Boarding School

Well, I’m back. I just had nothing to do today. So I figured I’d post a small chapter. I also have a oneshot running around in my head that I’m gonna try to type up today (shameless plug) Thank you to Lightanddarkness for beta reading. You are awesome! And thanx to Dragonlady222, blackdragon, LittleMeh,Broken_Angel, Dragon Speaker, Moondalian (by the way-you complain about cliffies? –sticks tongue out at Moony), Manda, Annie, & Zuka. Thank you. I didn’t think that I would get even one review for this. By the way Moony, the oneshot contains Atemu, Yugi and a mirror. Now what could they do with that?
On with the story

“Blah” - talking
‘blah’ - thinking
dreams

Yugi’s hand shook as he handed Mr. O’Meara the note he held.

“Already Mr. Mouto? You’ve only been here for one day.” O’Meara was clearly displeased. “Very well then, I’ll see to your punishment when I’m finished with the new teachers. Go wait in the hallway.”

Ever since the boy entered the room, Atemu went deathly still and white, eyes never leaving the boy. Disbelief was evident on his face. When he heard the principal talk about disciplining the boy he growled again.

The boy shuffled back by, head down, until he made it out the door. ‘It’s not fair. Why do I always get busted for someone else’s’ pranks. Every time I turn around this happens. These guys know when the teachers are looking and when their not… What was that scent in the office. I recognize it from somewhere. It smelled so nice. Oh well, maybe I’m as crazy as everyone seems to think.’

Yugi glared at the wall. The tears he wouldn’t let fall stinging his eyes.

Back in the office, Atemu was having a hell of a time trying to keep his legendary temper in check. He was pissed. He was torn between killing the principal for harming the little angel who had just walked out, and killing the person who had tried to tell him of his betrothed’s death. Pissed off didn’t cover the half of it.

Seto noticed this, and quickly nudged the principal’s mind. He stopped in the middle of his speech and closed his eyes.

“Atemu?” Seto questioned his cousin.

“I knew it, Seto, that was my betrothed. He’s alive! They couldn’t tell me he was dead because he wasn’t. And I knew it. He’s mine and I’ll not let anyone harm him.” Atemu glared at the sleeping principal.

He had only gotten a glimpse of those amethyst jewels, and already he was hooked. The boy, his boy, was absolutely beautiful. And he’d be damned if he’d let this old man, or anyone else touch him.

“Since Atemu is showing signs of Aemohan jealousy over the boy, I’ll see what I can do about getting him closer to his little toy.” Seto smirked at his friends.

Bakura and Marik smirked back at him. They both knew first hand about the jealousy that comes with finding the perfect mate. This time it was Atemu going through it. And to them it was funny.

Seto walked up to O’Meara. “You will put Atemu with Motou in our room arrangements. And you’ll forget all about little Motou’s punishment, too. You called him down here to lead our tour. You were to busy to do it yourself.” Seto whispered to the entranced principal.

O’Meara came to, looking around. “Now where were we? Ah yes, accommodations. Marik, you and Bakura are to take room 310 at one end of the junior hall. Seto, as you requested, you and Jou will take room 390 at the other end of the hall. You are responsible for catching people sneaking down the stairs. Atemu, that leaves you without a roommate, and I don’t have room enough to leave just one person per suite. Therefore, you’ll room with a student. One I seem to be having problems getting through to. His grades have slipped dramatically and he is always in trouble. His name is Yugi Motou. Maybe you can tutor him after hours. Is that acceptable to everyone? “

“Mr. Motou ought to be here right about now.” O’Meara strode over to the door and peeked outside. “Come on in here Mr. Motou.”

Yugi was freaking out. Why were these people still here? Was he to be used as an example of what happens to students who misbehave? Knees shaking, he started to walk towards the desk.

A tan hand shot out and grabbed his wrist. Amethyst eyes widened as he looked into fierce crimson. The owner of those beautiful eyes shook his head once, and then dropped his hand.

The principal, ignorant of the exchange, turned around and asked Yugi what he was waiting for. Didn’t he hear him when he said to give the new teachers a tour of the facilities? Yugi looked at O’Meara. Had he heard right? He wasn’t going to pass up the chance. So he took a deep breath to calm his nerves and said,

“Ri-right this w-way.”

Then, head down, he exited the room as quickly as he could. The others followed. When they stepped into the elevator, Marik nudged Bakura.

“I think we’re gonna skip out on this tour. We already know our way around this place. Classes start next week, and we need to check out the material.” Marik said.

Bakura agreed,”Yea, and I gotta check on… uh I’m checking over my stuff too.” He finished lamely.

Yugi didn’t even look up. “O-okay”

The elevator doors opened to the third floor and Bakura and Marik ran off to the left arguing about who was going where first.

Seto then spoke up,” I don’t know about you to but I want to review the material and check out my accommodations, so I’ll pass on the tour too.”

He turned and stalked to the right.

That left only Atemu and Yugi. The prince looked at his betrothed. ‘Beautiful’ he thought. ‘So this exquisite little jewel is my betrothed. I wonder what he is like.’

“I guess that you and I are going to be roommates. Maybe we should start there.” Atemu said.

“Uh, sure. If that’s okay with you.” Yugi looked up at him. He couldn’t believe that the other boy had the same color eyes as the person that was haunting his dreams for three years. And that he was in fact a ‘he’.

‘No’ Yugi shook his head, ‘I’m not gay. That’ll just make my life that much harder. He is not ultra sexy, not to me. God, I can’t think like this. Everyone hates gay people.’

They continued down the hallway in silence, with Yugi arguing with himself the whole way. When they came to their room, he unlocked the door and went in first.

On first glance, the room wasn’t much. A metal futon couch sat in front of a small TV, an old table with two chairs in the corner next to a mini fridge, and a small hallway leading to a bathroom and bedroom. Small, but comfortable.

“Well, it’s not much, but I call it home for now.” Yugi said.

“Since you brought it up, why are you here?” Atemu asked.

Yugi looked at him for a while before answering in a small voice. “This is where I was sent when my house blew up two years ago. It was some sort of freak gas explosion, at least that’s what they said. I don’t know if I believe it. Anyways, my grandfather…was still inside…when it..Uh, when it went up. H-he didn’t make it.”

S-sorry, I’m b…being such a cry b-baby.” Yugi couldn’t hold the tears back this time. “I jus...just wonder wh-what life would be (hic) like if h-he was still here.”

Yugi had never broken down in front of another person. He was so used to plastering a smile on his face and saying that everything was fine. He was totally mortified at his behavior.

“Shhh, little one. You’ve just gone through too much for one person to handle alone.” Atemu walked over to Yugi, and took him in his arms. “It will get better, someday.”

As soon as Atemu started to put his arms around Yugi, he stiffened and backed away.

Giving Atemu a wary glance, he ducked his head and said,” I can deal with it myself. I-I don’t need your pity. Would you like that tour now?”

Atemu put his arms down at his side and nodded, not taking his eyes off of Yugi. He was wondering why the boy was so defensive. They walked back out of the room, Yugi locking the door behind them. And continued the tour in silence.

Bakura and Marik knew right where to find their little lights, as they called them. They had kept in contact with them for four years. Having met them by chance, when they were exploring the human world. Both boys had even helped when their lights went through their molting last year. They even taught the lights to hide their wings. It was the best year of their lives. Hiding the little ones in the deepest part of the Aemohan palace, so they could be close at hand.

Eventually, the little ones had to come back to the human world. Now the two Aemohans knew why. And that was what their discussion was going to center on. This little secret pissed both Marik and Bakura off. It was like their counterparts didn’t trust them.

Knock. Knock.
“Ryou, answer the door, I’m busy.” Malik called out to his friend in the bedroom.

“Yea, busy playing video games. I was unpacking, you dork.” Ryou stuck his tongue out at Malik before he unlocked the door.

When he opened the door, he fought back the urge to shriek and throw himself into one of the visitor’s arms. Instead, his dark brown eyes lit up and he smiled brightly.

“What are you two doing here? I didn’t think we’d be able to see you for at least six months. Not that I’m not happy, but how? Why? What happened?”

Bakura smirked at him, “I don’t know if we should tell you. After all, you kept a pretty big secret from us.”

Ryou and Malik shared a glance that said it all. Oh shit!

“But seeing as we trust you, the prince is having difficulties at the palace, so we took an extended vacation. He’s with us, by the way. Oh, and he ran into someone that was supposedly dead. Neither of you would happen to know anything about that, would you?” Marik asked.

“Ah, eh he, yea, I guess we might know something about that, now that you mention it.” Malik replied, scratching his head.

Marik tipped Malik’s face toward his,”Well, why didn’t you tell us? Did you not trust us enough?”

Ryou answered from in Bakura’s arms, “We were told to tell no one of the prince’s whereabouts. So we didn’t. Hey, how did you… Oh right, their betrothed. Sorry, I forgot about that.”

“So that explains it, Prince Atemu found Yugi.” Malik looked between the two Aemohans for confirmation.

“Yes, little light, that about sums it up.” Marik replied. “So, what do you two do for fun around here?”

“We’re taking the bedroom!” Bakura yelled as he scooped up Ryou and darted into said room.

“Hey, that’s not fair!” Marik pouted.

“Well, there’s always the futon.” Malik blushed as he looked at his lover. “That is, if you’re interested.”
“Oh, I’m definitely interested.” Marik pulled Malik to him and kissed him thoroughly.

Marik deposited him on the futon and flipped it out so there was enough room for the both of them. Then he tackled the younger one and proceeded to pull the clothes off his body.

Seto walked into his room and turned on the lights.

“Oh my gods!” He exclaimed.

There in the middle of the room, was Jou, naked as the day he was born. With a huge OOC grin on his face, Seto turned and locked the door.

“Have you been waiting long, puppy?” He said as he wandered over to his lover.

“Now that you mention it…” Jou replied, easing Seto’s coat off his arms. ”I’ve been waiting for quite a while, and I’m cold and lonely. Care to warm me up?”

“I never thought you’d ask.” Seto pulled him into a deep kiss.

They slid back down on the mattress, Seto still fully clothed.

Jou said “I think you’re a little overdressed.”

Yugi gasped as a warm breath misted over his ear. Nipping gently at the lobe, the man above gave a purr of approval as Yugi sighed. Hands trailed down his body, testing the softness of his skin. Both bodies moving in sync. The slick feeling of another inside of him. Yugi arched off the bed when the man hit a spot deep inside of him, sending waves of pleasure shooting through his body. Wait... MAN?

Amethyst eyes shot open as Yugi looked around the room with a sign of relief. It was a dream. He tossed a look in his roommate’s direction. Still sleeping. Good.

“Man, that was the weirdest dream I’ve ever had. Me and … him? I’m not gay. I had a crush on my best friend Anzu back at my old school. I don’t normally look at other guys. Do I?”

Yugi’s thoughts chased each other around in his head. He shook his head to clear it, yawned and decided to start his day early. Maybe he could get breakfast before everyone else got there. Then no one would be able to pick on him or get him into trouble.

“ngh, is it morning already?” Atemu scratched the back of his head, trying to wake up. He looked over at a wide eyed Yugi.

Yugi shot out of bed, saying “I’m gonna take a quick shower.” Before slamming the bathroom door and locking himself inside.

‘Oh god, I can’t face him like this. I’m still hard from that dream! This is just so wrong.’ He sighed again, ‘cold shower it is then.’ He turned on the shower, undressed, and jumped in.

Atemu was still sitting in bed. He couldn’t understand why the little one was so skittish. He had been like that all day yesterday. Now it looked like he was going to be like that today too.

He stretched, and walked over to the dresser to pull out what he needed for his shower. As he finished, Yugi peeked out of the bathroom.

“Would you mind turning around for a minute? I forgot my clothes.” He said timidly.

“Of course not.” Atemu replied as he turned his back to the room.

He heard Yugi scramble over to the dresser and rifle through it.

Crash!

“Oh shit, I mean shoot!” Yugi exclaimed “I knocked the picture off the dresser.”

‘Now I’m gonna get it. Why did I have to room with one of the teachers? ’ He thought.

Atemu turned around to see shattered glass all over the floor. And a blushing Yugi, clad only in a fluffy white towel. Atemu slipped the shoes on that were under the bed, and walked over to the boy. Slipping an arm around him, he picked the little one up in his arms and carried him away from the glass.

“Hey! What are you doing?” The boy started to struggle in Atemu’s arms.

“Stay still little one, there’s glass everywhere, and you have no shoes. So, I’m going to carry you and your clothes to the bathroom.” He responded. “You get dressed and I’ll clean up the mess, okay?”

He dropped the bundle of clothes on the toilet, and let Yugi’s feet drop. Yugi slid down his body until his feet hit the ground. With his arms still around the prince’s neck, Yugi felt his heart kick into high gear. As he looked up, he noticed that his new roommate’s lips were only inches from his.

Face still burning, he untangled his arms from Atemu and mumbled his thanks.

‘He fits so well in my arms. But he’s so skittish. If I find out that anyone’s hurt him, they’ll get a one way ticket to the shadows! I’ll just take it slow, until he warms up to me. But no matter what, he’s mine!’ The prince thought to himself.

A smirk appeared on his face. He’d just send the boy some more mental images of the two of them together. Maybe then he’ll get the hint. Let the little one see what he had been dreaming about since he’d met him.

A knock sounded at the door. Atemu had just finished sweeping up the rest of the broken plate. He dumped the glass in the trash, and answered it.

“Yes?”

Jou bounded into the room and sat down, Seto not far behind.

“We’re going down to breakfast. Ya wanna come with us?” Jou said.

“I’m finished, bathroom’s all yours.” Yugi called.

“Oh, h-hi” Yugi ducked his head when he saw that there were visitors.

“You must be Yugi, nice to meet you. I’m Jou. The grouch over in the corner is Seto. Oh wait, you two have met already, right?” Jou said as he walked over to Yugi.

The boy flinched when Jou held out his hand. Jou, puzzled, took the little one’s face and tilted it up to meet his eyes. “I promise I’m not gonna bite you.

“Sorry, I’m-I don’t like people touching me. They tend to think that I’m a punching bag.” Yugi mumbled.

At that comment, Jou raised a brow.” Its okay, that may have happened in the past. But we’re here now. They won’t get to you without a fight from us.”

Yugi couldn’t believe it, people who were offering their friendship to him. He hadn’t had any friends since the two who had just vanished last year. No one knew where they went. Now he might have someone to talk to.

“Atemu, get your butt in the shower so we can get some food. I’m starving over here.” Jou said

The prince chuckled as he walked into the bathroom. Jou would be good for Yugi. With his upbeat personality and protective nature, he could just bring the little one out of his shell. And, he smirked, into his arms.

He washed up, brushed his teeth and was ready to face his first day in a boarding school. Hell, first day in really any kind of school. Even if it was as a teacher.

“Let’s go, some of us are starving here.” Jou whined.

“Coming” Atemu answered.

They locked up, and went down to breakfast as a group. The two teachers were called away to meet with the rest of the faculty. So Jou and Yugi went to the cafeteria by themselves. The cafeteria used to be a restaurant before the hotel had closed down.

Jou quickly grabbed what he could reach, and wandered out to get a table. Yugi got stuck behind a couple of chatty girls who were more interested in discussing the looks of the new teachers than picking out their food.

Finally, Yugi was able to move around them. He was so happy to actually get breakfast. He usually ate leftover dinner that he snuck up to his room. The thought of being down here while the teachers had their morning meeting was not a good one. He learned that the first time.

Just as he spotted Jou at a table, he was hit in the side of the face with a glob of oatmeal. He reached up to wipe it off. As he did so, he saw another glob headed his way. So he ducked, the glob hitting a rather large senior at the table behind him.

‘Oh shit!’ he thought.

More globs came flying from different directions. He had nowhere to go this time. Splat! Both globs hit his uniform from different sides. He scooped it off of the side of his jacket. Then he looked up. The senior who had been hit was looking for the culprit. Yugi was the only person with oatmeal in his hand at the time.

‘Oh god, not him. Please, let this be a dream.’ Yugi chanted to himself as he closed his eyes.

The senior that the oatmeal had hit was none other than Ushio. The biggest, literally, jerk in school. He wasn’t here because his family was dead. He was here because his family couldn’t handle him. Neither could the state. It was widely known that he would end up in jail in the not so distant future.

Ushio stomped over to where Yugi was standing. He snatched the boy up by his collar. Raising his fist, he drew back and…

“Enough! Who started this mess?” Principal O’Meara yelled.

Half a dozen hands pointed straight at Yugi, who was being put back on his feet. Ushio whispering revenge in his ear. Yugi stared at the ground thinking about the punishment he would get from the principal, and the pounding he would get from Ushio.

‘Great, two people after my ass in one day. Lucky me’ he thought.

Thanks again to all the reviewers, oh and please review? I do like to hear peoples opininons (even if it's about me making an ass out of myself).
