Your pain is my pain
The weeks seemed like months, the days seemed to never end.
Yami was sad as hell the whole time and it hurt Yuugi to see him
like that. Yuugi locked himself in the bathroom one day after he
told Yami he'd be right back to give him a good sponge bath.
It's not that Yuugi didn't want to wash him, it's just that he could
feel all the sadness inside of him eating away at him like a sickness
with no cure.
"Why me, why confide in me?" Yuugi cried low so no one would hear him.
"I'm sad for him but I can't stand to see him like that, I just want to shake
him and tell him to stop hurting but that's not the right thing to do." Yuugi
dried his tears and took a wash cloth from the bathroom sink. A few minutes
of Yuugi's gentle hands will sooth Yami's aching body for a while. "I'm back
Yami, ready for your bath?"
"You don't have to do this."
"Yes I do or you'll smell like medical waste for the rest of the day."
"Not that, I mean stay here every second of the day...I'm selfish for
asking you to stay with me." Yami said.
"I don't mind doing this for you." Yuugi said. "I'll do anything for you."
"Then leave for a day..I'll be fine."
"Is there something your not telling me?" Yuugi asked.
"I just need to be alone for a while, clear my head. I haven't
drank or done any drugs since the accident and now I'm thinking
clearly for the first time in years..." Yami looked up at him with a smile.
"Go see a movie or something, I'll be fine."
"Are you sure, If I go, do you have to pee or eat before I leave?" Yuugi asked.
"No honey, you've done enough for the past few weeks, just go."
"I'll see you later then." Yuugi looked at him before he left. Yami didn't show
any sadness. But Yuugi could see through the mask of deception sheilding his face.
"By." yuugi said. "I won't be gone long, and as soon as I get back your getting your
bath, this room smells like shit and advil." He said then left....
