Brooklyn charm
Chapter 3 – Brooklyn Charm
It had been three days since she had walked out on him. He hadn’t shown up in school or called her. Lee guessed that he was fulfilling her need for space.
Lee sat on the floor of her room, head on her knees. She didn’t know how she was still angry at Seto or how to make it go away. She wanted to go back to him but she knew she’d only explode at him again. She needed to sort herself out before going back to him.
She stood up and went to her desk. On it sat her deck. She picked it up and made up her mind. What she needed was a duel. Lucky for her that her brother had his very own duel arenas in the game shop.
She headed there straight away, not caring who she’d duel, just needing the action.
Outside she met Yugi and Joey. Luckily they’d been heading there for the same reason as her. Joey immediately agreed to duel her and they headed inside.
Joey watched Lee with interest. She was so hot, Kaiba totally didn’t deserve a goddess like her. She should be with someone nice, someone kind….someone blond. He was still thinking about her when the duel began, meaning he totally messed up his opening move but it was worth it. She smiled. Smiled!
He didn’t know what had gone on between her and Kaiba but it seemed to have actually ended. Maybe it was time for someone else to bring that smile to her face every day, and every night. Joey let his mind wander to what would make her smile at night, and moan. He imagined her red hair flowing across his bed, he saw himself kissing her lips, her hands, her legs.
“Joey! Hey Joey, it’s your turn.” Joey jumped and nearly fell off the podium, Lee was laughing and Yugi was looking confused. He must have zoned out completely. He took a look at the monsters she had on the field and played a turn. He was suddenlt aware of the effect his visions had on him and was very glad of the podium hiding his crotch from his friends.
A few minutes in and, despite some manoeuvrability issues, Joey had taken an early lead. That was until he saw the look on her face when she drew her next card. She was excited and somehow sad. He knew what she’d drawn, he knew why she was sad, and he knew he was in trouble.
They’d all first seen the card in her first duel against Kaiba. When they’d announced they were together, Duke jokingly suggested the duel and they both accepted. She’d pulled out the card on her second turn and they’d all seen how Kaiba had pretty much just wanted to stop the duel and screw her then and there.
It was because of the card.
Because of her blue eyes white dragon.
She had the fifth one, the lost one. The last one. She’d drawn the duel with Kaiba but she would beat Joey. And she did. He could see her anguish as she played the card, how much it represented Kaiba for her. Maybe this duel hadn’t been such a good idea.
Afterwards, Yugi had to go help his Granpa so Joey invited her back to his. They chatted for a while and watched tv.
It was a few hours before she’d mentioned Seto. She apologised for how she was acting.
“Joey, I’ve been a complete zombie all day, I’m really sorry.”
“Nah, it’s totally cool. But, you know, if you wanna talk about what happened. Joey’s always got his ears out.”
She laughed. None of them knew about the kidnapping after the hospital. She hadn’t told anyone.
“No, just….just distract me, ok? Come on, what shall we do?”
The next thing either of them knew, they were kissing. Lying together on the sofa, lips entangled. Lee wasn’t sure what she was doing, why she was doing this. She was still very much into Seto. She hadn’t ended it, had she? It was his kiss she wanted, his body.
And she let herself fall into this kiss, imagining it was Seto. His lips on her, his hands exploring her. It was only when the hand brushed down into the crux of her jeans and began to rub that she truly fell into her fantasy.
“Oh Seto…”
“Seto? Um….Lee, I ain’t Seto. I’m Joey.”
Lee opened her eyes. She wasn’t seeing Seto’s bedroom, she was in Joey’s lounge. The slim, dark haired man of her dreams turned out to be Joey. She yelped and fell off the sofa, out of his embrace.
“Oh god, oh god. Joey I am so sorry.”
Most people would have been completely mortified at being used like this, she knew. Joey, however, just grinned.
“It’s no worries, Lee. It was my fault anyway, overstepped my mark, you know. Now go on, go back to him.”
She nodded. She realised how much she needed him. Anger could wait, she had a deeper emotion to fulfil.
