Chapter 4: Awakening
"That was a great movie Jounouchi!" says Anzu.
"I usually don't go for baseball movies, but that one was very funny!" comments Honda.
"I'm going to rent part 2 later. No, on second thought, I'm getting the entire series!" exclaims
Yugi.
"Ah, arigatou, minna!" I say before glancing at the clock.
8:55....
"Damn! I'm going to be late!"
I don't want him to think what I said earlier was for nothing!
I gather my belongings and run towards the door.
"Where are you going?!" yells Yugi.
"I hate to cut this short, but I have other plans after this."
"What plans?!" they seem to ask at the same time.
"I have something to do with my dad..."
Liar.
I quickly leave from Yugi's before they can ask any more questions. Chakra Lane...
I've been on Chakra Lane before... I've seen Kaiba Manor... Never have I had the
nerve to step inside its iron walls, even in broad daylight. There's just something so
intimidating about it.
I walk to the gates and put the passcode in.
'Katsu-chan, when you get to the gate, put this passcode in and the gates will open.'
Indeed, they open and allow me access onto Kaiba territory.
The walk from the gates to the front door seem to take forever, but I finally make it,
more nervous than anything.
*knock knock*
The door opens revealing a butler on the other side.
"How may I help you sir?"
"I'm looking for Kaiba-kun." I say about to shake out my shoes.
"Izono, is that Jounouchi? Let him in." I hear Kaiba yell from a distance.
I walk in, now overwhelmed at the actual size of this mansion.
The butler leads me into another room, the den I guess...where Kaiba is sitting in a
recliner, reading a book.
"Leave us alone please. I care not to be disturbed."
"Yes, Seto-sama."
"Be sure no one disturbs us. Now Katsu-chan, have a seat."
I slowly walk to a second recliner next to his and sit. I hear the door close and a
click... Am I locked in here with him?!
"I'm glad to see you here." he says putting a bookmark into the book and placing it
on the table.
"I didn't want to mess things up."
"You...didn't want to mess things up...with me?"
"I know you didn't expect me to show up, but I am a man of my word. Besides, I'm
determined to make this happen."
"Me too, Katsu-chan."
"I'm not fond of being called that."
The way he's acting makes me wander if he has many friends...if any.
"Sorry, Katsu-chan. I can't help but to call you that. I hate to seem so aggressive, but
I am really in love with you."
Eh....?!
"Wait, wait, wait. Let's just be friends. I'm not into the male/male thing."
"One time with me..."
"And what Kaiba?! It will miracously change my mind?! Look, I just came over to
get to know you better. That's all!"
He smiles. "That's fine."
"So, what do you do outside school and work? I never see you with other classmates
or hanging out."
He looks down and figets with his fingers. Did I ask the wrong question? I may have
struck a nerve...
"Kaiba...sorry for asking that..."
"No. It's fine." he says interrputing me. "It's just that I don't have time for friends. Besides,
most of our classmates are intimidated by the power I have an just don't want to talk to me.
Besides, my stepfather raised me to not trust anyone. 'If they don't help you succeed, then
they are your enemy. All enemies are to be crushed relentlessly.'"
I never knew he had it so bad... It makes my life look like a cakewalk.
"Kaiba...I didn't know."
"I was homeschooled along with Noa and Mokuba. Of course, Mokuba had it much
easier than Noa and I. Every night, I used to watch as Gozaburo raped Noa, then raped
me. Back then we knew no better and Gozaburo brainwashed us by saying this is how the
world rewards a job well done. That sick yarou!"
"Seto..."
"He even made me and Noa fuck each other while he watched and jacked off! If he didn't like
what we did, he would make us do it again!"
I gasp. Who knew he lived in a screwed up home like that...he makes sense now. Every
question I ever wandered about him is being answered.
"Seto, don't say anymore." I say standing over him.
He looks up as tears stray from his blood-shot eyes. I kneel in front of him and wipe the
tears from his eyes.
"Kaibas don't cry."
"You are not a Kaiba. You are a human being who has lived with Satan himself! You
deserve to cry for whatever reason you feel! Don't let a family name determine anything
about you!"
"Katsu-chan, I look like a wimp now." He says wiping his eyes. "Sorry."
"It takes a bigger man to shed a tear than to hold one back."
I kiss him on the forehead and smile. He smiles also.
"Arigatou, Katsu-chan."

Kaiba's been through hell and back... No wonder he acts the way he does. How does
Jou eventually come around to liking him and then them dating?? You just have to read
