Chapter 4: The Decision
“Oh no no no...I can’t do that. I’m out at sea 95% of my life...I mean I only came here because you called on me, pharaoh,” he said a pas passed around the conference room. The other men had left to leave Mako, Seto, and Yami to work out the details.
“That’s the point, Mako. The young man misses the sea with a passion and since I cannot release him from his slave bondage I must look into his best interest and you are the best,” Yami stated, arms crossed over his chest.
Mako sighed in exasperation. “I can’t...I’ve never had a slave before, how am I to treat him, what do I do with him?!”
Yami sighed rubbing his tem, he, he knew Mako was inexperienced with slaves...but to never have had one. “Look, Mako. The boy needs a proper Master; I cannot do this for I have a slave who I must place my full attention to.” Yami shook his head, snapped his eyes at Mako, and said firmly. “Mako, this is final, you will take the boy as your slave. Now follow me.”
Mako sighed in defeat; hefting his spear over his shoulder, he followed Yami out of the room. Seto followed closely behind but nearly got his head taken off as the sharp end of the spear, Mako slung over his shoulder, was placed on its respective perch.
Yami slowly opened the door of his chambers and looked in, spotting Angel sitting on the railing of the balcony and looking out towards the horizon. His long hair was over his shoulder, his slender fingers braiding the long flowing locks. Yami sighed opening the door wider to allow Mako inside the room. Mako walked in, his eyes scanned around the room, noting the many vases and tapestries inside the pharaoh’s chambers. His eyes continued to look about before they encountered Angel’s seated figure. “By the gods...”
Angel heard the voice and turned to see Mako. Angel watched as Mako approached he seemed to relax, as the fisherman reached him. “What...um...what was his name again?”
Yami was about to say when the boy smiled. “Angel...”
Yami couldn’t help but blink in surprise but then smiled. “Success...” Yami turned to the voice and nodded to the priest behind him. “I believe you’re correct Seto

The trip back to Mako’s boat was long, but when they arrived Mako couldn’t help laugh at the joy Angel showed when the Nile came into view. “Well, what do you think?” he asked as his camel came to a stop by the large boat.
Angel clambered down off the large animal and ran towards the water’s edge, looking into the water and breathing in the fresh air. “It’s so beautiful...” he said looking out over the water.
Mako got his camel settle in the boat he went to Angel’s side and nodded. “Yeah, well. Heard you loved the sea...and that’s where I am a big part of the time, so...hope you’ll be happy,” he said rubbing the back of his head.
Angel’s joy could not be mistaken for any other emotion, his eyes shown with tears as he turned to Mako, beaming happily. With a leap of joy, he threw himself into Mako’s arms, hugging him tightly. “I will, I will be happy!” he cheered happily. His happiness slowed to gently rubbing against his master. He looked up at him surprised before looking down at the baggy pants the fisherman wore.
Mako looked down when he felt Angel pull away and glanced down to see the young man’s eyes fixed on his pants. *Oh boy...knew I shouldn’t have eaten those oysters...* he groaned inwardly.
Angel looked up at Mako, fear returning to his green eyes. “Am I to...service you?” he asked timidly.
Mako blinked before smiling gently and placing his arm around Angel’s shoulders to walk him to the boat. “I don’t want you to do something you don’t want...even though we are Master and Slave.”
He sighed as he thought, casting off into the river’s current. “You see, the only thing I want you to do is be happy, and the sea does that. Now I do need help with what I catch for the pharaoh and in keeping repairs in check with my ship, but I can easily teach you that. As for servicing...I mean it’d be nice...I won’t lie to you, but, I don’t want you to do something you don’t want to.”
Angel looked up at Mako in shock; the traders had eagerly tried to get him ‘trained’ for his new master. The pharaoh had even cast a look of lust at him the first night he’d seen laid eyes on him. Here he was now with his new master...the one he was to serve as ordered and he wanted him to make the decision. He looked down at his hands for a moment, his mind was racing and he was confused. However, one thing in Angel’s mind was perfectly clear to him. He had to smile at that...he never thought it would happen to him, but it had, looking up at Mako’s back, watching the muscles flex under the deeply tanned skin...he came to a final decision.
