Chapter five: a party?

Later that night….

Yami was putting his clothes away while recalling today’s events.

So far, he has been lectured by his friends over having a kid. Also, they were upset sine they all decided to keep the ‘saving the world’ knowledge a secret (eventhough Ano hasn’t found out). And most all, since the baby wasn’t human, Set wanted Seto to run tests on A.J. to see what exactly what he was.

[Man, they are not going to let me live this down.] Atemu thought as he closed the closet door. He had decided to stay and work and the Kame game shop and Ano stayed at home with her family. They both saw it easier financially and A.J. didn’t seem to mind.

Atemu always seemed to smile every time he thought of Ano. Her hair stayed the length as he first saw it. Her figure became an even hourglass after the birth of the baby. And, she seemed to be much sweeter than when they were dating. She would always play hard to get with him. But he soon found out why when he met her family.

~flashback~

I was a harsh, stormy day in the suburbs of Japan. Atemu and Ano raced to the front door of a traditional Japanese mansion. After entering past the front door, the two shed their wet clothing and shoes and retreated to the center of the mansion so that they could dry off.

“Love, couldn’t we have come on a better day? I did not want to introduce myself as a drowned rat.” Atemu scolded. Ano smiled and led him into the center room where there were others posted around a rather large oven.

“weather does not matter in my family,” Ano started. She walked over to the oven and sat next to the male version of her and patted the seat next to her for him to sit down. “My parents aren’t here yet so we have to wait.”

And that’s what they did. Soon, Atemu discovered that the children around the fire we in fact her siblings and her twin was the male sitting on her other side.

Soon, another door slid open to reveal a slim woman with wide hips and cat ears, along with a larger than life male that seemed to resembled a humanoid version of a phoenix. They sat at the fire and their sight immediately foucused on Atemu.

“Who are you?” The larger male snarled.

“I am Atemu Mutou. I live and work and the local game shop in town. And I’m…”

“my mate,” Ano interrupted. The couple stared at Ano in disbelief. “and the sire or our unborn child.”

They male opened his eyes wide and the female giggles with joy as she hugged Ano.

Later that night Atemu discorever that the couple were her parents and had just come back into town to check up on everyone.

~end flashback~

That time long ago he discovered that he would have to present a dowry to the family and also to create a home, or in the parents’ sense ‘nest, for Ano and A.J. Which worked out pretty well. They were planning on getting an apartment after she felt she could live without her parents. Atemu understood. He hadn’t yet explained to Solomon about A.J. and had planned on doing it tonight.

“Atemu, dinner,” Solomon yelled from downstairs. “and Ano is here as well. I’ll be going out.”

“Alright,” Atemu said as he desended the steps to see Solomon walking out the door and Ano setting the table. “Where’s the baby?”

“He is with my mother this week. She wanted to start teaching him about his demon ancestry.” Ano spoke calmly, Atemu walked up behind her and kissed the back of her neck, where he had managed to place a mating mark symbolizing their union. “Yami, there’s someone at the door.”

“what?” Atemu spoke. A few seconds later and banging started at the front door. “Who would come now of all times?” Atemu wondered.

Ano went to the front and Atmeu heard a lot of yelling and decided to check things out.


“Where Yami?” Bakura spoke.

“He’s unavailable at this moment, can I help you?”

Yes you can get the fuck out of my way” Bakura yelled as he triend to push past Ano. Unfortunately for him she was like a rock and never moved from her stance.

“Leave! You have no right entering a home that isn’t yours.”

“I’ll do whatever the hell I want bitch!”

“I believe the correct term is ‘queen’.” Atemu interrupted. Bakura looked at him confussed.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Bakura inquired.

“Female dogs are known as bitches. Female cats are known as queens.”

“I don’t give a fuck. We want answers.” Bakura moved aside to reveal everyone from that day nodding in agreemenet.

“Atemu, what is he talking about?” Ano said confused at her mate, “Why is he so mad?”

“I’ll tell you why,” Bakura started, “Spiky over heard decided to pull some shit off he shouldn’t be doing in the first place and not only had a kid, but it came out like a creature thing!”

Ryou tried to calm down Bakura enough to reveal the fire in Ano’s eyes and hands but Bakura wouldn’t let up. It was finally ended when everyone heard Ano cry and run upstairs into the bathroom. It was then that everyone entered the home and all the hikaris glared at Bakura.

“What?!” Bakura shouted. The hikaris went upstairs to talk to Ano through the bathroom door. During which all the Yamis circled Atemu to receive answers. “Well, Pharoh, what the fuck?”

“First of all, she doesn’t know anything of why Yugi and I broke up. I can understand not telling anyone about the world ‘hero’ thing. Second, my wife is half neko half phoenix, not a thing. Third, since Yugi won’t help me get back to my old life I have to create a new one. And last, if you ever make my mate cry like that again I will assure that the wrath you will receive won’t be from me and therefore far worse than being sent to the shadow realm.” The Pharoah, stated flatly. As far as he knew Ano was PMSing and he didn’t want the great sex he usually gets out of it ruined because he decided to live his life.

Set took a step forward and tried to reason with his cousin. “Atemu, we do not mind you having a life of your own, but as a fellow yami you must understand that procreating outside of our tight knit circle is dangerous, especially if the mother is indeed of non-human decent. We only think of everyone’s safety here. I mean, what if she decided to take over the world and thought the only way to do it was through your heart?”

Atemu rolled his eyes and laughed loudly. “What are you talking about? Even if she did want to take over the world, she wouldn’t need me. She has it good with the emperor, the head of the mob, she has family placed stragetically in every important country in this world. And has an army of the most dangerous demon in the world at her disposal. She definitely wouldn’t need me.”

Everyone was quite shocked at this. But the oddity of it was that it lightened the mood that drifted around them. As Atemu told his friends more about his mate, they all began to relax and waited for the Hikaris to come back down.

Meanwhile upstairs…

::Knock knock::

“Ano, dear? It’s Ryou, we went to that private middle school together? Please don’t take what ‘Kura said seriously, he’s only scared about the situation.” Ryou said calmly to the door while his ear was pressed against it. When they heard no response, Seto opened the door and walked in to see Ano slightly draped over the toilet sleeping, there was obvious proof that she was indeed sick since she fell asleep before she flushed it.

“Poor thing,” Malik whispered while rubbing Ano’s back and cleaning her mouth, “She must be pregnant again. I read in a book in Egypt that the female, no matter how brute, would become extremely sensitive over the relationship with the father of the offspring. ”
