FKH: Okay if I get at least 5 reviews (or one that makes me REALLY happy) I promise I nice big juicy lemon for you in the next chapter. Anywho, here’s the next installment.
Bakura gawked at the form in front of him. The boy lay sprawled out with his lips slightly parted as slow breaths came and went from the small cavern of his mouth. His eyes were closed and rested gently on his flushed cheek. His was head tilted slightly to one side with his long platinum locks matted against his pale face with sweat. The delicate rise and fall of his chest was barely hidden under the thin over sized shirt that looked to be thrown on in a haste; the buttons and loops matched incorrectly.
“He’s beautiful,” Bakura thought as he stepped closer to the boy. He reached his hand out and hesitantly brushed the locks of hair from his face. “So beautiful,” Bakura added, a smile almost on his face.
~* Bakura’s POV *~
Being in that room for so long seeing anything that wasn’t black was a welcome change. What surprised me was the boy in front of me. He resembled me greatly but he had more boyish and innocent features. Slowly he began to twitch around and move his head, moaning ever so slightly as he jerked at his bindings. I watched as little beads of sweat rolled down his creamy cheek, down his neck and rest on the collar of his shirt; making it grey like the room.
//He must be having a nightmare,// I thought. I moved my hands to his shoulders and gently began to shake them as his movements became greater and more desperate. “Wake up,” I barked.
~* Ryou’s POV *~
It’s so dark and gloomy here. The rain just keeps falling. Everyone’s gone…..I’m all alone. Nothing’s here. Just me and the rain. There’s not even ground. Where am I? I’m scared……”
~* Normal POV *~
Ryou turned as he heard footsteps echoing in the abyss. Slowly a silhouette came into few. It came closer and closer until he could make out the face. Bright green eyes and long white hair.
“Mother!” Ryou cried.
More noises came from behind and Ryou turned again.
“Mama, what’s that white stuff on the ground?” A small white haired boy asked.
“That’s snow, Ryou,” the woman answered.
“It looks like your hair,” little Ryou smiled. “Your hairs pretty like the snow.”
“Owie! Mama, I hurt my weg!”
Ryou turned at the sound of more voices. Before him was a two year old version of himself clutching at his reddened knee.
“There, there, Sweetie,” Ryou’s mom said as she placed a cool cloth on it then a Band-Aid. She kissed it then looked up at her teary eyed son. “Does it feel better.”
“Uh-huh,” the little Ryou nodded.
“Mama, read me a bed time story.”
“Okay. This is the one about the Pokey Little Puppy.”
“I like this one.”
“Once upon a time there was a pokey little puppy….”
“Oh Ryou! Careful, you’ll burn yourself!”
“Ow! It’s hot! Mama! My finger hurts!”
“Shh….Mommy will make it all better.”
“It so said too,” and unfamiliar voice said.
“The poor thing. She was so young,” another agreed.
“And that beautiful son of hers,” replied the first voice.
“It’s gonna be tough on her husband,” a different voice added. “It’s hard growing up without a mother.”
~* Outside of the dream *~
Ryou’s head snapped up and he panted heavily, large beads of sweat rolling down from his brow. He stared up at Bakura with his large brown eyes.
“W-who are y-y-you…?” Ryou stammered, still not having enough air.
“I’m Bakura,” the nearly identical boy answered. “You are….?”
“R-ryou,” he answered jerking at the chains. Panic streaked across his face. “How do I get these things off of me?” Ryou questioned while his tugging became more frantic.
“Calm down and return to your body,” Bakura answered. Ryou nodded and closed his eyes. Bakura watched as his body be more and more transparent until he was no longer tangible.
~* Ryou’s POV *~
I slowly sat up as I held my head trying to get my bearings.
“That was a weird dream,” I mused. Then I noticed the ring still hanging from my neck. I touched the tips of my fingers to the eye and the boy from my dream appeared.
~* Normal POV *~
Saying Ryou was surprised was an understatement. He nearly jumped out of his skin and died when his near twin suddenly ‘poofed’ in front of him.
Bakura looked up at Ryou, each of them giving the other the same confused look. Slowly they both reached their hands out and placed their palms together.
“I feel like I know you…..” Ryou said just above a whisper.
“Me too…..”
FKH: Sort of cliff hanger! What will happen now that the two are together? Review and flame. I’ve been planning a bon fire.
