best! All your support is welcomed and greatly appreciated! I know that most of you are in question as
to what Yugi is going do to when he gets back to Domino City, but that's for me to know and you to find
out later. (Chapter 37 to be exact) But as promised, you all will get an Atemu POV chapter. Enjoy!

Chapter 35: Conflict and Confusion Part II

I've finished eating and now I'm sitting in Yugi's room staring out the window.

Kaiba left a little while ago. Jou's sitting on the bed, staring at me I guess. I don't know nor do I care.

"Atemu."

"What."

"I'm really sorry for what we did. We shouldn't have."

"No, you shouldn't have. Did you ever think about the consequences of your actions Jounouchi?"

"I guess not. We're idiots. We shouldn't have even listened to Anzu and now we no longer even speak
to each other."

"Am I supposed to feel any differently about you since you no longer talk to Anzu?"

"I, I guess not."

Aibou....I sense something wrong with you. Is everything ok in Egypt?

"You and Yugi are very close knit together. That bond the two of you have will never break."

"I'm glad you know that."

"But I guess your bond is wearing off on me."

"Our bond is our bond. Not yours Jounouchi."

"Well, you should know that there's something not right with Yugi ok. I just have a bad feeling about
him right now!"

How could he know something like that?

"I also know that there's something puzzling through your mind also. I don't know what it is. If you care
not to tell me, then that's your business."

"Thank you for respecting my privacy."

"You're being very cold Atemu."

And you don't deserve it?!

"Even if Aibou has forgiven you, I haven't. Do you have the slightest idea how much I've suffered
because of that day in Ichigatsu, almost two years ago?!" (AN: January)

"I know you have. Please forgive me Atemu!"

My vision become blocked and arms wrap around me. I'm not that easy to break Jounouchi.

"This is eating the hell out of my conscious! Please relieve this burden from me and forgive me ok."

"Let it eat you from the inside out Jounouchi. Towards you and Kaiba I have no forgiving bones in my
body. At least not right now. There is a lot I have to sort out and think about before that even becomes
a consideration to my mind, heart, or conscious. Keep in mind I didn't do anything wrong. If loving Yugi
is so wrong, may I never be right."

He removes his arms from around me.

"I understand."

"You have no choice but to."

I hear him take a deep breath. Is he pissed off at me now? Aibou, how could you ever forgive these
yarou?

"What would you and Kaiba have done if I had died? I could be 6 feet under right now. I've brushed
and cheated with death numerous times these past two years! I'm glad I didn't die. Maybe there was a
reason. To be with Aibou."

"You and Yugi are meant to be."

Karim. You... Why do I have a strange feeling about you all of a sudden?! You better not be messing
with him!

I feel myself become filled with anger. I haven't heard from Aibou today. He hasn't called me.

"Jounouchi. Dial this number for me."

For some reason I give him Seth's home number and not my number. I feel the reciever being put to
my ear.

"Hello?"

"Seth? Is this you?"

"Atemu! I'm glad to hear from you!"

"Where's Yugi?"

"Laying right here next to me Mr. Sunshine. Who took your joy away?"

"Please put him on the phone."

I hear Yugi whine a little. I guess he was sleep.

"Hello." I hear my lazy lover say.

"Aibou! How are you! I haven't heard from you today! Merry Christmas!"

"Atemu. I miss you so much! Merry Christmas. I've been at your grandparents for Christmas breakfast."

"Grand...parents. Ok, what did Mahado ask you?"

If I know him, he put Yugi through the ringer. That's why I never took him over there.

"Nothing much. He just asked me how we met and some other unimportant questions."

"Did you meet Karim?"

"Karim. Yea. I did. Met Shada too."

This is not going to be a Happy New Year when Yugi gets back here. He went through it with grandpa
Mahado and then my ex, Karim.

Karim dislikes it one bit now I'm with Yugi instead of him. I indeed was once in love with you Karim, but
it will never happen again. The day you tried to act as if you never knew me in front of your friends. The
day you denied me as your lover. The day you and your friends thought nothing more of me than just a
gay freak, was the day my love to you was forever lost.

"Ignore whatever those two said to you Aibou."

"How'd you know I met Karim and your jii-chan asked me some questions?"

"Aibou, didn't I keep telling you about how strong our bond is? No matter how far apart we are, I can
still feel you as if you're touching me right now."

I remember like it was yesterday. Actually, it was 3 years ago, yesterday. Yea, we broke up on Christmas
Eve. I didn't have a Merry Christmas that year.

I was in the mall buying gifts for everyone...including Karim. Seth was with me.

(Flashback. 3-years Ago, Christmas Eve, Alexandria Mall)
Seth and I just left out of CandK's Mens Store.

"What did you get Karim?"

"I got him this new CandK cologne. That's all he wears."

"Wasn't that a lot of money? Are you going to have enough to get everyone else something? Especially your
favorite 1st cousin?"

"You're my only first cousin Seth."

We continue walking and take the escalator to the middle level to go into JR Jewelers to get mom's bracelet
from off layaway.

When we reach the top...

"Atemu? Isn't that Karim over there?" Seth asks as he points over towards the center rail that overlooks the
lower level.

"Yea. That's him. Here, get this bag!" I say handing him the bag from CandK.

I walk over to him and his two best friends.

"Hey Karim." I greet him.

He turns around and gives me a look. One that I've never seen from him. His friends had often given me that
look, but never Karim.

"What do you want Atemu?" Karim snaps at me.

"I just came to speak to you and to ask you if I was going to see you tomorrow."

"Hey Karim? What does he mean by see you tomorrow? Are you a gay freak or something?"

Freak...no, not my...well, yea he is a freak in ways you'd never think of. Wait...

"Just go on Atemu. You know that Karim isn't gay like you."

What?! How'd they find out?! I haven't told anyone but Seth! That's something my own parents don't even
know!

"ATEMU!!"

"Oh, huh? Sorry about that. I spaced out for a minute."

"I asked you if you were coming back here on New Years so I could know whether to stay or not."

I laughed.

"No, I'm staying right here in your room until you get here."

"Ok then. I have to go now. I will talk to you later ok. Bye."

"I love you..." Dial tone... "...Aibou."

Why did he rush off the phone like did without even saying I love you?

I throw the phone behind me, I need to clear my mind now.

'click'

"So you're still here."

"I'll be here a while longer. Then I'll be out of your hair."

"No. I want you to stay here with me until Yugi gets back."

"So, you've forgiven me?"

"Don't push it."

"Ok then. I'll be back. Going home to get some clothes for the week."

"Bye."

"Karim? Why are you acting like this? I thought you loved me! You told me last night while I was fucking
your mind senseless. You've been telling me that for the past year!"

"Karim?! You took it? From Atemu? And you told us that he was trying to hit on you!"

"Karim you're my boyfriend. Tell them."

"Have you lost your mind Atemu Ikhras?! I am not gay! I am not your boyfriend! And you have never
fucked me! So get your fantasy crush and shove it up your ass!"

Did I just hear this?! My first love, my lover of a year...is acting like this... He's denying me...

"Fine. If that's how you feel, let it be. Oh yea. Merry Christmas." I say walking away from them and back
to Seth who's standing there as wide eyed as I feel.

"Come on Seth. Let's get the bracelet and let's go." I say grabbing his hand and the bag with Karim's gift.

We go into the jewelers and get the bracelet and then leave the mall. On the walk home, Seth finally
comes back to reality from playing the scene over and over again. I should be doing that, not him.

"Atemu. Did that happen the way I think it did? Did Karim really say that?"

"He'll be back tomorrow and I'll give him what he deserves."

*Next Day: Seth's home.*

It's such a beautiful Chrismas Day. The wind from the Mediterranean feels so great this time of year! Not
too hot, not too cold. Just right. Seth and I are sitting outside in on the patio, talking about our gifts.

"Grandma Mana knew just what I wanted. I'm glad she gave it to me!"

"Same here Seth."

"Turn around Atemu."

I turn around to see Karim standing behind me, looking innocent.

"Atemu, I'll be right back."

"Ok."

Karim walks around in front of me and sits in Seth's seat.

"I'm sorry about yesterday Atemu. You know I didn't mean it."

"So, you're ashamed of us. You told me that you were ready to tell! And then that happens in the mall
yesterday."

"I panicked. I didn't know what else to do."

"But you didn't have to say those nasty things you said to me. I do not appreciate it at all. It makes me
feel as if all efforts to keep this relationship is in vain."

"Forgive me, please love."

"Why should I?"

"Because I love you Atemu. You know that I always will."

"Could have fooled me."

He pulls a slender box from his pocket.

"This is for you." he says opening the box, revealing a diamond watch.

"I'm sorry gifts don't work on me, yarou!"

"What's a yarou?"

"You."

"That's one of the things I love about you Atemu. You can make love to me in four different
languages. I always get a different man every time."

I pick up the bag that sitting besides me with Karim's gift and sit it on the table.

"Is that for me?" he asks reaching for the bag.

"Hands off yarou."

"This was your gift yesterday. It's a waste of money today. Do you know what it is?"

"No. I would love to know."

I take the box from the bag.

"You didn't! It's the newest CandK cologne!"

"Yea, paid a hefty pound for this too." I say staring at the brick wall of the Ikhras home.

"Thank you so much Atemu! I love you so much!"

"Yea...love..." I say throwing the bottle at the wall and watchng it smash.

"WHAT!! Why did you do that Atemu?!?!" he yells as he runs to the wall and sniffs the cologne.

"Just like that cologne, my heart was the glass and inside was my love for you. You see how that's
just a mess now? Eventually the liquid will evaporate and the scent will fade. My love is like the liquid,
except it has already evaporated and faded away."

"Atemu...no, you don't mean that!" He says walking over to me.

"I do! I've been with you for a year Karim! You told me that you were ready to tell your friends and
family! I was going to tell my parents today when you came over! But now, don't even worry about it
or me! Consider us over Karim!"
(End Flashback)

'knock knock'

"Come in." I say.

"I'm back Atemu."

Jounouchi.
