Chapter 4

DragonBlade: This is the last chapter …please don’t kill me for it being so late. University is insane. Umm …this chapter sucks, it was kind of hard to write since I’m not really in the “suicidal” frame of mind I was the other day. So I can’t really convey the feelings that well. I tried! I really did! Can’t you give me some credit?

Chapter 4

~I don’t think you trust,
In my self-righteous suicide.
I cry,
When angels deserve to die~

A fallen angel in a coffin of white, surrounded by pain painted with red.
Skin the whiteness of ice, framing empty eyes – eyes that see nothing, know nothing.
Rivers of crimson flowing from snow-white skin; lapping at a body made of ice.

Kaiba clutched at the doorframe as his knees grew weak, the colour draining from his face. Before him stood his worst nightmare …

Mokuba’s head lay softly on his left shoulder, letting his black hair drape over the side of the bathtub. His left arm cut open, blood still running from it slowly.

Instead of water filling the tub, it seemed to be filled with blood. His blood had tainted the water, turning it a faded red.

Not moving.
Not breathing.
Not …living?

Kaiba lunged forward, dropping to his knees next to the bathtub. He grabbed Mokuba under the shoulders, pulling him out of the stained tub.

Water splashed over the edge, soaking Kaiba’s white shirt. Pale crimson water pooled around his knees, trailing through the crevices in the tiles creating a sort of perverse mosaic.

“Mokuba?” He whispered, gently shaking his little brother, not wanting to believe that he may be too far gone to hear him.

“Mokuba?” His voice more urgent, the shaking a bit rougher.

“MOKUBA!”

Kaiba looked around urgently, tears starting to trickle from his blue eyes.

“Something to stop the bleeding …something …anything!” He grabbed a white hand towel and wrapped it around Mokuba’s arm, the towel instantly taking on a pink hue.

“HELP ME!” Kaiba screamed, hoping that someone was still in the house.

Luckily there was.

Mina came running; she had just been finishing up for the night when she heard her master scream. She entered the bathroom and stopped cold.

Blood filled the bathtub; blood covered both her masters. Mokuba was stone white, he looked like a fallen angel – lustrous black hair fanned around him, empty gray pupils hidden behind half closed lids, skin perfectly white.

She couldn’t react at first; only able to stand in the middle of the doorway, gaping at the scene before her.

She was snapped from her stupor when Kaiba yelled, “Call an ambulance!”

She nodded dumbly and turned to the phone sitting on Mokuba’s nightstand.

Kaiba pet his brother’s ice-cold cheek fondly.

“Come back to me little brother, you can’t leave me. You’ll be all right; you have to be all right, you can’t leave me. You promised that we’d always be together! Remember that day? You might have been too little, but it was in the orphanage. Remember? You asked if we’d always be together, and I said we would be. Do you remember? You made me promise that I would keep us together; then you promised that you would never leave me. You can’t leave me Mokie, you promised that you wouldn’t. Don’t leave me!”

Seto was still whispering when the paramedics rushed in.
He wanted to fight when they took Mokuba from his arms, he didn’t want Mokuba to go. Mokuba wasn’t supposed to leave him, he promised he would never leave.

Everything moved as if in slow motion. Kaiba stood in the center of the bathroom, watching the paramedics moving about.
They seemed to be moving too fast, or was he moving too slow? It was as if everything was a dream.

Was it a dream?

Kaiba looked down at his hands, stained with Mokuba’s blood.

A dream?

Screaming.

Who was screaming?

Why are they rushing at me? Who’s screaming? Am I screaming?

What are they doing to Mokuba? What are they attaching to him?

Kaiba screamed and threw the paramedics off of him.
They had all backed away from Mokuba, shaking their heads sadly.

“What’s going on?” Kaiba screamed, shoving a smaller paramedic roughly, “why aren’t you helping him?”

“I’m sorry sir, there is nothing we can do,” one explained quietly.

“NO!” Kaiba lunged at his brother’s body.

The paramedics all jumped in shock, too startled at the millionaire’s actions to stop him.

“Wake up Mokuba! You’re not gone! Remember! You can’t be dead! You promised you wouldn’t leave me!” He screamed, roughly shaking his brother.

He continued to fight as they tried to pull him away, screaming incoherently.

A sharp pain startled him and he turned on the small female paramedic behind him, “what the fu …c …k …” the tranquilizers took effect immediately, dropping the large male to the floor.

“D.O.A …poor little guy, so young. I wonder why?”

“It’s sad when someone so young feels the need to do this to themselves. Damn shame.”

DragonBlade: Don’t hurt me *hides*. My friend Katsuki didn’t want me to kill Mokuba, but I couldn’t come up with a happy ending that actually fit the story line, so I had to kill Mokuba. I have nothing against Mokuba, I love the little guy, but …I don’t know …I’m messed up. Umm …review?
