The heat is on...........

Mai doesnt say anything, she just stands in front of setos door silently. How did he know?
The tension between the two is intense. Mai wraps her finger around her long blonde locks and squirms.

"uh how did you know?" she mumbles.

Seto raises his eyebrow slightly. "Im not stupid you know Mai" Kaiba replies solemnly.

"Oh" Mai replies a little surprised.

Kaiba fails to tell mai that it was his little brother who overheard her talking to herself in the hall therefore telling kaiba about it. Mai walks up to kaiba slowly.

"Well" she begins. "we must have been sleeping togther longer than we both thought because..." Mai holds in a breath.

Kaiba is sweating. Mai doesnt know that if she is preganant kaiba will accept the responisbility afterall hes not a wimp.

"the test was positive" Mai lets out a breath in slight releif.


Kaibas eyes widen. "how did this happen i mean we were so careful?" Kaiba winges walking up and down the room.

"hey its me who will be carying it and you can still go on with your life if you want" Mai forces a smile.

"Its still early days aswell and..." Before she could finish her sentence kaiba walks to face her and interrupts by saying

"what you think im gonna let you raise the kid on your own?"

Mai looks confused.

"well uh" she stutters.

"No Mai i got you into this and its my job to take it like a man and deal with it".

Mai then strokes her right hand down his shirt.

"so this means we are ok?" she smiles.

"what do you think?" Kaiba replies smoothly Wrapping his arms around her.

The next morning Seto awakes to a knock on his door. Mai's in his arms asleep. She was pretty releived that kaiba took the news the way he did. Kaiba lazily slips out of bed to answer the door knowing who it would be.

"Uh hey" Mokuba walks in.


He wanted to see what happened last night with him and mai.


"Yes she is Mokuba is that what you wanted?" Kaiba rolls his eyes.


"Oh really well what are you going to do?" mokuba asks.

"what do you mean?" Kaiba replies.


"Well is mai keeping it?"

Setos eyes raise. "Offcourse she is you think im going to let her kill an innocent thing?"

Kaiba seemed quite angry that mokuba even thought that. He has always felt strongly about killing ever since his parents died and also deep down is quite happy that he has a chance to be a father seeing as though he never really had one for very long. Mokuba suddenly starts giggling.

"can you imagine it im gonna be an uncle".


"oh yeah" kaiba replies.

He hadnt really thought of that. Afterall there was still nine months to go and it wasnt as if kaiba did not have the money however it was ultimately up to mai because it will affect her the most. Mai rubs her eyes and awakens.

"Oh hi mokuba" she yawns.

"hey mai" Mokuba smiles. "you alright?".

"Yeah why wouldent i be?" she asks confused.

"Well i just thought with you being pregnant and all" Mokuba continues.


"Excuse me?" Mai winces.

She then turns to look at kaiba with an angry look on her face.

"you told him" she slightly growls.

"what?" no mai i told him" Mokuba answers pointing to his older brother, trying to set things straight.

Mai looks a little confused.

"Oh so thats how you knew" She nods her head unsurprised. "your not that smart afterall are you?" she smirks.


Kaiba rolls his eyes. "Mokuba heard you in the hall on the way out yesterday, satisfied?".

Mai gets up out of the bed.

"you heard me?" "i must have been pretty loud".

"no mokuba is just a nosy little shit" Kaiba snarls.

"hey" Mokuba yells back.

"okay guys" Mai interuppts as she throws a purple satin dressing gown on.

"i dont want anyone to know yet okay?"

"why, its good news isnt it?" mokuba asks innocently.

"Well it wasnt exactly planned" mai answers. "noone even knows we are together and its probably best they dont know yet especially joey".

"oh but i wanna tell everyone" Mokuba whines.

"no" kaiba snaps.

"Yeah i mean it was hard enough turning joey down yesterday but to drop this on him well i think its best we wait a while until i know for certain". Mai explians.


"Joey asked you out?" Mokuba asks suprised.

"Ha and you chose my brother over him" mokuba jokes.

"Yeah well as much as i want to rub wheelers face in it i also think its best we wait". Seto adds maturely.

Mokuba nods in agreement before yapping again.

"kaiba does not want you to have an abortion", he blurts out.

"What?" Mai raises her voice.

"Mokuba leave now" Kaiba grunts at him loudly.


"ok fine im leaving" Mokuba sulks walking out the door.

"well im glad you feel that way that because i had no intention of doing that" Mai says in a serious voice.

"look mai" Kaiba walks up to her and hugs her slightly. "i told you i care for you and i want whats best for both of us"

Mai smiles and they both kiss.

A few hours later Seto sits by his computer and begins working.

"i think ill stay here today with you" Mai says getting dressed. "for some reason i dont think joey and me will be meeting up to practice duel today".

Kaiba smirks. "who cares about that ametuer?" im gonna kick his ass anyway".


"hey kaiba hes not that bad you know". Mai replies.

Mai looks down at the varnished floor.

"besides its not like ill need to practice anymore for the finals anyway" Mai sighs.

Kaiba spins around from his chair. "youre dropping out because you;re pregnant?" he asks shocked.

"Well by the time its finished il be pretty fat and ill be quite sick too, with morning sickness and all that swelling to look forward to", Mai explains.

She then moves to sit on his lap.

"one things for sure" she says stroking his neck.

"We are gonna have to let people know im dropping out because im... you know".

"not necassarily i own kaiba corp island, noone has to know but us and the duel organisers". Kaiba informs a worried mai whilst clenching her waist.


"yeah but the truth will come out sooner or later and i wanna tell yugi and the rest before it slips out".


"Mokuba will NOT tell anyone i assure you" Kaiba reassures mai.

"i know but joey will find out so its best that we tell him soon just not yet".

"okay kaiba says.

"next week the finals begin" Kaiba explains.

"theyre going to question why im not in the finals" Mai adds.

"well if your sure then well break the news on monday".

Mai breathes heavily. "okay" she nods bravely. "Monday on the blimp to the island we tell everyone about us and about me".


Kaiba smiles very slightly, hes going to love the look on Wheelers face. Mai wont. Hes just had his heart torn once and now this.
Things will be going from bad to worse very soon for Joey.....

but meh i think thats how they would both re act to the news that shes pregnant..i mean shes gorgeous, hes rich and owns a company
lifes not all bad for them, however for some more characters to come life isnt as pleasant
