Werewolf Love

Jou and Honda stayed for the night at Yugi’s house, since the weekend had started with the end of school that day. Yami yawned widely, showing large canines that made Honda wince in fright, but the slumbering werewolf just put his head back down on his paws and continued to sleep. Jou and Yugi were nonchalantly playing a game of Monopoly, which Yugi was winning without breaking a sweat. Honda looked over to them.
“Hey, guys? How can you be so chill when there’s a WEREWOLF here that Yugi’s dating? How do you know it’s not a trick?” Honda questioned, fear in every syllable. Jou sighed.
“Don’ ya know nothin’ about wolves, Honda?” he asked, Honda feverishly shaking his head in reply. Jou sighed again. “Wolves mate fer life. If Yami has claimed Yug as his mate, he won’t hurt Yug or anyone Yug cares deeply for. Namely, because he’s in love with Yug, Domino’s safe once again.”
Honda thought over Jou’s logic for a bit before deciding that it made sense. After all, the werewolf had switched from hunting humans to eating tenderloin steaks overnight - the same night he had followed Yugi home to make the small teen his mate. ‘Yugi really HAS tamed that werewolf!’ Honda thought in awe. ‘And Yugi’s into guys, but no guy has had any interest in him before. Maybe this will be best for all of us.’
Yami stirred in his sleep and woke up, yawning and stretching before transforming back into his human form. He came up behind Yugi, who was putting away the board game, Jou having grown bored of it after Yugi had beaten him soundly five times running. The werewolf wrapped his arms around Yugi’s shoulders and placed his head on the human’s shoulder.
“So, what are we doing today?” he asked. Yugi had promised Jou and Honda that they would hang out that weekend before Yami came into his life. Yugi looked up at his werewolf lover, feeling more and more attracted to the wild teen as the fear of him subsided.
“Amusement park,” Yugi said with a smile. Yami looked at him in surprise. ‘Amusement park?’ he thought. There would be tons of humans there on a hot weekend like that day. Yami wasn’t sure if he could handle that yet.
“I think I’ll pass,” the werewolf said. Yugi looked disappointed. Yami licked Yugi’s cheek and nuzzled him affectionately. “I just don’t think I’m ready to be around so many people right now. Still fighting my wolf side, you know.”
Yugi nodded. He understood completely and was proud of Yami for thinking of that. “So what are you going to do while we’re at the amusement park?” he wondered.
“Probably wander around the nature park,” Yami replied. “I’ll get to be alone and calm any predatory desires.”
Honda shivered at this, but Jou and Yugi nodded.

‘Damn, being away from Yugi is making this more difficult than I thought,’ Yami thought to himself, his body aching with the need to hunt. He had shifted into his wolf form for reasons he didn’t understand, but feared it was from his wolf side craving for blood. An unlucky person came on the path he was on just then, and Yami’s control snapped. He attacked the human, killing him instantly before he was able to stop. A brown-haired girl gasped as she saw everything, but Yami paid no attention: He ran, fleeing Domino and Yugi, having just proven that he wasn’t safe to be around.
Anzu watched the werewolf run away, thinking that it ran because it wasn’t hungry and had just killed for the fun of it. She smirked before putting in a call to the police to tell them there was a dangerous animal on the loose.
