(Bakura)
I hugged my demonic lover and we all waited for the food man to come with dinner from another village. Ryou and Malik tried there best to explain to us how it didn’t come form another village, but here in this town. What an idiot… a village can’t be that big with so many things.
Marik just ignored them both completely staring off in to his own mind, he looked lost in deep thoughts, I always worry about Marik when this happens, he’ll spend nights at a time wondering about some thing, not moving to speak or to eat. Some thing eats at his soul, I really wish I knew what it was.
I remember at the beginning of our relationship he was so worried and up tight. Yes, I remember it clearly, he was so worried he’d barley be able to go to bed. It hurt me to know I was the source of that worry. But I just played my games, it had been a long trek from Egypt, and I so longed for a companion. I didn’t realize how much I wanted company since the start of my journey to explore the unknown.
This world is still unknown to me, maybe more now then ever. I wish I could have spent the centuries exploring it with Marik but that damn human imprisoned us in that damn house. Unable to be freed until we got the rings, it was his way of containing our evil. Little did he know evil like ours can not be contained.
Now that we are free my lover and I will take on new bodies to host our demonic presence and explore this strange new world together like I had wished it so long ago. All we needed now was to capture the bodies we needed, I felt sorry for the two humans, but I needed to do what must be done.
All for the sake of Marik, I’d do any thing for Marik, its funny… I uttered those same words to him on the night he came to me. I believe it was the night I had come to his village. It was funny to see the shock on his face. He had run up to me and stuttered out none sense.
His mother offered me a room at her house, after I told her we had met the night before and he had helped me find some thing I dropped on the ground. She wasn’t the least bit suspicious of what I had dropped. But then again that’s how humans are; they are all, on the whole, very trusting creatures.
*Flash back*
I sat on my bed in the small stuffy room, clothes and such littered every where, I can tell there was some attempt to clean up. No matter one shouldn’t complain in such a small house. The fool bed with wool stuffing was sundeunder the touch. Apparently his family did have some money to spend. Marik sat on the bed opposite me; they had offered me Marik’s room since we knew each other already. No one though could quite grasp how well we knew each other.
He stared at me in the dark little room; a small candle was the only think that lit the place up at night. lig light danced about the room casting eerie shadows. There were no windows, a small hole in the roof yes, but no windows. The well crafted door was shut out against the rest of the house.
I just sat there returning Marik’s gaze the silence think in the air. He looked worried, maybe afraid, he didn’t take his eyes off of me for a second. I chuckled my voice sounding eerie as a slight echo trailed behind.
“Do you plan on sitting there and staring at me all night Marik?” I asked him as I finally decided to pull back the covers and tuck in.
“I’ll stare at you as long as I want. I don’t know what your game is but I intend to find out. I know your some sort of spirit, how you manifest your self as human is some thing spirits like your self are good at I hear. I don’t know how long you can keep up that illusion but when your magic dwindles, I’ll be there” Marik said as he mimicked my movement to bed.
“How comforting to know… well fine... I don’t care... stare at me all you want, enjoy every view and know that I watch you too” I whispered leaning my head close to the flame passing him a scary look before I blew out the ts ats and the whole room fell in to darkness.
The next morning I woke up before he did and went out to help around the house, it was the least I could do to repay there family for there kindness. I walked out side and helped chop wood, after that was done I helped his father in the hunt my enhanced senses leading me to there desired prey faster.
When I got home Marik was leaning against the door frame watching me, what a smart ass look he had on his face. He thought h had my game figured out. I smirked and hugged Marik saying things like “I am back to your wonderful home my friend I hope you like the kill your father and I caught, though I do say your father is one of the most expert hunters I have ever come across, and your mother lent me a shirt of your I hope you don’t mind, she spins the sews in the most fantastic way”. I laid many flatteries upon him and his family, his parents adored me. But he... he knew I was toying with them, that I was toying with him.
I walked in side and sat down, his mother pouring me a drink of water which I excepted gratefully, his parents bereted Marik for not being more like me, he seethed. I could tell he hated my guts, it made no matter to me.. he would be mine through his own choice or not. I really didn’t care. All I knew was that I wished this boy e mie mine, and so when the time came he would be.
That afternoon a girl came knocking on Marik’s door. I gave a start and fell back…. It was the girl I had wounded, I thought she ws dead. I had attacked and eaten her mother, surely she would recognize me and sound the alarm through the small village and my life would be forfeit. How cocky I was, I thought to my self, to think that I could stroll in to the village of the woman I had attempted to kill, and with no more then a second thought.
The girl fell in to Marik’s arm and told him of the news of her sister’s death, Marik eyed me, noticing my reaction to his soon to be bride.
“Bakura, come meet Michico, here Michico, this is a close friend of mine, his name is Bakura, or so he tells us. Come out of the corner and meet Michico, Bakura” Marik mocked, a grin spread across his face at my discomfort.
I walked up to the girl and saw no recognition in her eyes. This realized a little stress, but did she know I was her killer of her kin. I bowed and flirted with the young women the might have well been my death. I quizzed her with out her knowledge of what had happened to her poor sister. When the conversation I had learned a great many things. The most important of them being that Michico and her father thought it was wolves who had killed their dear ones.
Michico was so taken with my manner she invited me to her house for dinner. That night I waked over to the largest house in the village. Dinner went well but her father was suspicious of me. I think he knew then what I was, yet dared say nothing lest he be mistaken and sentence a poor wretched traveler such as my self to an early death.
I went back to Marik’s home late that night, not wishing to spend the night with her wary father. On my way back I came across Marik, he leaned on a fence not but two houses away from his home. He had offered nobly to escort me. I knew the lie. He still didn’t trust me, no use hiding it; I slung one arm around his shoulder and suggested that we go for a walk. Marik knew I planned some thing, but in his obsession to expose me he over looked the danger to his own personage. Little did I know I was being followed. Michico, was worried I would get lost on my way back and some how get attacked by wolves. She followed me and Marik in to the woods, she watched as I seduced him.
“Marik your shaking, is there some thing wrong, tell me, as you have introduced me, we are good friends” I said to him leading him deeper in to the woods.
“I know your game, I know your up to some thing, please don’t harm any one” he said to me proudly, I have never known some one to plead and still keep dignity like Madid.did.
“What I do is no concern of yours my dear love” I said to him as I led him deeper still in to the dark woods, the shadows casting monsters on the ground as the leaves crunched beneath our feet, the winds still this night as a waxing moon shone over head.
“Love? You consider me love?” Marik asked a slight blush coming over his face as the memory of the previous night came to him.
“Yes I do, I love you, and you are perfect for me are you not. Put aside the petty business of following me around your meager little village. There’s much more out there I wish to show you-“
“And what pray tell can a spirit as your self show me of the world of mortal men-“
“Mortal men as your self, no? Mortal men still have desires and even a spirit has his needs. You still have your need, a need that can’t be satisfied by, mortal means. I promise I’ll take you to places you dream of” I said to him, the desire to escape the small village, to escape his marriage obligation was to tempting to pass up.
“You will really take me?” Marik asked in the manner a small child would ask his parent if he may of the sweets he had his eye on.
“Yes, just be with me; promise you will be my partner through time and space, that you will love me enough to be with me forever. I offer you to be what I am, maybe different since I was born to this and you will be made to this, but you will be of me, and I will be of you” I said to him taking his hands in my own, he watched me…no…I take that back… he looked past me, I was a mere image in the way of his dreaming with his eyes open. He nodded.
I threw my arm around him kissing him deeply my tongunninnning in to his mouth. Feeling what was now mine. He held me tightly and kissed me back, I was beautiful, the night hummed with our love, our determination to do what we wished to do from now on.
Michico had at this point left, she had heard little if any of what we said, all she knew was that we had a deep love for each other and that she had no place in Marik’s life. But being the good person she was, she was happy for him and secretly wished hi the best with his new found lover.
*end flash back*
“Bakura! Foods here…stop hugging Marik and get some!” Ryou chirped happily. I smiled and walked over to get some food, Malik waited till we were finished eating to consume his portion of the meal which we offered him. I’m pretty sure the boy would starve to death if we didn’t.
Tonight we were to try out our new little toy, this was to be very entertaining…
