Foiled again

I originally thought I wouldn't have time for this today, but my relatives left early and clean up didn't take that long. That said, thanks to the raters and the one reviewer who has commented on every chapter thus far! Thanks! That said, here's the next. It's a little rushed, as I have to go to work soon~

What was it about tutoring that made regular school days drag on? Why did everyday have to end in misery? Will the torment ever end? Just a few of the questions swirling around the slifer student’s head. Today, Crowler happened to be yammering about fusion, adding a sting to the impending doom waiting at the end of class. Oh rapture.

Chazz actually dreaded the end of class, as it only meant he would show up. Then again, the former obelisk student did (kind of) want to see his tutor’s reaction to losing his Pikeru. Maybe if he acted depressed enough, this wouldn’t be such a bad session.

“Good day.” That familiar voice stated, with hints of sadness? ALRIGHT!

“Let’s just get this over with already.”

“I was actually thinking our regular study sessions are getting redundant. How about a new plan of action?”

“Psh, whatever.” the slifer mumbled, thoroughly upset by the fact that his tutor didn’t mention Pikeru.

“Very good, come with me please.”

Bastion brought his student to the middle of the woods. For what reason was currently unknown.

“Well? What does this have to do with duelling?” The impatient student snarled.

“Today we’re not even going to touch on the subject of Duelling. By my calculation, if I teach too much too soon, it will confuse you.”

“Really?! Then what’s the point of being here?”

“You can just review what we’ve already went over, or you get some exercise. After all, a sound mind needs a sound body.”

“I don’t think so. I’m leaving if you’ve nothing to say.”

“It may do you some good to stay around. Don’t forget you’re not allowed to leave for at least an hour.”

Chazz snarled. “I can’t believe this! I’m stuck with you for an hour, and you don’t even have anything to preach at me!”

“You know, review is key to success. There should be a balance between work and leisure as well. If one or the other dominates you, you’re bound to fail, as stated by this equation here.” Bastion said, drawing attention to a long and complex series of numbers.

“Don’t give me that! No one cares about your math nonsense! I can review on my own time, I don’t need you for that!”

“Seriously Chazz, try to calm down a little. You’re so angry all of the time. Perhaps if you learned to calm down, you’d do better on tests.”

“I don’t need this! Don’t tell me what to do!”

“Oh, I won’t.” Bastion said. He paused briefly, then continued, “But I have to ask, why did you want the card you took this morning?”

Jackpot! Just as the cunning slifer predicted, that maniacal tutor clearly felt something for that card. He’d managed to get under his tutor’s skin, mission accomplished! Now, should the slifer concoct a lie, or tell it to him straight? Maybe toying with the tutor could be a decent pass time.

“I took it because I felt like it. My deck is perfect, so anything I take would just slow me down.” Chazz said confidently, wondering how the other would handle the lie. His demeanor had completely changed.

“Really? Is that all?” The tutor asked, with hints of interest in his tone.

“Heh, yep, that’s the only reason.” The slifer snidely stated, grin forming. He strongly hoped the ra student would beg him for his asset back, or freak out or start crying, or...

“Very well. Anyway, I’ll let you go early. See you on Monday.” The tutor said in a defeated tone. He then got up and slowly made his way back to the yellow dorm.

Unbelievable. How could he possibly have such a lack of emotion? Nevertheless, Chazz grinned to himself as he’d managed to obtain a personal ‘get out of jail free card.’ He intended to make full use of his newly obtained free time.

The arrogant slifer stood, ready to play his x-box for the rest of the night and possibly the entire weekend without interruption. On his way back, he accidentally tripped on a root and fell into the well. When he hit the ground, he lay motionless for a moment. After a while, the disoriented slifer discovered only minor injuries around his right shoulder and ankle.

“Ah! Grr! Just my luck! I manage to get the day off, and I end up falling in a well!” Chazz growled to no one in particular. He soon realized that trying to climb back out with an injured ankle and shoulder would be impossible. Defeated, he decided to sit in the corner and pout about it.

‘This is all his fault! If it wasn’t for him...’ The failing slifer thought to himself. It was starting to get dark out now, he couldn’t help but feel a tad frightened.

Before long, it was pitch black. No more light, not even the light from the moon and stars reached down to where the slifer now lay. Chazz had been calling for help for the last hour, even though he knew full well everyone had already gone to sleep. He let out a sigh, and assumed that maybe if he could get some sleep, he may gain the strength to climb out in the morning. It wasn’t the greatest place to sleep, definitely worse than what he was used to, but for now it would have to do.

Ok, it's short, but it's probably due to the lack of sleep. Maybe the next one will be longer. In ending, thanks for over 100 hits! yeah!
