Chapter 5: Goodbyes and Moving On
The rest of the night at the resturant was a blur except for two things. One having to wait on Mia and her 'college boyfriend' and the other having to to deal with the fact that he could not hide behind their relationship, as pretend as it was, any longer. He and Mia Quit dating a long time ago and were just fri tha that fucked. He was basicly her backdoor man, but he was no longer intrested in that and he had a feeling that she was ready to move on. She now had her college man whose parents happened to be close friends with hers.
Joey had just brought the young couple their desert. "Hey Joey you and Mia are good friends,right?" Keith asked.
"We've been friends for a while." Joey said as he set their deserts and coffee infront of them "Why?"
"I'm trying to convince my girl here that it's ok to be engage now even if we arn't going to get married untill we have our degrees."
"Marriage?" Mia you never told me that you had been thinking about marriage." 'This will make Seto's day' Joey thought with a smirk. "You know Keith Mia will do what Mia wants to do. I can't convince her to do anything. Mow if you excuse me I want to stsrt closing my section so I can leave as soon as possible tonight."
"Hot date?" Mia asked
"I can hope it ends up that way." Joey said with a wink
"Male or female?"
"Male."
"Go Seto. He's finally decided to ask you out? About time."
Later as he was closeing out for the night Mia came up to him.
"Joey can we talk?"
"Sure. I thouht you had left already."
"I told him I lost my watch and needed to see if it was here."
Joey led Mia to a table and her sit down and then sat across from her.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know he was going to ask me to marry him tonigth or drag you into our argument. Who asks someome to marry them when they have not had sex with them yet?"
"Someome in love?"
"You love me."
"But you don't love me, an I love you like a close friend. Anyway I'm not high and dry. I've been trying to think of away to let Seto know that I like him."
"Like? If you say so, more like love. So are we stil friends?"
"Always friends. We have to be we have too much shit on each other."
"Right. Ph I almost forgot. Here is the key to the apartment. Daddy said that you can have it for half rent. Buill sare paid except for the phone. You will need to furnish it, but the kitchen had fridge, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. Now promise me you will get out your dads and take care of yourself."
"I am and I wiil. The lawyer that Tristian's mom refered me to is going to call me Sunday ans set up a time to see me."
"Good I gptta go." she stood up and walked around the table and bends to kiss him on the cheeck. "See you around handsom."
Joey finished up and got ready to go. He was sitting on hos motorcycle trying to decide what to do. 'Tristian was working late with Duke, on store invetory, Mia has ger date, Yuge and Yami have a tendency to make a person feel uncomfortable, Tea is too depressed. What am I doing? I ether want to go to Seto's or I don't. And I want to see him badly.'
With a smile Joey started up his bike and peeled out of the parking lot, heading towards the Kiba mansion.
