Chapter 4
Yusei landed gracefully on the front steps of the hospital. The reporters out front couldn’t believe what they saw. A Satellite native was actually an angel?
“Angela, tell me you see what I’m seeing. Tell me that’s Yusei Fudo,” a black-haired girl with dorky glasses asked the blonde woman next to her. However, Angela had no intention of wasting her time answering another reporter’s questions. She ran up the stairs as Yusei calmly walked to the front door.
“Yusei-san! Yusei-san! Could you answer a few questions? Like how did you gain wings overnight or what you are really doing in New Domino City?” Angela pestered. Yusei sighed.
“This can wait. I came here to see my friend, not be hounded by reporters. Excuse me,” he said walking past Angela and into the hospital.
All eyes turned to Yusei as he walked through the hospital’s main entrance. He walked up to the reception counter and politely asked the woman there, “Could you tell me what room Jack Atlas is in?”
The receptionist looked stunned by Yusei’s angelic beauty. (A/N: Wouldn’t you? xDDDD) Sighing, Yusei picker up her roster and looked for Jack’s room himself. He wondered if this was going to become a common occurrence. (A/N: Already is, hon!) Finally, he found Jack’s name. Room 532. Setting the roster back down, he thanked the woman, who just nodded with her mouth still hanging open, and walked slowly to the elevator.
Yusei soon reached Jack’s room, turning heads wherever he went. He knocked on Jack’s door, heard a surly, “Go away!”, and opened it a crack. He stuck his head in, Jack shouting, “Yusei! Come to have a gloat, have you?”
“No, Jack. You should know I’m not that kind of person. I just came to see if you’re okay,” Yusei replied. Jack snorted.
“Oh, yeah, peachy. I lost my place as King, it’s gotten out that I’m from the Satellite, and I’m going to be deported back to that dump once my wounds heals,” Jack snapped. Yusei sighed.
“I won’t let that happen,” he said. Jack looked at him, surprised. “I came here not just to get you and Stardust back, but to reunite Neo Domino City and the Satellite. I’m going to need your help. So what do you say, partner?”
Jack shrugged, his anger visibly diffused. “Dunno. Lemme think about it a bit. Just one question: How are you going to get people to listen to you? To them your nothing but filthy scum from the Satellite as well.”
“Because some dormant powers within me awoke last night, and let’s just say, I’m not exactly human,” Yusei replied, opening the door all the way. Jack gasped as Yusei’s pearly white wings came into view. Yusei smiled. “I think they’ll listen to a Satellite-native angel, don’t you?”
Jack nodded, stunned at what Yusei really was. ‘So those ridges on his back were hiding WINGS?’ Jack thought incredulously. ‘Damn,.I wonder how the guys back home would react.’ He paused. ‘Wait, I just called the Satellite home.’ Jack smiled slightly. “You know what, Yusei? I’ve decided. I will help you.”
