Session - part 2
Quicker Update this week. Finished the next chapter faster than expected so I thought I would upload it. I know it's not a particularly long one, but it kind of partners the last chapter.
Thanks again for my reviewers.
Cody_Thomas: It good you're finding it funny, means I'm doing a good job of writting this. Thankies.
yaoirose: Got so confused about Joey's b'day. Every site I went on had a different date! (Kaiba's was the same though, weird) At least I got the Aquarius bit right.
KiraRaven: You can't say that Joey doesn't try, bless him. ^_^ Thanks for another sweet review.
*big hugs* for all.
Enjoy...
Kaiba stepped into the next room and observed its contents with distain. Now matter how he tried to look at this, he was about to have a therapy session and he did not like it one bit. Having therapy meant that there was something wrong with him and that was something Seto Kaiba could not accept. The only way this could not be his problem would be to blame it all on Wheeler, which is what he did. This wouldn’t be happening if it wasn’t for that damn mutt! Now because of him he had to endure these “sessions” as well as being chained to the idiot everyday.
“I see allowing you to cool down for awhile had no effect.” Risa commented, accurately reading Kaiba’s mood. “You can come in and sit down, I won’t bite.” Kaiba just narrowed his eyes and didn’t move, instead he continued to the view the room he was confined to. A poster on the wall caught his attention as it seemed some what out of place in the also study-like setting.
“You like Gen Nikaido?” He found himself asking without meaning to. Ohana looked over to where Kaiba’s attention was. A flicker of surprise crossed her face as she realised what he was looking at. The poster advertised a performance of the world renowned pianist Gen Nikaido at the Palladium two weeks from now. It featured a picture of the man himself and it was very obvious why he had the large female fan base that he did. He was an extremely good looking guy with tousled gold blond hair and deep purple eyes.
“Yes I do. He plays beautifully.” Risa answered. Kaiba remained where he was, eyes scanning the image again.
“I didn’t know he was playing here.”
“Yeah, sold out months ago. Have you seen him before?”
“I did while I was in New York. I was over there on business trip and was taken to one of his performances. He is very talented.” Kaiba had been sceptical about going to see him, sure that his raise to popularity had been because of his looks rather than having any actual talent. He had been stunned to find that the man was something of a genius; he had never heard anything like it before.
“He used to play at a club here in town,” Ohana remembered, “that’s where I first heard him, back before he was all rich and famous…now enough of you trying to skirt the subject. Come here and sit down.” Kaiba almost growled low in his throat, he did not like being accused of avoiding things, it implied he was scared and Seto Kaiba was not afraid of anything. Trying to keep his composure Kaiba moves over to the sofa and sits down with his arms and legs crossed. “You really don’t want to be here do you?” Ohana commented after he had sat down.
“I don’t have a problem.” Kaiba replied, annoyed at the very idea that this woman assume that he needed her help for anything.
“Everyone has problems Seto, even you.”
“I only have one problem and you’ve chained me to it.” He conceded.
“Poor Joey, I feel sorry for him, what with all this animosity you throw at him. Don’t get me wrong I understand why you do. It’s amusing that he gets all riled up. You can literally see his ears folded back and his tail between his legs.”
“Then that’s his fault, he should learn to control his temper.”
“True, if he didn’t react so strongly then you wouldn’t tease him. I’m the same with the principal. If it wasn’t so much fun to piss him off I wouldn’t do it. So I get it. I’m not worried about that. You two can work that out on your own. And I’m not worried about getting you to engage in conversation with me as you seem determined to fight against no matter what I say to you. However if there is anything you wish to discuss with me, then I am more than happy to listen and you can be safe in the knowledge that anything you say will be kept in the strictest confidence.” In confidence or not there was no way that Kaiba was going to discuss anything with this woman. He neither needed nor wanted her opinion. He took care of things on his own after all. This whole thing was an absolute waste of his time. “There is one thing I will have to insist on you answering me though. Can you please give me a good quality that Joey has?”
“He doesn’t have any.” Kaiba answered instantly.
“Can you not think of one?” Ohana said almost pleadingly. “Anything at all?”
“No.” Risa sighed heavily at his response and Kaiba couldn’t help but pick out the beginnings of frustration in the action.
“Fine…you can do it has homework then. If you are going to sit there and tell me you can not think of one little thing then you can come back to me with five.”
“Five!” There was no way that was gonna happen. Wheeler was just an irritant, nothing more.
“I don’t care how long it takes you but I want five and the handcuffs with not be removed permanently until you do.” Horrified Kaiba made to protest but Risa held up a hand to silence him. “I consider myself an extremely patient person but you are really pushing it. So I think that’ll be it for today. I hope we can do better next time. You can tell Joey you both can go and I’ll see you tomorrow.” With that she went and pick up the magazine she had discarded earlier, effectively ignoring Kaiba as he paused for a moment at being cut off so abruptly before making his way out of the room. He opened to door to Risa office to see Joey building a house of cards out of his duel monsters deck. By the looks of things he hadn’t been doing very well as he was only barely on the second level. Unfortunately he seemed a bit surprised by Kaiba’s sudden appearance and managed to knock the desk resulting in the collapse of the entire structure.
“Ah damn it!” Kaiba rolled his eyes at Joey picking his cards up off the floor. Honestly how was he supposed to find anything good in Wheeler when this was the general display he was exposed to? He couldn’t see Joey as anything other than a moron as he continued to show it over and over again. Jou needed to demonstrate otherwise if he was ever going to get Kaiba to change his opinion of him, which didn’t look like it was happening any time soon.
“When you’ve finished proving that you have no talent with those cards no matter what you do with them, you can go.” Wishing to get out of there as soon as possible, Kaiba headed for the door, also hoping to limit his time with Joey.
“What’d you say rich boy?” No such luck. Kaiba stopped just shy of the freedom that the hallway offered. He closed his eyes briefly before turning round and locking them with Joey’s angered ones.
“I said we’re done, so I’m leaving. You’re idiocy might be contagious.” Kaiba left, ignoring the sound of Wheeler’s irate voice that seemed to follow him down the corridor. With the way things were progressing, Kaiba didn’t think they were ever going to be rid of wearing those handcuffs.
