Thank you everyone for the wonderful reviews and I'm really sorry this took so long. I've been very busy on other projects.

There was a roar of defiance as the Outsiders came upon the home of the Black-Winged. They flapped their leathery wings as they made the guttural sounds of an impending battle.

“They have no warriors,” the leader said deep in his throat as he lifted up his head, the black leathery skin made a noise as it rubbed against the rough hewn clothing. His orange eyes pierced the landscape as he stared past his beak, curved like a scythe. Instead of fingers claws stretched out of their hands that they swayed as they waited for the taste of blood.

“Hold,” a stern voice warned them as they glanced up to see their opponent.

“It’s only one,” a particularly large Outsider whispered to his leader.

“One or one million, it matters not, for we’ll destroy them all.”

“I think not Gazgulath,” Seraph calmly said as she stood her ground between the Outsiders and the home she was there to protect. Her white dress swayed in the wind as she reached and unsheathed a sword from thin air. The moment it hit the air the blade caught on fire and the flames reflected on her pale skin. “I cannot let you pass.”

“You don’t have a choice in this matter, my dear,” he seethed as he jerked his head, sending one of his men forward.

Seraph approached the Outsider, thrusting her sword into his belly before he had the chance to block it. She pulled it out, and let him drop with a groan as his blood stained her blade beneath the flames.

“Just try and stop me.”

“Yami,” Yugi wrapped his arms tightly around his lover as soon as he showed up, his wings beating excitedly as he relished of the feeling of being in Yami’s arms. Ryou and Jonouchi, however, were not as enthralled at the sight of their masters.

“We need to leave,” Marik said as he wrapped an arm around Malik. “The fight is beginning.”

“But we’re safe, right Marik?” Malik asked as he nestled into Marik’s arms.

“Of course we are,” Seto snorted as he stood there, his arms crossed. “Seraph always does all the fighting. I don’t even know why they train us. It’s not like we’re even part of any army.”

“We are trained for the purpose of protecting ourselves, Seto,” Yami raged as the two pairs of eyes met each other.

“We need to get into the sanctuary,” Marik reminded the other Black-Winged ones and they all nodded their agreements.

“If you think I’m going anywhere with you…” Jonouchi protested but Seto grabbed him and pulled him towards the sanctuary.

When they reached the inside they all stood shocked as Mai stood there with a dour expression on her face.

“Is there something wrong?” Yami quested.

“Everyone of you get ready for battle. Live or die, tonight we fight.”

Seraph swiped at the blood that trailed down her face and smeared it. They were serious, this time, that much she knew as they came upon her with their jagged blades scorred black.

They were wearing her down and it looked like the end as her blood-stained wings sagged and she hit the ground, collapsing to her knees.

A snap through the air dropped the outcast to the ground, leaving only Mai standing there, her whip coated in blood, letting it drip off the tip.

“Don’t tell me some demon got the best of you,” Mai snorted as she stood over Seraph.

Seraph kneeled there, panting as her hair fell over her face. Slowly she regained her footing as her eyes targeted Mai.

“Not until I’m dead Mistress,” she said in an emotionless voice. She stood her ground as the outsiders groaned in guttural voices.

“Yami, I’ve never done this before,” Yugi whispered as he saw his lover nock an arrow back to his ear.

“Just aim and pray,” Yami whispered as he stood still atop the castle, their home that they would defend to the end. “Aim carefully and do not let up,” Yami whispered as he glanced at his fellow black-winged ones and their chosen ones.

“Fire!” Yami yelled and the arrows rained down.

“Aim high and lower your elbow,” Seto said smoothly as his wings brushed Joey’s slightly, his voice calm as usual.

Yugi held his breath and released his first arrow, watching it closely as it pierced the throat of one of the outsiders.

Arrows flew through the air pushing the outsiders back and causing them to retreat.

“What are they?” Yugi asked as his voice shook.

“They were once angels but they betrayed us and made us fall. That is why our wings are black.” Yami shut his eyes as Yugi took his hand.

“Will you protect me?” Yugi asked, his eyes wide.

“Yes.”
