Again, it was another bland and tedious day at Duel Academy. Once again, everyone except the black haired slifer and his tutor were rushing for the door. Chazz sighed as Bastion approached. “Are you ready for today’s lesson?” The tutor asked with an enthusiastic smile.

“Psh, whatever.”

“Great. Please come with me to the duel field. You’re going to be demonstrating how much you’ve learned from yesterday’s lesson.”

“Humph.” Chazz replied as he followed his tutor down the hall.

The slifer student was soon horrified to happen upon a group of six other slifers waiting at the duel field. “Hey! What gives? Have you brought me here to humiliate me?” Clearly this was a direct attack on Chazz’s pride by making him look stupid in front of his little group. Although there were only six of them, and even though they were all lowly slifers, word about Chazz’s failing grade would surely spread around the whole school like wild fire. Of course that vindictive ra would try something like this! The Fiend!

“Not at all Chazz. This is just another study group of mine. They’re having trouble with fusion, and they all seem to be fans of yours. Demonstrate how good you can be, and put on a good show for your fan club.”

It took a brief moment for the Chazz to absorb the information his tutor had presented. In that moment, Bastion had already led him upon the stage. When he was sure his students were paying proper attention, the tutor announced, “Attention please. I understand you all are having some difficulty with fusion. You’ve all showed tremendous effort, so today I decided to treat you. I’ve brought your favourite duellist to demonstrate how to use fusion correctly. As such, Chazz and I will be duelling with fusion oriented decks so you can all learn from example. Take good notes, there WILL be a test later.” He then turned to his duelling partner for the day and asked very casually, “are you ready?”

Chazz glanced briefly at his miniature crowd of fans. They all seemed to be glowing with anticipation. Now with his nose in the air, he declared sharply, “of course I’m ready. The Chazz was born ready!”

“Good then. Give me your deck.” It seemed like it was a command.

The failing slifer hesitated, but decided to comply. As he did so, the tutor handed him a new deck. Chazz scowled, “what’s this?”

“Simply put, the fusion based deck you’ll be using against my fusion based deck. If you’ve done your homework, you should have no problem beating me.” The cheerful ra said with a smile.

“Psh.” Was all Chazz could muster in response.

“Well, let’s begin.” He engaged his duel disk and shuffled his deck.

As Chazz engaged his disk, he could hear an enthusiastic uproar begin. “Three, two, one, CHAZZ IT UP!” The group said in unison

Now the slifer’s arrogant smirk from earlier returned as he too engaged his duel disk. “Prepare yourself, ’cause you’re about to get Chazzed!”

His entourage persisted to cheer with the utmost enthusiasm, even though the duel had barely started. The demonstrating slifer decided to exercise his arrogance by declaring he was going to go first.

The duel continued on, Chazz found himself struggling the whole time. Near the end, he managed to draw the right card that could save him in his turn of need. He won, of course, earning waves of cheers from his fans.

“Yes! That’s it, I’ve destroyed you! You’ve just been Chazzed!” The victorious slifer crowed.

“Very well done. For the rest of you, make sure you study all of our moves, especially during turns 5- 13. I’ve recorded the whole duel, you can find it on my web site. Ok, well, that’s all for today, you’re all free to go.” The tutor announced.

Bastion’s study group quickly headed for the door, chattering about Chazz and all his awesomeness. Chazz himself seemed very pleased with the outcome of today’s lession.

“Good work today.” The intellectual ra congratulated.

His student seemed unimpressed with his tutor’s complements. “Psh, of course. Did you expect any less from the Chazz?”

“Well no. But I hope you were taking notes too, because you’ll be getting the same test they are.”

“You’re kidding right?!”

“Not at all, but here, it’s the address to my web site, you can watch the duel. That way, you can correct all the mistakes you made.”

“What? The Chazz made no mistakes! How dare you!” Clearly this maniacal tutor was exerting every ounce of his evil in order to anger the Chazz, what nerve.

“If you have no further questions, then you may leave.” Bastion stated without emotion.

“Great, I can’t take another minute with you!” The disgruntled slifer said as he stormed out the door.

After Chazz had made his grande exodus, Bastion realized he forgot to give Chazz’s deck back. He shrugged and assumed he’d ask for it back tomorrow. No big deal right?

* * *

As Chazz made his way back to his room, it occurred to him that he did make some crucial mistakes, especially on turns 5- 13! No wonder he drew attention to those turns! He really was trying to make a fool out of him!

A now enraged Chazz lay sleepless. He was simply too angry to properly fall asleep right now. He had to plot revenge. Maybe he’d steal all the trap cards out of his malicious tutor’s deck, yes, that will do. That jerk will pay for trying to humiliate The Chazz, tomorrow for sure!

Sleep came easy now that the revenge plan was set. He drifted off easily. Little did he know, he was about to come in contact with an unusual visitor.

I apologize for the kind of half ass-ery here, I didn't sleep all that well last night.
