Reviews
Tavi: And when AREN’T the Hikari’s in deep shit? It’s fun to put them in trouble and torture them before having the Yami’s show up and save the day~ But actually, if you think about it. This time it’s really the Hikari’s who are ganna ‘save the day.

Ornvinge: hehe. Well, the Yami’s show up in this chapter! I can promise you that. But they don’t really MEET each other until next chapter~ sorry, still have to wait.

Vampirezdarkgurl: ^-^ I think every fanfic writer has done something like that before~ Because it’s just to much fun to write cliffhangers! The only problem is…people write cliffhangers and then…get writers block. And never finish the story T_T I’m doing my best not to let that happen too either of the fics I’m currently writing~

Tellnoone_noonetells: First off, I love your username. It sounds like something one of my friends would say. And second ^-^ why shouldn’t I blackmail my readers? I get what I want, which is yummy reviews~ and they get what they want, which is a very lovely semi long chapter of an interesting fic~ (Hehe, I’m such a review whore. I LOVE to hear how much people enjoy my stories.) because I try hard to come up with something original that people haven’t really thought of before. Or if they HAVE thought of it. I like to add my own little twists to it~

Chapter 3

Ryou groaned as he slowly rolled over. His whole body hurt and he was still tired. He silently cursed the sun for shining in his face. He took a deep breath to let out a sigh but started coughing instead as he got a mouthful of sand. He opened his eyes a little and blinked seeing a long stretch of beach and some trees. This confused Ryou for a little bit because he didn't remember making port. He started to sit up slowly and shivered as a wave rolled up the beach washing under him. It was then that he remembered falling off the ship.

"I survived?" He asked himself out loud, pulling himself to his feet. He looked down at his pants, frowning and brushing off the sand as best he could. He hoped the salt water hadn't completely ruined the outfit Malik had given him. The thought of his friend brought other things back to mind. He had to find out if Malik and Yugi had survived the storm as well. Deciding he'd find out where he was later he chose a direction and walked down the beach hoping to spot either or both of his friends. He hadn't walked far when he heard someone calling him.

"RYOU!!!" Turning around Ryou saw Yugi running through the sand, his hair no longer sticking up quite as much. Ryou hurried over to Yugi smiling slightly when the smaller teen threw his arms around Ryou's middle and hugged him tightly.

"I'm so glad you're alright." Ryou said hugging Yugi back resting his cheek on the other boy's head. "I was so scared when I saw you fall overboard."

"YOU were scared?" Yugi asked looking up at him. "I thought I was going to die!"

"But you didn't." Ryou said, sighing and hugging his friend close again. "You haven't seen Malik have you?" He asked. Though the fact that Yugi was alone should have answered that question.

"Malik got washed over too?" Yugi pulled back staring at Ryou with wide eyes. It was obvious the boy had thought he was alone. Ryou nodded.

"Me and him got washed over together right after you did." Ryou bit his lip hoping that Malik was alright.

"Don't worry." Yugi said. "Malik is a better swimmer then the two of us put together. And if WE survived, I'm sure he did too." Yugi said smiling. Ryou nodded, knowing that Yugi was right. But he still couldn't help but worry.

"Come on, let's see if this island has some banana trees or something and then we'll try looking for Malik." Yugi suggested pulling Ryou towards the woods. Ryou wanted to protest saying they should stay on the beach in case the ship came by looking for them, but his stomach was growling so he decided finding some food was a better idea right now.

------

Meanwhile Malik was leaning against a tree deep in the woods panting as he tried to catch his breath. He had washed ashore drained of energy - too tired to move. Forcing himself to rest a little he had started searching for his two friends before the sun had even come up. Malik had not found Ryou or Yugi, mainly because he hadn't been given enough time to really search for them when he'd run into a strange looking monster. It was small and furry with two large eyes. It would have been cute if it hadn't bit Malik in the arm.

Malik looked down, swearing he would kill that thing if he ever saw it again. He had intended to do just that when someone dressed in odd armor had appeared waving a sword that was on fire. It was then that Malik had taken off running into the woods. It was either that or be chopped up into tiny peaces. So he was now lost in the woods with no idea how to get back to the beach and search for his friends. No idea if the other two were even on this island with him.

Pushing off the tree Malik took a deep breath forcing air into his abused lungs. He looked around, all the trees looked the same. He knew the general direction he had come from. Not wanting to run back into those monsters he continued forward deeper into the forest. "Ra let my friends be alright." He said softly.

------

The great hall echoed as the doors burst open. A figure cloaked in dark purple came in walking to the front of the table and kneeling. "My kings." The figure said keeping his head lowered.

"Intruders, on the island." He looked up. "The others and I await your orders."

"Kill them of course." The one on the left said as if it should have been obvious. The figure looked over at the silver haired king. He would have been the most beautiful out of the three of them but took very little care with his hair, and his heartlessness more then made up for what little beauty he did have. "King Bakura." The figure started but was silenced with a single look from the silver haired king.

"Please Bakura." The king to the far right said. "If you just go and kill them now. We won't be able to have any fun with them."

"Shut it Marik." Bakura snapped. "Things stopped being fun a couple thousand years ago." He growled. The middle king held up his hands silencing the two of them.

"I have had enough of you two fighting! If you do not stop we will NEVER be able to lift this curse!"

Both Marik and Bakura sat back in their chairs glaring at Yami. "You seriously think that there IS a way to lift this Ra damned curse?" Marik asked in a low growl. "If there were, we would have been freed years ago."

"Did you ever stop to think that the reason we are still cursed here is because you two always kill, or torture anyone who steps on this island?" Yami asked narrowing his eyes, looking between the two. "This time, we do things MY way!" Both the other kings looked like they were going to protest at that but Yami had already stood up and looked at the cloaked figure.

"Dark Magician." The figure raised it's head to look at Yami. "You will capture the intruders. But do not harm them. Bring them here." Yami said. The figure nodded and stood.

"Yes my king." Bowing once more he turned quickly and left the great hall. The doors banging loudly as he left. Yami sat back in his chair with a sigh closing his eyes.

"You are the foolish king you always were." Bakura growled standing up. "What do you plan to accomplish by bringing these strangers here?"

"I don't know." Yami said looking up at Bakura. The silver haired king blinked at the look of tiredness that suddenly seemed to appear on Yami's face. "I just want to be free. I am tired of all this pointless fighting. It's been over five thousand years. And though we have grown used to the fact that we must be confined into this castle together until the curse is broken. Do either of you even remember what it was we were originally fighting about that brought this curse upon us?" Yami asked. This took both Bakura and Marik by surprise. Bakura quickly masked his surprise with a firm glare at Yami.

"I don't need to remember the original reason for why we started fighting. But I do know that I still hate your guts, and that's enough of a reason for me to continue fighting." With that Bakura stormed out of the room. Yami turned his attention to Marik who was sitting there holding the golden Rod that he had had crafted out of sure boredom. (A/N: Okay, it IS the millennium Rod. But it doesn't have the power to control minds or anything like that. It's just there because I can't picture Marik without his toy)

"And what are your thoughts?" Yami asked. Marik sat there in silence for a long time spinning the rod around in his hand before standing up as well. "I think whatever happens is going to be a hell of a lot of fun. So I can't complain. And you know I'll behave, as long as things don't get to boring around here." He said grinning at Yami.

Yami shook his head and stood up. It surprised him that, even though he and Marik were far from friends, the two of them got along better then Yami and Bakura did. Yami had found out years ago that the only reason Marik had started fighting for power was he had been bored.

"You will talk to Bakura about this then?" Yami asked not wanting the third king to ruin any chance that they might have to lift the curse.

"You know he listens as well as I do. But I will talk to him. After we see who these intruders are." The two of them left the great hall together. "I will say this, if any of them are ugly, I reserve the right to kill them." This just made Yami shake his head.

-----

Ryou stood at the base of a large tree watching as Yugi climbed to the top. Yugi had always been good at climbing trees so when they had actually found some fruit Ryou had let Yugi, who had volunteered, climb the tree.

"Look out below!" Yugi called and tossed down some of the strange looking fruit.

"Gah!" Ryou yelped and jumped out of the way so the fruit wouldn't hit him on the head. Yugi giggled looking down.

"Sorry Ryou!" Yugi called down and dropped some more fruit making sure it didn't fall anywhere near Ryou. Yugi climbed back down the tree and helped his friend pick up the fruit.

"You're sure this is edible?" Ryou asked as he looked it over.

"It's fruit, why wouldn't it be edible?" Yugi asked. Ryou shrugged and sat down still looking it over.

"I don't know, I've just never seen this kind of fruit before. Have you?"

"No. But this IS a tropical island or close to it. And who knows what kind of fruit and things grow on islands like this." Yugi said sitting down next to Ryou and taking a large bite out of his fruit. Ryou watched Yugi deciding that the smaller boy wasn't turning purple so it must be safe to eat. The two boys ate in silence and were about to start on their second fruit when Yugi heard a twig snap behind him. Frowning he turned around and leaned back so he could see behind the tree.

"Something wrong?" Ryou asked watching Yugi.

"I thought I heard something." Yugi said. Ryou stopped eating and strained his ears trying to pick up the slightest sound. Bushes rustling and another twig.

"Malik?" Ryou asked hopefully but didn't dare call out to see if it was his friend. Yugi put his fruit down and slowly stood up going to walk around the tree. Ryou moved to follow when he suddenly felt a rather large hand covering his mouth. Ryou let out a muffled scream struggling against his unseen attacker.

"I don't see anything..." Yugi walked back around the tree and froze. Standing behind Ryou holding the struggling boy was a large elf. At least, Yugi assumed he was an elf from the pointy ears.

"You two, will come with me." The elf spoke in a deep voice narrowing his eyes at Yugi who stood there looking like he was in shock. "Gaia." The elf said and another 'person' stepped out from behind the tree where Yugi had just been. Yugi turned quickly and stared. Standing behind him was another man, but Yugi couldn't see his face. He was dressed in purple and gold armor. Yugi stumbled back but was grabbed before he could get to far.

"I will meet you at the castle Celtic." The armored man said easily picking Yugi up and jumping up into the trees. Ryou stared up, watching with wide eyes as Yugi was carried away. But what Ryou saw in the sky scared him more then anything. There was a large gold serpent type dragon flying in the sky. And Ryou could see Yugi on it with the other man. The elf snorted and shifted his grip on Ryou dropping his hand away from his mouth, Ryou didn't even have time to scream as the elf took off running at a neck braking speed.

---------

Malik growled as he climbed a tree so he could get a better look around. He felt like he'd been walking for hours and he was SURE he had passed this same tree at least fifteen times already. How that was possible when he was sure he had been walking straight he didn't know.

"Stupid island and stupid trees for all looking the same!" Malik snapped. He didn't know if he was more annoyed with the island, or the fact that he didn't have anyone to talk to. Suddenly a loud roaring sound reached his ears and Malik lifted his head to look further up into the sky. His mouth fell open when he saw a dragon flying over head quickly. He watched it as it flew off. It was then that Malik saw it, a Castle. And it didn't look TOO far away from where he was.

/Maybe someone there can help!/ Malik thought jumping down from the tree. /unless they want to feed me to the dragon/ Was the only after thought as Malik took off running again. He silently promised himself that he was never going to run again in his life. He was doing enough running now to last him MORE then a life time and once he found Ryou and Yugi they would find a way to continue the vacation that was so rudely interrupted by the storm.

"You know..." A voice suddenly said from beside Malik making the blond boy trip over a root and fall face first onto the forest floor. The figure stopped and knelt next to him. "Graceful." He shook his head. Malik looked up quickly.

"Oh Ra. Not ANOTHER one of you guys!" He groaned and sat up moving away. "At least you don't have a sword that's on fire. The figure blinked staring at Malik then shook his head.

"Flame Swordsman, I'll have to have a talk with him." He looked back at Malik and stood. "You are heading to the castle are you not?"

"Yeah But how did you..."

"Because I was ordered to escort you there. The three kings are awaiting you and your companions."

"My...?" Malik was on his feet again. "Ryou and Yugi!? They're here? Are they alright?" Malik asked all other thoughts running from his mind.

"That I do not know. I am not the one escorting them. But I will assure you, if any harm is done to them it has not been by the hands of my comrades."

"alright." Malik said not sure he should trust someone who looked like they were warring a purple dress. "Before I decide to go with you though. Can I ask WHO you are? And where in Ra's name am I?"

"I am known as Dark Magician. As for where you are, I do not think this island has a name any more. If it does then only kings know. I am merely created to serve the kings during their isolation." Dark Magician held out his hand. "Now come. We must not keep the kings waiting. Your comrades shall be arriving there shortly as well." Malik nodded and against all better judgment he took the Dark Magician's hand and they vanished.

----------

Yami stood on the roof of the castle looking down. He could easily see the Celtic Guardian arriving with a young silver haired boy. If Yami hadn't known any better he would have thought that the Celtic Guardian was holding onto Bakura. But upon studying the boy, even from afar, he could tell he was more slender then the hot tempered king.

"I thought you might be up here." Marik said. "You know, it's not fair you get a sneak peek at the toys before I get to see them." Marik said coming to stand next to Yami. He looked down and blinked staring at the silver haired boy.

"oh Ra..."

"I think he deserves to be looked at more closely, wouldn't you agree?" Yami asked smirking at Marik who could only nod his agreement.

"Who needs to be looked at more closely?" Bakura asked still sounding grouchy. But also curious. He came to stand next to Marik and looked down just as the silver haired boy was being brought inside. Bakura blinked having only gotten a good look at the boy's hair before his attention was brought over to where Gaia the dragon champion was landing. The armored man dismounted his dragon holding onto a young boy that seemed to be putting up quite a fight.

"LET ME GO! I SWEAR WHEN I GET MY HANDS FREE YOU ARE SO GONNA GET IT!" The voice traveled up to the kings ears quite easily and Marik snickered.

"Sounds like that one has a bit of fight in him." Marik smirked and leaned over a bit more. "HEY GAIA! DROP HIM ON HIS ASS!" Marik called down. The man looked up at Marik blinking before looking down at Yugi who was still struggling as if his life depended on it. He shrugged and let Yugi go. The boy let out a loud yelp as he landed on his butt and fell back staring up. He blinked when he spotted three figures standing on top of the castle.

Yami stared back down at him eyes slightly wide but his smirk widened. Things were getting more and more interesting. He watched as Yugi was picked back up and brought into the castle. His struggles seeming to stop.

"Is that it?" Marik asked pouting. "Aww, now that's not fair. I don't get a cute little look alike!?" No sooner had the words left his mouth than the Dark Magician appeared, Malik standing right next to him staring at the castle with an open mouth.

"Happy now?" Bakura asked rolling his eyes at the grin Marik now had. The three kings were about to go down stairs and meet their guests when twin cries caught their attention.

"MALIK!" Apparently the boys hadn't been all the way inside when the Dark Magician had appeared with their friend. Ryou and Yugi had both broken free from their ˜captors' and had practically pounced Malik to the ground. Yami blinked watching this, looking confused at the greeting the smaller two had given their companion. He looked at the Dark Magician and nodded before turning and heading downstairs. Bakura and Marik following. Bakura still aiming to kill, or at least maim one of the three boys. Marik looking for some entertainment. And Yami, praying to whatever God would listen that these three boys would unlock the secret to the curse. Because above all else, Yami missed being able to feel like he once did.
