Feelings were never supposed to mix with work. He had made that mistake once, and wasn't interested in doing it again. His feelings had brought him
there and, at last, it was driving him out. If only Kaiba hadn't been his last job.
His friends never knew where exactly he was, only that he had started a
road trip in America and was currently in Vancouver. Since he often travelled for his 'assignement', once or twice a year he ended up in North America anyways, and could see his friends. They never questionned his alibi.
Half past two he sat down, trying to rest his body the best he
could. Sleep wasn't something he could afford. With a job like his,
dreams were the price to pay for the atrocities that he’d committed. He’d never be able to sleep quietly, knowing that, at any time, he could be
eliminated to 'clean' up the evidence of his existence.
He ~couldn't~ dream anymore ... he’d never dream again after what he’d done. If only .. no; those were the words of a loser.
It all had happened because it had had to.
Damn; he had been lucky all his life, and now it seemed as if Fate had finally shown him why she had done that. Only one mistake and his life had been drastically changed for ... life. Irony wasn't something he liked to
deal with.

"So now boy, thinkin' about leavin’ me here now that ya're all
intelligent and all that shit ? Think yer old pops is too dumb to get
what you were thinkin' ? Well nice try, boy, but ya ain't leaving this
ship soon."
"Dad, stop!"
Thrown from one end of the shack to the other, Jounouchi layed down, trying to block the next hit.
"And why, boy? To let ya run away? I'll always catch you, boy, never
forget that! You're trash, shouda left ya go with yar bitch of a
mother, boy, but even she knew ya were trash. Should simply take ya
down. Yeah that's what I'll do."
Jou’s eyes widened in fear. He couldn't .. he wouldn't. His fatehr
walked up to him, taking the one thing out of his back pocket that
he didn't wish to see.
"Yeah, ya got it, boy; you'll get a big bad bullet through yer thick
head. Now stay still ..."
The first shot took him by surprise but despite his fear he managed to dodge it, the bullet encasing himself into the old discolored wall.
His adrenaline kicking in, Jou tried to run away from the second shot. Years of gang fights and home abuse had given him quick reflexes, and soon he found himself fighting with his father for the gun.
They fought fast and hard as the shoves were given, one person trying to remove the weapon, the other trying to end a life that he’d helped to create. And then "BAM", the gun fired. With horror and a tragic sense of slow motion, Jou watched his own father’s brains scramble in the air, the blood gushing out at a fast pace as the only eyeball still in place looked
right at him.
The body maded a ressonating thump as Jou slided down the wall, more afraid than he’d ever been in his life.
He didn't knew what to do, where to run, who to ask help to ...
No, he couldn't ask Yugi; he would probably freak out and would never want
to talk to him again. He was a killer, even by accident. Then who? Taking
deep breath, he sought for the only one he knew could help him at
the moment.
