I Apologize
Welcome to the 4th chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing the past chapter. I truly hope that you all are enjoying the story so far. If this isn't making any sense, then read...or re-read the prequel to this fic, "No More Us". Thanks Red Dragon of Egypt for that review. :) Tanoshimu!
Chapter Yon
Yami folds the letter and puts it back into his briefcase.
'Aibou...'
Someone knocks on Yami's door.
"Come in."
The door slowly opens and someone peeks in.
"Jounouchi-kun...come in, have a seat."
Jou walks in slowly, and closes the door, then locks it. He walks to a chair in front of Yami's desk and sits down.
"So...what brings you here?" asks Yami.
"You know why I'm here Atem."
"Umm...I don't know. What's wrong? You've never called me by my true name before."
"I should have been talked to you about this...but I've just been putting it off."
Yami looks at Jou oddly as his firm tone slowly changes to a hesitant one.
"Why Yami...? Why'd you have to start working here and start fucking Seto and now you've got my emotions running circles around my heart!!"
Jou took a deep breath. Yami could say nothing. He didn't know the words to say to him.
"Ra knows I love Seto with all of my heart. To think that I would ever be gay...to think that I would ever be dating him...to think...after 10 years...he would cheat on me. He didn't cheat on me with just anybody...he cheats on me with my best friend's other half, a 3000 year old Pharaoh. Wait...I guess I can't compete with that. Can't compete with that much experience...3000 years experience."
"Jounouchi-kun..." was the only thing Yami could muster up at the moment.
"I guess I'm too damn chieokure no(1) to see...to open my eyes to realize who Seto was really after. Even during that time we kept our relationship secret...he was only using me to get to you. He's Seto Kaiba for kami's sake. He can do whatever the fuck he wants to. I don't care..."
"Jounouchi-kun..."
"Ra, my heart is with that man. Do you understand that?! All the bull I was willing to go through in order to be with him! All the times we made love...I guess he didn't see my face, he saw yours. The times when the two of you dueled against each other was one way of sparking your relationship. Seto knew that after the duel between you and Yugi that you wouldn't go back to your time...he knew that you had that desire to stay with Yugi, especially since you had your own body and no longer needed to share one with Yugi. Seto knew that you loved Yugi, but lusted after him. Hell, I'm sure that Yugi and I were the absent-minded ones in this situation. We didn't know anything. We didn't know what was going on between you two."
"Sumimasen(2), Jounouchi-kun."
"Save your apology for Yugi."
Yami gasps at Jou's comment.
"If I know Yugi like I think I do, he's not accepting your apology either. So, why did I accept Seto's?"
'knock knock knock'
"One moment please." Yami says getting up and unlocking the door. "Kaiba-kun..."
Kaiba walks past Yami and sees Jou sitting in one of the chairs.
"Well, hello koi." says Kaiba to Jou. "What brings you here to Yami's office instead of mine?"
"I was just visiting him before I spend the rest of the day with you."
"Well, so why are we wasting time here? Let's go."
Kaiba leaves the room and Jou follows behind him.
Yami closes the door and locks it. He then sits back in his chair and takes out his GBA SP and continues to play 'Reshelf of Destruction'.
There's another knock at his door.
'Who is it this time?!'
He pauses his game and opens the door.
"Hello Yami!" says Honda.
"Oh...hello Honda-kun, Otogi-kun. Have the two of you come to run me through the ringer too?" Yami says as he escorts them to chairs.
"The ringer? What do you mean?" asks Otogi.
"He's talking about him and Yugi seperating." replies Honda.
"Ohh.... No. I just finished talking with Kaiba about the potential merge with Black Crown, and since I was already here, I decided to come visit you." says Otogi.
"Yea, and I came to pick him up, so I decided to tag along. So, how is Yugi?" asks Honda.
"He's ok...I guess. I haven't talked to him today."
"Is it that bad as to where the two of you aren't talking?!" asks Otogi.
"It's been like that since he regained his memories."
They talk a little while longer about the break-up, games, and whatever else came to their minds. Honda and Otogi leave Yami alone...once again.
"Hopefully now I can get some work done." Yami says locking the door, only to have someone to knock.
'Dammnit! Who the hell is this?!' Yami mentally screams as he unlocks the door and opens it. His mouth part and eyes widen, in simple surprise as the person smiles warmly at him.
"And it's nice to see you too, Yami." he says as he pushes Yami in the door and locks the door behind them.
(1) Retarded (AN: This is a reference from KC Grand Prix series. Can't reveal any more than that. It's sort of a spoiler...)
