakura was putting into it.
Outside, Geist was making his way up the road towards the house, Enehy trotting behind, happy to be coming home. Mikado dismounted at the door and walked up to it. He took a deep breath, then entered the house. The sight that greeted him, was Bakura and Fei Long, feverishly kissing (damn near making out) on the sofa in the den, their tea LONG forgotten. Mikado froze, eyes widening and his heart clenching in his chest. In fact, his chest felt as though it were being constricted, crushing his lungs as well. The servants spying on Bakura and Fei Long were now staring at Mikado. It didn't take long for the two elder Vampires to notice the intrusion however, and Bakura pulled away looking Mikado over for a moment. His face was unreadable to Mikado. "You came back..." Fei Long looked at Mikado in the same way. He had expected the boy to return to Bakura, but not so soon...
Mikado stared at Bakura, eyes wide and full of pain and heartbreak. His lips parted slightly as if he were going to speak, but he didn't. His lower lip began to tremble, so he bit it, swallowing a lump in his throat. "Your brother will be here, when the other two ancient arrive." Bakura said after a moment. "A week at most. What you do until that time is your decision." his eyes were still locked on Mikado. Mikado blinked, several times in confusion, but then they clouded with anger. "You bastard..." He hissed, shaking and clenching his teeth and fists. "Before you even start yelling at me about what a bastard I am, maybe you should rethink your little steps out of my house." Bakura said eyes flashing. "One does NOT abandon an engagement ring, or a 'wedding' present if they intend to come back." He growled. "And to have the SHEER audacity to come back expecting me to be waiting for you after such a disrespectful, irresponsible, inconsiderate, display of anger and hate then here's a harsh wake up call Mikado." Bakura hissed. "I'm NOT a child, and I don’t play your little game. If you want that sort of love, find a nice incubus like your brother, find a nice werewolf like Ryou. Oh wait. NEITHER of them act like that." Bakura snorted. "So don’t you DARE come in here and say a single word about my kissing Fei Long. YOU broke the engagement, YOU left ME. So now YOU face the fact that YOU are no longer in my life." And as if mocking him from Hell, Itemri's voice suddenly filled Mikado's mind... horrible words a century old. "I know what you're thinking... What about Fei Long? Has Akeifa been with the beautiful vampire childe of the Ancient of the East? .... It must burn your soul to think of your precious sire loving any but you..." But Mikado's soul didn't burn. In fact, it felt cold and dead. "And you know what? I approve of Fei Long... and Akeifa, despite his behavior... has had relations with him.... the beautiful Ancient of the East. You saw him, didn't you... he was perfect... beautiful and deadly. Mature... sophisticated... elegant and everything else that you aren't. You're just a child. An ungraceful, immature, unsophisticated common run of the mill scrappy brat. You don't have the beauty, the grace, the deadly elegance... you are nothing. He didn't choose you... he SETTLED for you. Fei Long isn't as interested in Akeifa as he is in Fei Long. You're the runner up..." these words not only filled Mikado's mind, but they echoed from his mind into Bakura's, too.
Mikado had lowered his eyes by this point, the picture of devastation. Slowly, he began to back away, slumped in defeat. Fei Long frowned slightly and looked at Bakura. "And once you're dead, Bakura will pursue Fei Long once more... and make a bloodline to be proud of..." Bakura watched Mikado, his expression still unreadable, before glancing at Fei Long. "I can hear you wanting to meddle Fei Long." he said after a moment. "Say what you want to say... but don’t think that it will change my feelings, and I doubt it will change his." he looked at Mikado once more. "This is between your and your childe." Fei Long said calmly. "I will not interfere." Bakura snorted. "Good." Bakura gave Mikado a cold look. "I don’t take abandonment well. I never have... and I never will. Itemri abandoned me... and so did you. He was never welcomed back... and you will be lucky if YOU ever are welcomed back." he said coldly. "I loved you, but you didn't make me, and you will NOT break me." Mikado closed his eyes and winced as if he had been slapped in the face. Bakura's words cut him to the core. "I... I'm sorry..." He whimpered, trembling. "You... you hurt me... again... I... I didn't... think, I... I'm sorry..." "You have nothing to apologize for." Bakura said after a moment. "That is something a lover would have to apologize for. Not you." He picked up his tea and drank some, putting it back down. "I've lived over a thousand years now, loss is something I've come to terms with. Maybe now you'll think more closely before having a temper tantrum. Now that it's cost you someone dear to you. I will not change my mind Mikado. You are no longer my betrothed. You're Mikado, a Vatican Agent... and I'll be your informant... if even that." Mikado stood still for quite some time, before he slowly gave a single nod. Then, silently, he turned and walked away. A few moments later, the front door quietly opened, and closed. The house was silent as death itself. Bakura let out a sigh and slowly relaxed. "You can all stop spying now." he called irritably. "Go do your chores." he glared at the peeking servants warningly. At the sounds of scurrying steps he shook his head and sighed once more. "Fun days." he grumbled. Fei Long said nothing, as the faint sounds of weeping could be heard as the servants went about their duties. Lillith was slowly climbing to the attic, carrying the beginnings of the dress that was supposed to be worn by Mikado at the Christmas Ball this year. She opened a trunk and folded it inside, then closed the lid, wondering how many years would pass before it saw the light again... Bakura grumbled once more. "I do not think..." he said after a moment. "That I will be staying in this place much longer." he said to Fei Long quietly. "I am nomadic still... not nearly as much as Rhyshu... but I think it is time once more, that I pack a bit of my belongings, and move on." Fei Long blinked. "And... what of your servants? Your herds?" "I will leave the house to them. They work payless and have always been kind." Bakura said. "I will take Strigoi, and my horses... and go." "Where will you go?" Fei Long asked. "Have I EVER set a predecided destination?" Bakura chuckled. "I will go where Ra takes me." "Ah... the sun you cannot see?" Fei Long asked. "I may not see him with my eyes anymore... but that does not take away the existance." Bakura snorted. "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." Fei Long nodded. "Indeed." He said softly. Bakura looked into the fire. "Do not tell a soul Fei Long..." he said after a moment. "And… thanks for the kiss." he chuckled. "It's good to know... that we still hold flames for each other..." Fei Long sighed. "Even at the expense of another's hope and happiness?" "Just as you said earlier. I will not lead him on." Bakura said giving Fei Long a look. "Fair enough." Fei Long said softly with a nod. "But forgive me if I feel guilt for crushing the hopes of a child." "You won’t crush a thing... because you will not tell." Bakura said giving Fei Long a look. "Where I go, I intend not to be found, except by those I wish to find me." Fei Long stared long and hard at Bakura. "Your childe's hopes have been crushed." He said firmly. "You will only hurt him more by disappearing. Is this your goal? You wish to leave so that he will not find you?" "I wish to leave, because I am beginning... to miss home." Bakura said after a moment. "You will go to Egypt, then?" He asked. "I will... to a place I called home." Bakura nodded. "A place that will not harm my herd." Fei Long nodded, silently.

Ahmose was in full panic mode. Yami had disappeared, and he couldn't find him anywhere. His pendulum he had been tracking Yami with suddenly just went limp, which it had never done before. Ahmose was terrified of what that might mean. The pendulum jumped to life nearly two hours after Ahmose had lost Yami and began pointing west. FAR west. Ahmose immediately changed into a hawk, flying as fast as he could, following the pendulum in his beak. Meanwhile, the large demon had come back for Yami, smirking. "I've got a surprise for you Atemu." he chuckled holding up a small vial. "I visited an old friend..." he popped the cork off and forced the dumbed king's mouth open. No one ever came to the park... so 'parking' the king there was a fine place to hide him. Most demons hated the pristine little park. It was too 'happy'. He chuckled to himself, forcing the vile black serum down Yami's throat. "You'll not leave this realm as a king..." he said pleased with his work. "And when I finally force you from your throne... you will never be able to reclaim it..." he smirked as his dazed little king-toy drank the fluid.
"Oh... right on time." the demon said feeling Ahmose's magic approaching. "Your human will 'save' you." he began to dissapate into mist and finally seemed to disappear just as Ahmose neared. Ahmose swooped down, changing and running to the King. "Yami!!!" He shouted, eyes wild. "YAMI!!!" Yami was rubbing his head and looking dazed, and seconds later he yelped, toppling to his ass, a dagger flying by his head, nearly missing him. Ahmose's eyes widened and he whirled, looking for the source of the blade. There was none to be found... as if the dagger had come from nowhere. Yami was staring at it wide eyed. "Holy shit! That thing almost hit me!" Ahmose frowned, still looking about wildly. "Stay close..." He ordered. Yami nodded quickly looking a bit worried. Tense moments passed... but not other weapons came flying. It seemed the dagger was first, and last. Ahmose slowly began to relax, and he turned and looked at Yami. "Are you alright? How did you get here?!" Yami blinked and looked at Ahmose oddly. "I walked." Ahmose blinked. "Walked." "Yes. Walked. One foot, then the other." Yami said lifting one foot, then the other. Ahmose gave him a look. "Very funny." He said. "Come on... we should get you home." Yami nodded a bit making a face. "Ugh... That fruit leaves a pretty foul aftertaste." he grumbled snatching another one despite the comment from Ahmose, and beginning to chew. Ahmose smiled slightly. "Come on, Your Royal Highness. Time for lunch." Yami grinned and suddenly pinned Ahmose to part of the Gazebo. "Lunch? Why thank you Ahmose." he purred kissing him. "I love picnics!" Ahmose's eyes widened. "Yami!!! Stop that!!!" He yelped, blushing horribly. "This is a PUBLIC PLACE!!!" "Public? Please. No one comes to the park." Yami snorted grinning. "And I'm hungry, and you offered. Now lets fuck." He began pulling Ahmose's shirt away. "Like you haven't missed outdoor make out sessions. You used to enjoy them enough when we traveled together." Ahmose squirmed. "That was different!!! It was in the middle of the woods, at NIGHT!!! Not a public PARK!!!" "It's perpetually night here, no one comes to the park, and you should get a nipple piercing." Yami commented as he worked. "WHAT?!" Ahmose yelped, now smacking Yami's hands away. "GOD!!! NO!!! EW!!!" Yami laughed at that. "I'm not saying KEEP it pierced.." he hissed. "Just pierce it for the enhanced stimulation." Ahmose gave Yami a look like he was crazy. "... and you were whining about me maiming YOU." "Hey! A needle prick is a lot different then gouging out my hand for a few stupid crystals!" Ahmose rolled his eyes. "Yes... cutting INTO a piece of flesh is a lot nicer than GOING THROUGH IT!!!" "ONLY DURING S&M!" Yami howled. "And that was neither S OR M!" Ahmose blinked, then chuckled. "Oh, so if we were having sex and I did it to stimulate you, you would let me cut them out of you?" "Hell no." Yami growled. "You're leaving my hand alone Ahmose. Period." Ahmose snorted. "I'll get them out eventually. One way or another..." He grumbled. Yami growled louder. "I said No." he said suddenly, turning away from Ahmose. "Or are you going to force your will on me like Seto? Is that it? Because it's comparable." Ahmose blinked and scowled, but then sighed and drooped. "No..." He said softly. "Good. Then leave my hand the hell alone." Yami said grumbling and walking ahead a few steps. "Lets go home." Ahmose nodded and silently followed Yami. A week passed, and it had become clear that the entire kingdom heard of Yami and Ahmose's little outburst in the marketplace. Rumor of the king's chosen turning on him spread like wildfire....along with the rumor of the human beginning to influence Atemu in a unhealthy way.
Yami sighed and shook his head. "You should go see Bakura, we received word that he's gotten together the vampires you asked for." Yami said after a moment. Ahmose sighed, nodding. "I should... but I don't want to leave you alone. Why don't you come with me?" Yami shook his head. "I can’t." he said after a moment. "I've been letting that horrible paperwork get piled up...I'll stay in my little..prison-office." he said smiling. "I'll have guards outside...I'll be fine." he smiled and nuzzled Ahmose. "Greg will watch me too ok? He'll go get you if even a hair of trouble happens." Ahmose sighed. "Alright..." He said, gently kissing Yami. "I'll be home soon..." Yami nodded and grinned. "Want Greg to drop you off?" "That would be nice." Ahmose said, nodding. He smiled. "And when I get back we can... play a bit..." Yami's tail curled at that. "Ohhh sounds fun..." Yami kissed Ahmose once more. "Have fun." he chuckled as Greg appeared behind Ahmose.
"You've really got to learn to do this yourself." the reaper chuckled. Ahmose snorted. "I do know how. Just... not how to do it without collapsing for a few hours afterwards." "Yeah...fix that." The reaper chuckled as he teleported them. When the world came back into focus, Ahmose was infront of Bakura's home.
"I'll watch your lover..." Greg said calmly. "Good luck." Ahmose nodded his thanks, and walked up to the door, knocking. Instead of a servant, Ahmose met Bakura at the door. "Oh there you are." Bakura said with a smile. "I'm sure Mikado will be along soon." he stepped aside, allowing Ahmose inside. "They're waiting for you in the dining room." Ahmose nodded. "Thank you for doing this." He said. "I'm very grateful." "You're welcome." Bakura said calmly. He lead Ahmose to the dining room, allowing his friend to take a seat, before giving Fei Long a calm look. He left the room once more.
Rhyshu shrugged. "Jeeeeeze what's his deal? He's been edgy lately." he blurted. "My GOD." Ahmose blinked and looked at Rhyshu silently. Fei Long stared at the wall on the other side of the room, and Eclipse silently inspected Ahmose. Rhyshu snorted. "Big conversationalists here." he mumbled leaning back in his chair.
It was nearly an hour of awkward silence, before a teenager with long bluish mint hair came in, carrying a tray with glasses of wine. "H-here you are." The teen stuttered adjusting his spectacles, the amulet around his neck glowing. "I've gotta...um...go." he said sheepishly. "I hope you find what you're looking for!" he called scurrying from the room. Ahmose sighed, picking up his glass and sipping the wine, while the vampires enjoyed the BloodWyne. He frowned... What was taking Mikado so long? Rhyshu looked up at Ahmose. "So... why did you ask us to come?" Ahmose sighed, deciding that he could not keep these Ancient vampires waiting on his brother.
"I want to know the whereabouts of your sires." He said, getting right to the point. "Queen Nephile, her Chosen, Azazel, and half of the demon court and council are dead. Murdered by a single being with extremely sharp claws within an hour. There are not many who are capable of this, but your sires are." Rhyshu stared at Ahmose a long time. "You won’t need to see our sires." He said after a moment. "Despite Akeifa's sire... the other timeless are peaceful." he said after a moment. "My sire, the timeless of the west hasn't left the city of the gods since it's completion." he said shaking his head. "I know she'd never kill anyone. She's completly devoted to her appearance, and nothing on this world or any other would convince her to soil her clothes with blood. She's far more interested in dusting her skin with gold, and adorning her clothes with it."
Eclipse nodded slowly. "My sire wouldn't harm a fly..." he said after a moment. "The timeless of the north... she's a priestess." he added softly. "She's NEVER killed anyone." Fei Long nodded as well. "My sire is a monk in the mountains. And it has been nearly a century since he has left the monastery. He teaches the ways of peace and harmony. He would never have harmed anyone."
Ahmose sighed and nodded. "I doubted it was any of the Timeless..." He said softly. "But I must cover everything. If someone is capable of killing all of those demons, I must look into them." Rhyshu shook his head. "You're looking for demons, not vampires." he said offering a weak smile. "We're mostly... well... peaceful." he shrugged. "I can only think of a handful of demons capable of such a thing, and most of them have been vanquished or sealed away." Ahmose sighed, frowning. "... What could have done this...?" He murmured. "And where the hell is Mikado?!" Fei Long looked down at his wine glass, and stayed silent. Rhyshu shrugged. "Are there any details about this attack? Anything? Sharp claws is pretty vague." Ahmose shook his head. "That's all I have." He mumbled, obviously frustrated. Rhyshu chuckled a bit. "You don’t even have a rough age? Nothing?" "We're looking for demons over 2000 years of age." Ahmose said, looking at the two silent vampires. Eclipse chuckled. "MOST demons are over 2000." He said rolling his eyes. "I don’t know much about them, that's Rhyshu and Fei Long's specialty. Their people keep tabs on the mythical more than mine..."
Rhyshu snickered. "Your people lack culture." Eclipse gave Rhyshu a look. "At least we don't lack dignity and respect." "Oh? My people were developing advanced technology while yours were still drunk and fighting." Rhyshu countered rolling his eyes. "Gentlemen, please." Fei Long said, irritably. "The Chosen of King Atemu is not here to listen to you squabble." He turned to Ahmose. "We are sorry we could not be of more help." Ahmose sighed and nodded.
"Thank you for making the effort to come out here and see me..." He said, standing. "If you don't mind, I must get back to Atemu. I am concerned that the murderer will come for him..." Rhyshu and Eclipse nodded. "If you get anything more specific call us." he said eagerly. "We know about a million demons capable...but we cant really determine which, just based on claws alone." he said shaking his head.
Eclipse nodded. "And good luck." Ahmose nodded his thanks again, and sought out Bakura. But Bakura was nowhere to be found. Ahmose frowned, not liking this. But now was not the time. He went out to the stable, and smiled when Nakhti neighed a delighted greeting before he even entered. He went to his horse, stroking his nose and talking to him softly, then lay his hands on the horse's neck, and teleported home. Of course, once he got there, he found that once again, he had failed to get himself to the palace. He, and his horse, were standing on the roof of a butcher. Ahmose groaned, already feeling his legs shake. He climbed on Nakhti's back. "Home..." He mumbled. Nakhti snorted and took to the air, flying calmly back to the palace. Where Ahmose found Yami, boredly filling out paperwork. Not a scratch on him.
Yami perked immediatly at the sight of his lover. " Ahmose!" Ahmose smiled weakly. "Hey... having fun?" He teased. "I saved you some Fan letters." Yami offered, picking up a stack. "Good ones today." Ahmose smiled. "Oh really?" He asked, and sat down to read. But his smile soon faded. Ahmose put down one, and picked up another. He began to frown. He read another one. While he was usually laughing when he read the fan letters, today he looked upset and concerned. "Ahmose?" Yami blinked. "What's wrong? Usually you're howling by now." "Have you read these? They're all begging you to get rid of me... the whole kingdom seems to think I'm a traitor and that I'll murder you in your sleep and try to take your crown!!!" "Yeah, but that's silly. We both know that's a load of crap." Yami said flicking his tail. "I'd never get rid of you, no matter HOW much they beg. I love you." Ahmose sighed. "But some radicals may try to take things into their own hands..." "And what? " Yami blinked. "Killing YOU would just piss me off, and killing ME would just put you in the throne." Ahmose blinked. "It... it WOULD?!" He yelped, looking quite startled. "Yeah... if I die, you get the throne. I have no heir." Yami said calmly. "and even if I did, you'd get the throne til it was old enough to rule" Ahmose blinked, looking a bit... pale at this. "You can't die. There would be a revolution." Yami blinked. "I uh... am not exactly planning to." he said tilting his head to the side. "I dont intend to die." "Good. Keep it that way." Ahmose said firmly, frowning as he picked up another letter. This one was actually not written to Yami, but to Ahmose. In fact, it was a threatening letter. Ahmose winced and crumpled it up. But there were more like it in with the fan letters, and every single one mentioned Yami's "horrible Chosen". Yami sighed and nuzzled Ahmose. "Don’t frown..." he said softly. "Maybe I'll just start shredding these." he mumbled curling his tail around Ahmose's waist. "I dont want you feeling hurt... it's my fault. I'll talk to them." Ahmose sighed. "Why? So they can claim that I'm controlling your mind or something?" Yami sighed. "Ahmose... what else can I do? I can’t change their minds by being silent..." "I know." Ahmose said, softly. "I know... I just... I don't want to make things more difficult for you... you know... even people in the palace are talking... members of the court and council..." Yami nodded and sighed. "It'll be ok...I'll explain everything." he kissed Ahmose's cheek. "I promise. They'll understand." "Will they?" Ahmose asked, obviously not beleiving that. "I'm sure they will Ahmose." Yami said smiling. "Calm down." Ahmose blinked at Yami. "I am calm." He said. "you seem worried to me." "Yes... but I'm still calm." Ahmose said, raising an eyebrow. Yami shrugged. "I've never equated 'worried' with calm." Yami laughed. "Whenever I'm worried, I'm frantic." "Well, that's one of the many differences between you and I." Ahmose said, calmly. Yami snorted and gave Ahmose a look. "brat." he sighed but nuzzled Ahmose. "C'mon... lets go to bed. You look tired." Ahmose nodded. "I am..." He sighed. "Had to teleport myself, AND my horse." Yami chuckled and stood. "Bed then." he said proudly. "I'm pretty tired too." Ahmose smiled and nodded, getting up and following Yami to the bedroom. Once inside, Yami stripped and flopped into the bed happily. "hmmm." he nuzzled into his mother's pillow and was out like a light. Ahmose smiled, stripping as well and falling into the bed beside Yami, soon joining him in sleep... *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
