Chapter 30: Author's Chapter (The Real One) ;)

Welcome all to the Author's Chapter of 'Nazo no Kisu'. I really hope you all enjoyed this fic. I
enjoyed writing it!

First of all, I would like to apologize for the hold up on the ending. That was 110% unexpected.
None of the computers at school would open up Chapters 28 and 29. It opens up every other
chapter and chapters from my other fics, but just not those two chapters for some odd reason
or another. I had to wait until the weekend, to go home to open the chapters on my mom's
compter, rewrite them, and resave them. To a different diskette.

Well, let's start at the beginning. Inspiration for this fic came from the 6th InuYasha Ending,
"Itazurana Kisu" or "Mischevious Kiss". I was listening to the song and thinking about how a
kiss could be the spark of something great.

Yugi's happy place was inspired from a chapter in Shaman King entitled
'The "Happy Place" Doctrine'. It was where Ryu was telling Manta about his happy places.

It was hard for me to come up with the exact pairing to do the story on. I thought about Seto/Jou,
Jou/Yugi, and Yami/Seto for the longest, but for some reason, my idea fit better with Yugi/Yami.
That's why at the beginning of Chapter 1, there are no names mentioned and no pairing revealed in
the intro. I just knew it was going to be done from someone's point of view.

As I continue to write into Chapter 2, I thought about how I would bring everyone into play,
especially since Kaiba and Jou are like brothers, not lovers in this fic. And then the fact that Kaiba
sees Yugi as a little brother is kinda odd in itself.

Favorites:
1. Chapter 1! I love the concept of the kiss and how it developed into the story.
2. Yugi's Happy Place. (I still wonder where it is)
3. Atemu and Yugi's sexual enounters (Yugi's a wild one!)
4. Confessions (I was listenting to the song by Usher and that's the inspriation for that chapter!)
5. Chapter 29. It's the finale and it's so sad that the story ended with their deaths.

I really didn't want everyone to have the same relationship towards each other as they do in the
anime and manga. That includes characters relationships with family. The entire storyline of Ancient
Egypt doesn't exist...except for a small part in Chapter 25. Here's a little family chart that I've
mustered up just for this fic:

**Yugi's mother's name is really Ashita. I have no idea about his father's or grandma's name.

As for the tournaments, I know I really don't go into depth with each duel, that's simply because I
didn't want my entire story to focus around the three tournies. I want it to focus around the
developing relationship between Yugi and Atemu. I know I didn't follow tournament rules, but...as I
said, I didn't want my story to focus around the tournies.

As for the fake Author's Chapter... I know...you all were like 'THAT'S NOT IT!" and "NO WAY THAT'S
THE END!!", but the original idea for that came in Chapter 14, when I started it as an Author's Chapter,
but I ended up discarding it. Then I decided to do it as a 'fake' Author's Chapter, because the evil side of
me came out for a moment. ;) LOL

Death's Toll is a virus that is made up by me, and by the fact that I wanted Atemu infected only
brings out Yugi's love for him even more.

I wanted Jou and Yugi's friendship to play a role in later chapters, especially during Yugi's depression.
Notice that only Jou was able to 'bring Yugi back' from wherever he was during his depression.

The ending of this story I know hurt most of you and you all were surprised at that, but...I wanted to
show how they love each other...even after their deaths...

I know that some of you were completely frightened by the use of three diferent languages, English,
Japanese, and Arabic. But I wanted some way of distinguishing locations and languages.

This may be my final fic that I will write until further notice. I'm so busy with school, work, and
organizations that I rarely have time to write. But knowing me, I'll have another fic done within a week
or so.

I do have a few fics in the works...but none are finished. I've rewritten my very first fic published
on AFF, 'Surprise at Sea' from a 2nd POV. It's the same story, but taken from someone else's point of
view. I've also done half of 'The Nightmare!'. Once I do some major editing, I may post those soon.

Yea...so much for my busy college life. Always find a minute or two to write a yaoi...
