I choose you, Pikeru

Ok, thank you all 69 of you who clicked in! Many thanks to my one reviewer, glad you like it! Right, well on to the next. It's a bit odd.

it was a beautiful, silent night, still and peaceful. So calm, not even a gentile breeze stirred the stillness. Such a night seldom comes to duel academy. Such a night is also tremendously boring. One childish spirit wasn’t going to stand for this.

“Hey you! Wake up!”

...No response.

“Wake up Dammit!”

The sleeping slifer stirred slightly, mumbling something about slackers and fried shrimp before turning over and resuming to snore.

The visitor growled, moved closer, then proceeded to yell directly into the slifer’s ear, “WAKE UP NOW!!

It worked! Chazz leapt out of bed, wincing and looking around defensively. “Who’s there? Show yourself!” He commanded with uncertainty.

“Finally. I thought you’d never wake up. I’m bored, entertain me.” The duel spirit of Ebon magician Curran stated.

The reality of the situation took a while to sink into the sleepy slifer. Once he came to his senses, his usual angry demeanor surfaced again. “What? How’d you get in here? And how dare you demand I entertain you! Who do you think you are?!”

“Hmm, to answer your questions, I’m bored, entertain me. You brought me in here yourself after your duel with my master. I’ll do whatever I want, thank you very much. And finally, I’m Curran, now do something please.”

The slifer’s jaw dropped. Another annoying duel spirit to put up with? Oh no, this has to be a nightmare, please, let him wake up soon.

“Well don’t just stand there! Play your x-box or something! Misawa always leaves the tv on for me, and he can’t even see the spirits.” Curran demanded. She snapped her whip for emphasis.

“Wait, you’re his duel spirit? Is he here right now?”

“No, duh! You forgot to take your deck back after today’s duel. Since we’re going to be together for a while, you might as well do something productive and entertain me.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me! You expect me to entertain you, when you belong to him? He put you up to this didn’t he?!”

“No, stupid. I already told you that he can’t see the spirits. He wants you to succeed too much to try and sabotage you like that. Consider this a lesson, never forget your deck. Now are you going to do something interesting?”

Chazz scowled. His sleepy brain soon concocted an extremely half-assed plan he intended to put into action immediately. “That’s it, I’m taking you back to him, right now!”

“Oh really, in the middle of the night, alone? A pretty boy like you is bound to get raped.” Curran stated snidely.

The sleepy slifer just growled out his response, “right now, I’m willing to risk it.” He then snatched up the test deck and stormed outside. He hastily made his way toward the Ra yellow dorm, mumbling under his breath.

“You know, you don’t have to be rude. You could at least try to be friends with me.” The duel spirit murmured lamely.

“I don’t want anything to do with that lousy jerk! Once I take that test I’ll make sure I never have to see that guy again!”

“Such a shame really, he seems rather fond of you.”

At first, that comment didn’t register in the slifer’s mind. After a few long seconds, it hit him hard, and he stopped dead in his tracks. “What did you say?”

“I said, ‘such a shame really, he seems rather fond of you.’”

“Why on earth would you say something so ridiculous?! That guy had it in for me since day one!” This duel spirit’s lies were clearly another trap by that demon spawn tutor, somehow.

“Oh yeah? When Crowler told him he’d be tutoring you, he was so happy. Just like when he first got his Pikeru card. You should be happy he thinks so much of you.”

“I’m not buying any of your lies. Just shut up already!”

The rest of the trip was completely silent. Neither party wanted to talk to the other at this point. At long last, they reached the yellow dorm.

Angry Chazz wasted no time, he beat upon his tutor’s door rapidly until the person in question answered. Much to Chazz’s dismay, he didn’t seem to have been sleeping, and was fully dressed and very alert. He was quite surprised to see his student.

“Ah, good morning Chazz. Have you come to go jogging with me?” A chipper Bastion asked with a smile.

Jogging? Really? At five a.m.? He can’t be serious. Oh well, time to get down to business, “gimme back my deck!”

“Oh, right, well I’ll give you back your deck.” The tutor said, holding it out.

‘Well that was easy,’ the sleepy slifer reached for his deck, but the evil tutor snapped his hand back. Chazz looked up in disbelief.

“I’ll give it back right after my jog. See you in an hour!” He said just before taking off.

“Wait! NO!!” This could not be happening. Regardless, he wasn’t going to get away that easily. Without thinking, he took off after him.

“That’s the spirit!” Bastion called back, increasing his pace.

“Gimme my deck back NOW!”

“Now now, pace yourself or you’ll run out of energy.”

Run out of energy? Clearly the energetic ra didn’t know the extent of his student’s stubbornness. “Get back here!”

“You’re falling behind.”

During all this, Chazz learned something new the hard way. Apparently, running after a fitness fanatic for an hour when you are not in such good shape makes your legs cramp and your lungs burn. Bastion decided to stop jogging near the forest spring, while Chazz collapsed weakly on the ground.

“Good work today, I didn’t expect you to keep up that long.” The tutor said happily.

“Huff... deck... gasp... now...”

“Yes, of course.” He handed the deck back. “Don’t forget, you have class in twenty minutes, but because you did such a good job today, I’ll let you take a card, go on pick one.”

A gasping Chazz seized his own deck, then slowly reached for Bastion’s. Remembering what that annoying duel spirit mentioned earlier, there was only one card he’d want. He slid out that one card, then handed the deck back to his tutor. Smiling, he stated with a confident grin, “see you after class.” He then turned and headed for Duel Academy.

Curious as to what card his student chose, Bastion searched his deck. Shock hit him when he realized what card he took, his very favourite card, White magician Pikeru.

A side note, he leaves the tele on for Curran even though he can't see her because he likes to fall asleep with the discovery channel on. I probably won't get around to adding another chapter tomorrow, so I apologize in advance.
