Chapter Three
A/N: I DO NOT OWN YU-GI=OH IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM....*wishes she had Seto* ALL RIGHT THEN!!! ON WITH THE STORY!!!!
Ryou stayed awake for the entire night, never allowing his eyes to even droop for a second. Malik still lay on his floor unconcsious. The smaller boy was a bit worried about him, but more worried about himself if the drunk woke up.
Through the night Ryou had gotten up to pace back and forth between his door and the wall, all the while keeping his eyes on Malik, and he had even tried calling for help multiple times through the night and the morning. He had called so much that his throat was raw and burning.
To top off his situation, he was so hungry. His stomach grumbled loudly as if to make a point to his thought and Ryou scowled. He had gone all day without food, and was so tired last night that he hadn't even gone to dinner, telling his friends he would just sleep. "I wish I had something to eat..." he mumbled, sliding down the wall to sit again.
A few minutes later Ryou heard what sounded like footsteps running down the hallway towards his room. Standing he went to the door, banging on it. "Hello?!" He called nervously looking back at Malik. "Is someone out there? Please help me!"
"Ryou!? Are you in there?" Yuugi's voice sounded through the door and Ryou nearly collapsed from relief.
"Yes! I'm locked in here! Please help!"
"Wait here! I'll go get someone to help!"
Ryou was about to say something about Malik, but Yuugi was gone. He sighed and leaned against the door, praying to whoever was listening for Yuugi to hurry back. Not even five minutes had passed when Ryou heard footsteps, and Yuugi's voice urging someone to hurry.
"Ryou, are you all right?" Yuugi's voice called.
Ryou smiled. "Yes. Just please open the door.." He backed away from the door when he heard something popping. Jumping from the loud noise when the door finally opened Ryou almost fell on his butt. Yuugi ran into the room past the janitor.
"Ryou!! I was so worried!" The smaller boy smiled as he looked Ryou over for any injuries, reminding the white haired boy of a mother hen.
Yuugi's eyes left Ryou and went straight to Malik, who lay on the floor in a crumpled heap. "Ryou.... what' Malik doing here?"
The white haired boy sighed and sat heavily on his bed, his nerves frazzled. "He apparently got drunk last night and came through the window, thinking it was his room. When he saw me, I guess in his drunken stupor he....got a little frisky, so I bashed him over the head with my lamp."
He waved his hand towards the bent metal lamp. The smaller boy looked at his friend in wonder. "You just took down one of the toughest guys in the school! Way to go!" Ryou smiled slightly, then frowned when his stomach grumbled. "I think you're stomach smells food." Yuugi said, and he was right.
Ryou could now smell food wafting in from the door. Yuugi got up and walked outside the door, leaning over and grabbing a lunch tray from he floor. "I believe you may be hungry." Ryou smield gratefully as the two sat on his bed and ate, talking quietly.
Once finished Ryou grabbed his back pack, determined to go to the rest of his classes. He just hoped he wouldn't get in trouble for missing almost all of his second day. Yuugi walked with him in silence, until he had to ask the question that had been on his mind for almost an hour.
"Ryou.... do you know who locked you in your room?"
The white haired boy looked startled, then he smiled and shook his head. "No, I don't." The smaller boy looked at his friend, something in his eyes was telling him he was lying.
"Would you like to know?"
Again, Ryou shook his head. "No. I'm out of there and that's all that matters. Now come on, we can't be late for class."
Ryou rushed away from his confused friend, a guilty feeling in his gut. He knew, but for some reason, he didn't want to say it. It made no sense, but that was the way he felt for the rest of the day.

Yami stared at the cards in front of him, gripping his pillow in his lap. Smirking, the boy lifted his hand and all but slammed the card on the bed, making Seto jump. "HAH! Take that!" The tri-colored haired boy exclaimed proudly.
Seto looked at the cards thoughtfully before flipping over a face down card and sat back with a lazy grin. "I attack your dark magician with my blue eyes white dragon." Yami stared at the cards in shock. "Congratulations. Your life points are now down to zero."
Yami sneered at the card then at Seto. "It's always the same.... you and your blue eyes should just get married. You use it enough." Seto chuckled and began packing up his cards.
"How about another game? And this time, loser has to clean both rooms?" Seto thought for a moment, and then nodded. He couldn't turn away an offer like that. He hated cleaning. "You're on."
The smaller boy smirked and Seto raised an eyebrow. "I know that look....what are you thinking?" Yami shrugged. "I thought we would make this a little challenging...How about, I'm not allowed to use my Dark Magician, and you can't use your Blue eyes White Dragon? Deal?"
The brunette thought for a moment before nodding. "Deal."
The two boys cut eachother's decks and the game was on. They played in silence, until Seto chuckled as he placed a card down. "I believe this game is mine yet again, dear cousin." He said as he flipped over hs card, demolishing Yami's hand, as well as the cards he had in attack position on the field.
"Would you like me to get you a little maid outfit for you as you clean my room?" Yami glared at his cousin. "I hate you..."
Seto smirked. "So does everyone else."
Yami was about to retaliate when there was a knosck on the door."It's open," hecalled as he packed up his cards, going back at Seto with their playful banter.
All talk stopped when the two boys looked to the door and saw Yuugi standing in the doorway, his face flushed crimson. He stared down at his thumbs as he gripped his hands together tightly. "Yuugi? What are you doing here?"
The boy looked up at Yami for a brief moment before hanging his head. "W-well....I...I just wanted to thank you for giving me the food for Ryou earlier...It was really n-nice of you."
Yami smiled softly and inclined his head. "Don't worry about it. It was on the house, little one."
Yuugi looked up at that name. Something about it coming from Yami seemed so familiar....so warm. "Anything else?" Seto growled, breaking the moment between the two. "Y-yeah.... I just wanted to say, that I don't have a relationship with Ryou." He looked at Yami with a bright smile. "Promise."
Yami felt a weight lift from his chst as the boy turned and left, shutting the door behind him soflty. There was a few seconds of silence before the door opened and Yuugi stuck his head in. Seto glared at him.
"Just because you were invited in once, does not give you access at all times," he growled.
Yuugi simply nodded and looked at Yami with kind eyes. "And I don't hate you, no matter what other people say or may think around here. Goodnight."
The door shut for a final time, leaving Yami and Seto alone. Yami flushed when he found Seto staring at him. "What!?" he cried.
Seto simply shook his head. "Nothing....absolutely nothing."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning was a hassle for poor Ryou as he rushed to school, so tired from the prior night he had overslept almost an hour. That was the worst part about having his own room. As he ran through the door of his first class, he almost ran into a tall man.
He looked up, confused. He had never seen this man before, so who was he? The man looked at him, one eye showing from behind a curtain of shoulder length silver hair. Ryou shivered at the golden gaze, reminding him of a hawk staring down at prey.
"Ryou?" the man asked, his drawling voice seeming to linger in the air like a fog. The boy nodded shakily. "Come with me, please."
Ryou nodded dumbly and moved to the side to let the man pass, following him to the door. Sensing someone staring at him, Ryou turned to see Bakura's eyes staring at him, in their hard depths was what looked like a nervousness. He turned with a huff and left the room quickly to catch up with the silver haired man.
Ryou stared at the man as they walked. When the man glanced at him, Ryou turnd his head quickly, embarrassed at being caught staring. He felt that he had met this man somewhere, but where he couldn't think of. Wracking his memory Ryou almost smacked into the man when he stopped suddenly. The boy quickly looked up at the closed door, a gold plaque on its surface reading; 'Pegasus J. Crawford Principal'.
Together they entered the lush office. Ryou stared at the surroundings. He had never seen an office so grand! Beneath his feet was a plush maroon carpet, and one giant window let the bright sunlight in, a large potted plant just reaching under the sill. Ryou's eyes took in the many shelves of books, some in a language he couldn't even read.
"Please, take a seat."
Pegasus' voice made Ryou jump and he turned to see the man smirking, staring right at him. Slowly the boy made his way to a large dark brown leather chair, sitting straight and rigid, his hands clasped in his lap tightly. Pegasus stared at him for a long moment until he spoke in that drawling voice.
"Now son.... the janitor told me of your perdicament yesterday with your locked door. He also spoke of young Malik being in your room, apparently unconcious on the floor."
As the man spoke Ryou found it harder and harder to look away from the man, feeling a sense of numbness coming over his body. "Now I know it was no accident. You can tell me who did it."
There was a slight push from his mind to tell the man the truth. The man leaned over the desk slightly, lacing his hands together, a dark gleam in his visible eye.
Taking a calming breath Ryou shut his mind from he pushing sensation, imagining a thick, imrpegnable wall forming around his thoughts, slamming the door shut on the intruder. Pegasus jerked back a little and the boy felt his body starting to come back to normal. "I truly don't know sir," he said as calmly as he could. "I was alseep, and when I woke that morning the door wouldn't open, and I found Malik asleep on my floor."
Pegasus leaned back and in the sunlight Ryou could see small beads of sweat forming on his forehead, still feeling the force trying to get into his mind. "The lock, as the janitor told me, seemed to have been broken. It would take a lot of force, and that would make a lot of noise."
Ryou shrugged, the wall in his mind getting thicker. "I'm a heavy sleeper, sir. Plus it was my first day and I was exceptionally tired."
The principal sat back, his breath coming in short gasps though he was trying hard to hide it. "I see..." he sighed and the probing stopped. "Fine. Go back to class."
Ryou stood and made a small bow and turned to leave, only to be stopped by a hand gripping his wrist. "I will tell you this, Ryou, boy....since you did not tel me who the culprit was, I shall find out who did it myself. And when I do, he will get more than the minor chastising I had planned if you told me. He will be expelled from this school, and blacklisted from all prepatory schools in the surrounding area."
Ryou stared into his eye, shivering at the sinister shine lurking in the depths of the gold gaze. "Please let me go," he whispered faintly. "I have to get back to class."
Pegasus let him go and the boy all but ran from the room, stopping a far distance from the office to catch his breath and stop shaking. After a few minutes he felt fine enough to walk, keeping his breathing calm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryou acted as normal as he could for the rest of the day, avoiding all the questions his friends threw at him with a 'nothing happened!' or 'he just wanted to welcome me to the school.' Finally the lunch bell rang and Ryou excused himself by telling his friends he had to use the bathroom.
Once the in the lavatory the boy took a shaky breath, gripping one of the sinks hard, his head lowered and taking shaky breaths. Every time someone mentioned the principal's office he could feel the evil of the other mind trying to push into his, searching for information, rummging through his private life. Ryou had been psychic all his life and had found a way a few years back to keep others like him at bay by imagining a wall as strong as he could make it wrapped around his mind.
With another hearty sigh Ryou ran the cold water, splashing some on his face. He was hoping to get his body to stop shaking before one of his friends came looking for him. He hated keeping the secret from them, but all his life he had felt that if he told someone he would be deemed a freak and no one would want to come near him.
Finally he felt up to facing the others and went to leave, when suddenly a hand came from nowhere, throwing him against the white tiled wall. Ryou yelped as his shoulders and back slammed into the hard surface, his breath rushing from his lungs in a whoosh. Gasping for breath he looked at his attacker and found himself staring into a pair of heartless brown eyes.
"B-Bakura!" he gasped out.
When did he come in? The taller boy frowned deeply moving forward, adding pressure to Ryou's shoulders against the wall. "What did you tell the fag this morning?" he demaded roughly.
"The.... fag?" Ryou was absolutely confused now. "Who are you-"
"The principal! He took you into his office this morning, didn't he? He must have asked you about being locked in your room....What did you tell him?"
Ryou winced as even more pressure was applied to his already hurting shoulders, fighting to stand, but was slammed against the wall with such force tears came to his eyes. "N-nothing! I told Mr. Crawford nothing!"
Bakura stared down at the boy, his hands loosening up. "There's no way you would just....YOU'RE LYING!" Bakura slammed him against the wall harder than the last time, leaving the boy breathless and unabl to catch his breath as quickly. "Why would anyone do that for someone like me? You don't even know me...If you told me the truth, then I'm guessing you took the blame for this?"
Ryou shook his head, gritting his teeth against the pain. "N-no... I just told him I slept through the whole thing, and couldn't opent he door in the morning! I swear that's all I said!" Ryou whimpered as pain shot through his shoulders to his chest and back.
"Why wold you do that?" Ryou shook his head. "I don't know! I have no idea why I didn't tell him! It just felt wrong!"
For a moment Ryou let his mind barrier slip and felt something in his mind again. This time it didn't feel evil like the last presence, but instead it felt warm and... familiar. Tears formed in the corners of Ryou's eyes and he slammed his mind shut to the presence, seeing Bakura visibly jerk. "I'M TELLING YOU THE TRUTH!!!!"
Quite suddenly Bakura rushed forward, crushing Ryou's lips to his. The smaller boy let out a gasp, giving the other an opening to invade his mouth with his tongue. Ryou struggled at first, but then stopped as he felt the brush in his mind, feeling almost like a lover's touch. Something about it seemed right, and that was how it felt. Right.
Bakura felt Ryou stop struggling and smirked into the boy's mouth. So the little one was psychich... Ever since he saw the boy the first day of school, something in him had wanted to this.... and so mch more.
After what seemed like an eternity, Bakura pulled away and smiled. "Nice to know...."
Ryou stared at him, his lips slightly swollen from the force of the kiss. "I think we'll be seeing more of one another from now on... a *lot* more." Letting go of the smaller boy he left the bathroom.
After Bakura left Ryou finally caught his breath and slid down the wall to the floor. What just happened?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yuugi was worried about his new friend and spent almost the whole lunch perios searching for him. Ryou had been acting strange today, and now he totally disappears? A head of white hair caught his attention and he looked to see Bakura walking from the bathroom with a smirk on his face.
As Yuugi jumped up, the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. The small boy rushed from the cafeteria and found Ryou walking down in the hallway in a daze. Yuugi furrowed his brows and ran up to his friend, grabbing his elbow making him stop. Jonouichi, Otogi and Honda stopped around them. "What's up, Yuug?" The small boy smiled at the others. "I have to ask Ryou something," he said innocently.
"I didn't get the english lesson today, so I thought I would ask Ryou about it... You guys go and we'll catch up, ok?"
Yuugi hated lying to his friends, but it seemed that something was wrong with Ryou, and he felt he needed privacy to talk to him. Otogi Jonouichi and Honda looked at them, but then shrugged and walked away, getting the hint. From down the hall a few minutes later Yuugi heard Otogi's hysterical laughter and deemed it safe to talk to the boy.
"All right, Ryou... something's wrong. You've been acting strange all day, and now it looks like you're in a daze." RYou went to speak, a fake smile on his lips, but Yuugi beat him to it. "And don't give me that 'I'm fine' stuff. I know you're not.... I can feel it. Now tell me, please?"
Ryou stared at his friend and sighed. "I'm sorry if I had you worried...I'm just tired today. That whole incident with Malik kept me up last night. I was afraid of him coming back in and didn't get a wink of sleep."
Yuugi glared at his friend, his mind telling him that wasn't the truth, and his eyes softened. "We're friends, right?"
The white haired boy nodded. "Well, friends tell each other what's wrong so the other doesn't worry," Yuugi continued. "And that means the truth." Yuugi reached his mind out, feeling the perimeter out when Bakura's face flashed before something like a wall slammed down. Ryou stared at him with disbelief.
"Has Bakura been bothering you?"
Ryou's mouth opened and closed, unable to say anything, but at Bakura's name his face flushed. "You....you're psychic?" Ryou asked finally.
Yuugi sighed and nodded, looking around to make sure they were alone. "I've been able to feel other's feelings ever since I can remember...it's actually really annoying." Yuugi felt the wall lfting slightly and Bakura's name flashed in his mind, along with something else he couldn't really quite understand. "Do... do you like Bakura?" the smaller boy asked.
Ryou was silent for a few moments. Was that what was wrong? Did he like Bakura? "NO!" Ryou shouted, a little louder tha he wated, catching a teacher's attention. He smiled and waved at the elderly woman before he turned back to Yuugi, slamming the wall down on his mind. "I do not like Bakura!" Ryou hissed.
Yuugi raised an eyebrow.
"Look at what he's done to me! And then today to top it off, in the bathroom he kissed me, then walked away!" As soon as the words left his lips, Ryou regretted them, slapping a hand over his mouth.
"He *kissed* you?!" Yuugi's voice shrilled at the last part, catching the female tacher's attention again.
From the corner of his eye Ryou spotted a door slightly ajar and ran to it, dragging Yuugi behind him, slamming the door shut and turning the light on. Around them were mops and brooms and the room smelled highly of cleaners and bleach. "YES!" Ryou practically screamed.
"All right? When I went into the bathroom, Bakura must have came in while I was washing my face. We were yelling at one another, then out of nowhere he kissed me.." Ryou blushed. It was his first kiss...not the best way to get one, but it was *really* good... Yuugi stared at him, shocked.
"Oh.... wow....." Suddenly Ryou grabbed the boy's shoulders, shaking him a bit. "You can't tell anyone I told you about this! Bakura would kill me if ayone found out! He would hurt you too...please don't say anything!"
Ryou had tears in his eyes, thinking about what Bakura would do to Yuugi if he ever told anyone about their conversation.
Just as the boy was about to answer, the door was flung open and a flash came from nowhere, blinding the two boys. After the chock and the spots cleared away Ryou looked to see Marik and Malik standing in front of them with a camera.
"Smile!" Malik cried. "You're on Candid Camera!"
Before Ryou and Yuugi could speak the blonde boys were running away, laughing and shouting something. Ryou gulped. He was doomed...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryou decided to skip out on dinner that night, afraid to be in the same room with Yuugi. If what he felt with Bakura in the bathroom was right, then that would mean the other boy was just like him... That was on his mind as he walked in a dze down the hallway. How was it that in all his life he had never met anyone with the same talents that he had, and in one school there were two people? It amazed him.
He had never had the courage to tell anyone. Did Bakura know? Surely he found out when Ryou slammed his mental wall on him. Sighing deeply the boy walked into his room, and flpped on the light shuffling towards his bed.
"It's not healthy to skip meals, squirt....you're skinny enough as it is."
Ryou yelped and jumped, spinning around to face the bed on the other saide of the room. Bakura lay on top of the white sheets, his head held up by his hand while his other hand lay dangled across his hips. "Wh-what are you doing in my room? Get out!"
Bakura chuckled and dropped the corner of the sheet he was playing with. "You can't make me leave. This room partially belongs to me."
The boy turned those harsh eyes on Ryou who was highly confused. "Huh?" Was all the boy was able to get out. Bakura got off the bed in one fluid movement and slowly made his way towards Ryou, reminding the boy of a tiger stalking its prey. The smaller boy backed away, his eyes wide in fright, but Bakura kept advancing, mathcing Ryou's steps.
"When I first came here this was my room," Bakura began. "Bt since I don't like being alone, I moved into Marik and Malik's room. Not like they were using the extra bed anyway." Bakura chuckled. "But man was that a mistake....that Marik moans like a bitch in heat."
Ryou blushed at the image and backed away quicker, not noticing the bed that was getting closer and closer. Bakura smiled and took a large step towards the boy and Ryou jumped away, letting out a squeal when he fell back on his bed, bouncing a bit.
The taller boy smirked and made his move before Ryou could get up, trapping the boy there with his legs, wedging himself between Ryou's thighs, slowly kneeling on the bed. Ryou stared up at him, trying to scramble away, his eyes shining with fearful tears. "But now that you're here, I'm sure this room can be quite..." Bakura leaned forward, his breath warming Ryou's face. "Fun."
The taller boy sat up a bit and pulled his shirt off. Ryou whimpered. Bakura spread Ryou's thighs farther apart and those harsh eyes caught Ryou's. Just as in the bathroom, Ryou felt the brush of another mind in his, the presence warm and comforting. Without wanting to, the smaller boy's eyes wandered down Bakura's wel sculpted chest, the shadows from the lamp made him look darker, more sinister. His eyes went farther down until they rested on a small mark on Bakura's stomach.
"You like what you see?" Bakura chuckled.
Ryou didn't answer, his eyes glued to that one spot. It looked like a scar from a wound that had been inflicted long ago....but it was in the same place as...Without thinking Ryou sat up and quickly pulled his shirt off, startling Bakura.
"Whoa!! Easy kid, I was only joking. Put your shirt back on."
Ryou ignored him and looked down at his stomach, quickly finding the mark, his eyes going wide. "Hey.... hey kid? You all right? What're you looking at?"
Ryou felt the familiar brush in his mind again and he snapped back to attention. Letting out a small squeak Ryou covered his bare chest with his arms, not wanting to look at Bakura. "I-I'm sorry... I saw your scar and....I thought it looked just like my birthmark. I just had to check to see if I was right."
The smaller boy reached for his shirt but was stopped by Bakura who grabbed his arms with one hand and pushed him down with the other. "Hey!" Ryou cried, struggling to get away, but the other was too strong. Bakura's eyes roamed over Ryou's pale, unmarked chest and stomach until he saw a small dark spot barely visible from the hem of the boy's pants.
His free hand tugged the boy's pants down abit, sending him into a panic. "Let go!" Ryou cried, doubling his struggles. Bakura ignored him and looked closely at the mark. It was the exact same shape and size of the scar he was branded with so long ago.
Lightly his fingers traced the small circle, then the small pyramid inside. Next his fingers moved to the diamonds that were and weren't connected to the circle. Bakura was in shock. It couldn't be.... that soul couldn't be here, not what after the gods had said so long ago...
"Bakura?" Ryou asked softly.
Bakura pulled Ryou up forcefully by his arms, hard eyes meeting with frightened round ones. "Do you know *anythign* about this mark?"
"M-my father once told me, when he brought me on a dig about something that looked like my birthmark, but what I can't remember exactly right now....is there something wrong?"
Bakura sighed and let Ryou go, his small body flopping on the bed. "I'll be in Marik's room." That was the last thing Ryou heard before Bakura left, slamming the door and leaving the boy alone for the night.

WOOHOO!!! CHAPTER THREE IS UP!!! I am so proud of myself right now..."0(=^_^=)0" I seriously thought this would be harder, but I guess listening to Alessandro Safina works xD
Psycho Chandy: THANK YOU!!! Thank you for being the first comment(er?) on this story!!! Well...you'll just have to read and find out about Ryou, won't you??? ehehehe....And yes, the scene with Ryou and Malik was fun to write. I like making Malik a bad boy *evil grin*
Ryou stayed awake for the entire night, never allowing his eyes to even droop for a second. Malik still lay on his floor unconcsious. The smaller boy was a bit worried about him, but more worried about himself if the drunk woke up.

The next morning was a hassle for poor Ryou as he rushed to school, so tired from the prior night he had overslept almost an hour. That was the worst part about having his own room. As he ran through the door of his first class, he almost ran into a tall man.
He looked up, confused. He had never seen this man before, so who was he? The man looked at him, one eye showing from behind a curtain of shoulder length silver hair. Ryou shivered at the golden gaze, reminding him of a hawk staring down at prey.
"Ryou?" the man asked, his drawling voice seeming to linger in the air like a fog. The boy nodded shakily. "Come with me, please."
Ryou nodded dumbly and moved to the side to let the man pass, following him to the door. Sensing someone staring at him, Ryou turned to see Bakura's eyes staring at him, in their hard depths was what looked like a nervousness. He turned with a huff and left the room quickly to catch up with the silver haired man.
Ryou stared at the man as they walked. When the man glanced at him, Ryou turnd his head quickly, embarrassed at being caught staring. He felt that he had met this man somewhere, but where he couldn't think of. Wracking his memory Ryou almost smacked into the man when he stopped suddenly. The boy quickly looked up at the closed door, a gold plaque on its surface reading; 'Pegasus J. Crawford Principal'.
Together they entered the lush office. Ryou stared at the surroundings. He had never seen an office so grand! Beneath his feet was a plush maroon carpet, and one giant window let the bright sunlight in, a large potted plant just reaching under the sill. Ryou's eyes took in the many shelves of books, some in a language he couldn't even read.
"Please, take a seat."
Pegasus' voice made Ryou jump and he turned to see the man smirking, staring right at him. Slowly the boy made his way to a large dark brown leather chair, sitting straight and rigid, his hands clasped in his lap tightly. Pegasus stared at him for a long moment until he spoke in that drawling voice.
"Now son.... the janitor told me of your perdicament yesterday with your locked door. He also spoke of young Malik being in your room, apparently unconcious on the floor."
As the man spoke Ryou found it harder and harder to look away from the man, feeling a sense of numbness coming over his body. "Now I know it was no accident. You can tell me who did it."
There was a slight push from his mind to tell the man the truth. The man leaned over the desk slightly, lacing his hands together, a dark gleam in his visible eye.
Taking a calming breath Ryou shut his mind from he pushing sensation, imagining a thick, imrpegnable wall forming around his thoughts, slamming the door shut on the intruder. Pegasus jerked back a little and the boy felt his body starting to come back to normal. "I truly don't know sir," he said as calmly as he could. "I was alseep, and when I woke that morning the door wouldn't open, and I found Malik asleep on my floor."
Pegasus leaned back and in the sunlight Ryou could see small beads of sweat forming on his forehead, still feeling the force trying to get into his mind. "The lock, as the janitor told me, seemed to have been broken. It would take a lot of force, and that would make a lot of noise."
Ryou shrugged, the wall in his mind getting thicker. "I'm a heavy sleeper, sir. Plus it was my first day and I was exceptionally tired."
The principal sat back, his breath coming in short gasps though he was trying hard to hide it. "I see..." he sighed and the probing stopped. "Fine. Go back to class."
Ryou stood and made a small bow and turned to leave, only to be stopped by a hand gripping his wrist. "I will tell you this, Ryou, boy....since you did not tel me who the culprit was, I shall find out who did it myself. And when I do, he will get more than the minor chastising I had planned if you told me. He will be expelled from this school, and blacklisted from all prepatory schools in the surrounding area."
Ryou stared into his eye, shivering at the sinister shine lurking in the depths of the gold gaze. "Please let me go," he whispered faintly. "I have to get back to class."
Pegasus let him go and the boy all but ran from the room, stopping a far distance from the office to catch his breath and stop shaking. After a few minutes he felt fine enough to walk, keeping his breathing calm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ryou acted as normal as he could for the rest of the day, avoiding all the questions his friends threw at him with a 'nothing happened!' or 'he just wanted to welcome me to the school.' Finally the lunch bell rang and Ryou excused himself by telling his friends he had to use the bathroom.
Once the in the lavatory the boy took a shaky breath, gripping one of the sinks hard, his head lowered and taking shaky breaths. Every time someone mentioned the principal's office he could feel the evil of the other mind trying to push into his, searching for information, rummging through his private life. Ryou had been psychic all his life and had found a way a few years back to keep others like him at bay by imagining a wall as strong as he could make it wrapped around his mind.
With another hearty sigh Ryou ran the cold water, splashing some on his face. He was hoping to get his body to stop shaking before one of his friends came looking for him. He hated keeping the secret from them, but all his life he had felt that if he told someone he would be deemed a freak and no one would want to come near him.
Finally he felt up to facing the others and went to leave, when suddenly a hand came from nowhere, throwing him against the white tiled wall. Ryou yelped as his shoulders and back slammed into the hard surface, his breath rushing from his lungs in a whoosh. Gasping for breath he looked at his attacker and found himself staring into a pair of heartless brown eyes.
"B-Bakura!" he gasped out.
When did he come in? The taller boy frowned deeply moving forward, adding pressure to Ryou's shoulders against the wall. "What did you tell the fag this morning?" he demaded roughly.
"The.... fag?" Ryou was absolutely confused now. "Who are you-"
"The principal! He took you into his office this morning, didn't he? He must have asked you about being locked in your room....What did you tell him?"
Ryou winced as even more pressure was applied to his already hurting shoulders, fighting to stand, but was slammed against the wall with such force tears came to his eyes. "N-nothing! I told Mr. Crawford nothing!"
Bakura stared down at the boy, his hands loosening up. "There's no way you would just....YOU'RE LYING!" Bakura slammed him against the wall harder than the last time, leaving the boy breathless and unabl to catch his breath as quickly. "Why would anyone do that for someone like me? You don't even know me...If you told me the truth, then I'm guessing you took the blame for this?"
Ryou shook his head, gritting his teeth against the pain. "N-no... I just told him I slept through the whole thing, and couldn't opent he door in the morning! I swear that's all I said!" Ryou whimpered as pain shot through his shoulders to his chest and back.
"Why wold you do that?" Ryou shook his head. "I don't know! I have no idea why I didn't tell him! It just felt wrong!"
For a moment Ryou let his mind barrier slip and felt something in his mind again. This time it didn't feel evil like the last presence, but instead it felt warm and... familiar. Tears formed in the corners of Ryou's eyes and he slammed his mind shut to the presence, seeing Bakura visibly jerk. "I'M TELLING YOU THE TRUTH!!!!"
Quite suddenly Bakura rushed forward, crushing Ryou's lips to his. The smaller boy let out a gasp, giving the other an opening to invade his mouth with his tongue. Ryou struggled at first, but then stopped as he felt the brush in his mind, feeling almost like a lover's touch. Something about it seemed right, and that was how it felt. Right.
Bakura felt Ryou stop struggling and smirked into the boy's mouth. So the little one was psychich... Ever since he saw the boy the first day of school, something in him had wanted to this.... and so mch more.
After what seemed like an eternity, Bakura pulled away and smiled. "Nice to know...."
Ryou stared at him, his lips slightly swollen from the force of the kiss. "I think we'll be seeing more of one another from now on... a *lot* more." Letting go of the smaller boy he left the bathroom.
After Bakura left Ryou finally caught his breath and slid down the wall to the floor. What just happened?
Yuugi was worried about his new friend and spent almost the whole lunch perios searching for him. Ryou had been acting strange today, and now he totally disappears? A head of white hair caught his attention and he looked to see Bakura walking from the bathroom with a smirk on his face.
As Yuugi jumped up, the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. The small boy rushed from the cafeteria and found Ryou walking down in the hallway in a daze. Yuugi furrowed his brows and ran up to his friend, grabbing his elbow making him stop. Jonouichi, Otogi and Honda stopped around them. "What's up, Yuug?" The small boy smiled at the others. "I have to ask Ryou something," he said innocently.
"I didn't get the english lesson today, so I thought I would ask Ryou about it... You guys go and we'll catch up, ok?"
Yuugi hated lying to his friends, but it seemed that something was wrong with Ryou, and he felt he needed privacy to talk to him. Otogi Jonouichi and Honda looked at them, but then shrugged and walked away, getting the hint. From down the hall a few minutes later Yuugi heard Otogi's hysterical laughter and deemed it safe to talk to the boy.
"All right, Ryou... something's wrong. You've been acting strange all day, and now it looks like you're in a daze." RYou went to speak, a fake smile on his lips, but Yuugi beat him to it. "And don't give me that 'I'm fine' stuff. I know you're not.... I can feel it. Now tell me, please?"
Ryou stared at his friend and sighed. "I'm sorry if I had you worried...I'm just tired today. That whole incident with Malik kept me up last night. I was afraid of him coming back in and didn't get a wink of sleep."
Yuugi glared at his friend, his mind telling him that wasn't the truth, and his eyes softened. "We're friends, right?"
The white haired boy nodded. "Well, friends tell each other what's wrong so the other doesn't worry," Yuugi continued. "And that means the truth." Yuugi reached his mind out, feeling the perimeter out when Bakura's face flashed before something like a wall slammed down. Ryou stared at him with disbelief.
"Has Bakura been bothering you?"
Ryou's mouth opened and closed, unable to say anything, but at Bakura's name his face flushed. "You....you're psychic?" Ryou asked finally.
Yuugi sighed and nodded, looking around to make sure they were alone. "I've been able to feel other's feelings ever since I can remember...it's actually really annoying." Yuugi felt the wall lfting slightly and Bakura's name flashed in his mind, along with something else he couldn't really quite understand. "Do... do you like Bakura?" the smaller boy asked.
Ryou was silent for a few moments. Was that what was wrong? Did he like Bakura? "NO!" Ryou shouted, a little louder tha he wated, catching a teacher's attention. He smiled and waved at the elderly woman before he turned back to Yuugi, slamming the wall down on his mind. "I do not like Bakura!" Ryou hissed.
Yuugi raised an eyebrow.
"Look at what he's done to me! And then today to top it off, in the bathroom he kissed me, then walked away!" As soon as the words left his lips, Ryou regretted them, slapping a hand over his mouth.
"He *kissed* you?!" Yuugi's voice shrilled at the last part, catching the female tacher's attention again.
From the corner of his eye Ryou spotted a door slightly ajar and ran to it, dragging Yuugi behind him, slamming the door shut and turning the light on. Around them were mops and brooms and the room smelled highly of cleaners and bleach. "YES!" Ryou practically screamed.
"All right? When I went into the bathroom, Bakura must have came in while I was washing my face. We were yelling at one another, then out of nowhere he kissed me.." Ryou blushed. It was his first kiss...not the best way to get one, but it was *really* good... Yuugi stared at him, shocked.
"Oh.... wow....." Suddenly Ryou grabbed the boy's shoulders, shaking him a bit. "You can't tell anyone I told you about this! Bakura would kill me if ayone found out! He would hurt you too...please don't say anything!"
Ryou had tears in his eyes, thinking about what Bakura would do to Yuugi if he ever told anyone about their conversation.
Just as the boy was about to answer, the door was flung open and a flash came from nowhere, blinding the two boys. After the chock and the spots cleared away Ryou looked to see Marik and Malik standing in front of them with a camera.
"Smile!" Malik cried. "You're on Candid Camera!"
Before Ryou and Yuugi could speak the blonde boys were running away, laughing and shouting something. Ryou gulped. He was doomed...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
