FuKouHei: I am just in an updating mood! ( for this fic anyway… ) I’d like to apologize to my cousin for telling you all to disregard her review. Just don’t make it so long next time, okay Kai? I’d also like to thank YamiRynEnjeru for the review! ^^ I’m so happy your still reading! Here’s chapter four ‘cause I don’t want my cousin to murder me! ^^
The Green Manalishi: Chapter Four
Malik threw open the door to his apartment and was immediately pounced on by a not-too-happy Isis.
“Malik!” she shouted when she noticed her little brother. “I got a call from the school today! Actually, I got two!”
“Congratulations! Do you want a prize or something?” Malik asked sarcastically as he flung his back pack over the couch. Isis had her hands on her hips as she rounded on her brother.
“That is not funny, Malik!” scolded Isis. She glowered down at her brother who seemed unconcerned of her wrath. “What you did was serious! And I don’t even want to know where you got a dead squirrel!”
“I have my ways,” Malik grinned impishly as he flipped on the T.V. Isis frowned and moved to stand in front of the small television. Malik tried to see around his sister, but he couldn’t get a decent view. “Move, Isis. I can’t see around your massive hips.”
“Malik!” Isis chided. She snatched the remote from Malik’s grasp and turned off the T.V. “I’ve had about enough of you!”
“Newsflash Thunder Thighs,” Malik glared knives at his sister. “Living with you isn’t a picnic.”
“Look, Malik, I don’t know what happened to you, but I can’t help you if you don’t open up,” Isis sighed. She really did love her brother, but he was so hard to handle. “Ever since Dad died---“
“Don’t you dare bring that bastard into this!” Malik shouted at Isis and rose from the couch.
Isis shrunk back as her brother’s gaze bore into her terror filled eyes. His once placid lavender eyes flickered with the look that could send a thousand men into the very pits of Hell.
Malik stormed off down the hall and slammed the door to the room he and Marik shared. Isis let out the breath she never realized she was holding and fell back onto the lumpy couch.
“Ra help him…”

Marik opened the door to his room to see Malik laying flat on the floor, staring at the chipped ceiling.
“What the hell are you doing?” Marik asked his brother. He set his pack on his bed and pulled out his homework.
“I’m wasting away on the floor, jackass,” Malik hissed at his brother. “Got a problem with it?”
“Not really,” Marik answered. He sat on his bed and began looking through his history book. “But I don’t think Odion wants to drag out your dead body.”
Malik snickered and sat up to observed his twin.
“Doing your homework?” Malik asked as he got up to lean over Marik’s shoulder.
“Yeah,” Marik answered. “I’m not the evil twin, remember?” Malik snorted.
“One of us has to be,” he went over to his own bed and threw himself into the mattress. He began to ponder the happenings of the day. The scene in the principal’s office sticking out the most in his mind…next to Anzu freaking out in the hall, of course. “I wonder who I’ll be saddle with…”
“I don’t know,” Marik answered. “Probably some fat rich guy.” He flipped through the pages of his book, looking for his homework page. He found it, but it was covered by some deranged doodle. “What the hell? Malik, have you been doodling in my textbooks again?”
“Maybe…”

Marik and Malik came downstairs the next morning. Marik went straight for the fridge for some OJ, while Malik went to his usual morning routine of insulting Isis’s cooking…even it was just cold cereal.
“This stuff again?” Malik complained as he stabbed the already soggy Corn Flakes. “Oh come on, I know you can at least try to cook something.”
“Oh be quiet, Malik,” Isis scolded from her spot at the stove. “It’s not like you’re going to eat it anyway.”
“Whatever,” Malik said as he pushed the bowl away from him. “Whelp, I’m going to Hell.”
“Malik!” Odion reprimanded. “Watch it!”
“I’m mean I’m going to school,” Malik clarified. “What did you think I meant?”
Odion didn’t respond. Malik was about to leave when Isis latched her hand on Malik’s wrist.
“Oh no, young man, you are not going anywhere,” Isis said matter-of-factly as she pulled the boy away from the door. “The principal called again this morning and said you were not to go to school today. He said that he’d call again to inform us of which family you’ve been assigned to.”
“Joy,” Malik said as he went back to his room. No sense staying with these people if he didn’t have to go to school.

Seto looked around the lunch room trying to locate Malik. The CEO had saw his brother come in, but the other Egyptian was no where to be seen. He was going to first ask Anzu if she’d seen the boy since he wasn’t looking forward to talking to the Egyptian’s brother again, but the ditzy girl was still seething from the stunt Malik pulled yesterday…she was best left unquestioned.
Sighing, Seto went over to the Egyptian in an attempt to squeeze him of more information.
“Hey you—”
“The name’s Marik, jerk,” Marik said before Seto could finish.
Malik, Marik. Seto should’ve seen that coming.
“Okay “ Marik ”, where’s Malik?” Seto asked, not bothering to take a seat. He hadn’t planned on being there long.
“Home,” Marik answered simply. “The principal told him not to come today.”
‘Odd,’ Seto thought. He hadn’t seen the boy do anything worth being suspended over.
***
The school day seemed to pass in a blur for Seto as the young CEO sat in the back of his limo. He mulled over the happenings of the past view days and mentally bashed himself. Ever since that one simple encounter in the hallway, Seto had found himself nearly obsessed with one called Malik Ishtar. He’d even did a few background checks to find anything useful about the boy. All he knew was that he lived with his older sister, Isis, brother, Odion, and twin, Marik, and apparently his father died in a fire ten years ago.
‘He doesn’t seem to come from stable beginnings,’ Seto noted. ‘His grades are horrible, and he only seems to do just enough work to make it to the next grade. His style, too, and choice of friends ( or lack thereof ) also shows his personality. I’ve seen him with that Bakura guy a few times. They seem to like each other enough, but they don’t seem to be more than just simple friends.’ Seto didn’t know why the thought of anyone dating Malik made his blood boil to the point of melting…if blood COULD melt. ( It already was liquid after all. )
The limo pulled up to the mansion and Seto peered out of the tinted window next to them to see a lone figure standing in front of the door. Seto got out of the vehicle and approached the person standing vigilantly on the porch. The CEO reached out and pulled the figure around to meet his gaze. His icy blue eyes went wide with surprise when he realized who it was.

Malik growled as he walked down the street towards the address Isis had given him. Isis was going to give him a ride, but he made a smart remark and she made him walk the whole way.
‘She could at least told me the losers I’d have to baby sit,’ Malik complained in his head. He was not happy at all about having to wait on somebody hand and foot. He would have much rather had been expelled. ‘Anything would have been better.’
Malik rounded the corner and saw a big ass house sitting in seclusion from the rest of the city. He walked up through the gates and peered at the house number to confirm if he was at the right place. He was too entranced by the size of the house to hear a car coming up behind him, or the patter of angry feet coming towards him.
The Egyptian let out an annoyed yelp when he felt someone grab him from behind and turn him to face them. His lavender eyes dilated considerably before they were distorted by the glare that crept its way onto his face.
FuKouHei: Ooh! Cliffhanger! ( Not really…. ) Anyway…I’m sure that ALL of you saw this coming, even if you really don’t know what’s going on. ^^ Anyway…I’m going to try to update my other two stories, but I can’t promise everyday updates after today…* groan * I hate being in a band…oh yeah...I'm still looking for a new beta....or my old one....myu....( family need not apply )
Review please! ( I beg of you! TT_TT )
