Soccer Match
Chapter 3
It was the next day and Joey had got up bright and early to get ready for his soccer game. He ate his breakfast and left his apartment. The soccer field where he was going to be playing at was 10 minutes away. Matt had offered to pick him up as he didn’t live that far from where Joey was. It was a good thing he could get a ride because he had no money to get a taxi. “Hop in Joey” Matt said opening the door from the inside. “Thanks Matt I really appreciate this” Joey said to him, “hey where mates and mates help each other and besides we wouldn’t want our star player to be late now would we” Matt said driving of.
Mean while at Kaiba’s place he had gotten up and was ready to go to work. He was near the door when he saw Mokuba rushing around. “Hey Mokuba what’s the rush it is the weekend you know” Kaiba said. Mokuba stopped what he was doing “I know but I am going down to west side soccer field with some friends” Mokuba told Kaiba. “Why are you going to the soccer field” Kaiba asked him. “I am going to watch a soccer game down their, don’t you know that Joey Wheeler will be playing today” Mokuba replied.
“Who is Joey Wheeler” Kaiba asked Mokuba “you don’t know who he is man he is a soccer pro, he might not play professional but man he’s got what it takes to make it I can tell you that bro” Mokuba told him. “Would you have a picture of him by any chance” Kaiba asked “no I don’t, why would you want a picture of him Seto” Mokuba asked him this time. “No reason just forget it” Kaiba said back. Mokuba grabbed his jacket and was about to walk out when he turned around to look at his brother.
“Hey Seto” Mokuba said “what is it Mokuba” Kaiba asked, “well I know you have work and that but why don’t you come down and watch the game” Mokuba said. Kaiba thought about it for a bit, he did have work but he decided to go in the end. Mokuba met up with his friends and they decided to walk their. Kaiba decided to drive their in his car, he drove their himself, he didn’t have a driver this time.
It didn’t take long until he reached the soccer field, he parked the car in the car park. He hopped out and locked the door and headed over to the field. All the benches where full so he had to stand on the small grass hill. Their where others their as well sitting along it, Kaiba decided to stand. He didn’t want his outfit to get all dirty he had to go to work after the game after all.
“BIG BROTHER” Kaiba heard a girl scream out he looked and saw a young girl with brown hair waving at someone. When he saw who she was waving at he couldn’t believe it, it was the guy who he met just yesterday. “Serenity I am so happy that you came” Joey said to her their was 5 minutes before the game started. “How are you big brother are you doing” Serenity asked him. “I am fine thanks, how is your friend treating you well I hope” Joey said to her “uh huh yes she is” Serenity replied.
“You have a pretty sister” Joey heard someone he looked to his left and saw him the one guy he didn’t really want to see. Serenity blushed at his comment “what are you doing here” Joey asked him with an angry glare. He didn’t really like this guy from the first time they met Joey knew he was a dick. “I just came to watch the game is that so wrong” Kaiba said to him “do what you want” Joey replied.
The whistle blew and the game was going to begin “good luck brother” Serenity said to Joey. “Thanks” Joey replied then ran back over to his team, his coach saying a few words to them. “Um” Serenity wanted to say something to Kaiba “yes” he asked looking at her. Serenity blushed “are you my brothers friend” she asked him. “Yes” Kaiba said to her knowing full well that they weren’t. “I’m glad” Serenity then said “hmm and why is that” Kaiba asked her. “Well Joey doesn’t have that many friends he normally keeps to himself but I am happy that he has made a new friend” she replied.
Kaiba looked at her and then he heard the whistle blow and the game began. Their was a lot of cheering and whistling going on. Kaiba wasn’t really watching the game he was mostly just watching Joey. He watched and noticed how graceful Joey looked and how his eyes looked so fierce. Just watching him was making Kaiba’s heart beat really fast it was as if his heart was going to come out of his chest.
The game soon ended and Joey’s team won they where all so happy Joey was smiling. It was the first time Kaiba had ever really seen him smile before. The team was walking towards their bench when Joey suddenly felt a bit dizzy. He was swaying side to side when he started to fall, Kaiba ran towards him. He had caught Joey before Joey hit the ground “hey isn’t that Seto Kaiba” a girl said. “Yeah but what is he doing here” another girl replied, the group of girls where talking to one another. They wanted to know why someone like Seto Kaiba was at the soccer game.
Kaiba wasn’t just the president of Kaiba Corp but he was also a famous duellist. He was known all over the world and was very popular. Everyone knew him but somehow Joey didn’t he had no clue who Kaiba was the first time they met. Though Joey loves duel monsters he had never read a magazine or watched TV because he didn’t ever have one. He had heard of a guy called Seto Kaiba he just didn’t know what he looked like.
“Why are you standing their call an ambulance” Kaiba yelled out at the people around him. A girl rang the ambulance on her mobile. Kaiba picked him up and brang him over to the bench little did he know their was a cameraman taking photos. If those photos hit the media of Kaiba carrying some guy he would have one huge problem on his hands. Soon the ambulance arrived and they put Joey on a carry bed. They then put him in the ambulance Serenity got in with Joey and the ambulance drove of.
Kaiba decided to follow just to make sure Joey was going to be alright. When he got to the hospital he went to the front desk. “Excuse me miss” Kaiba said “yes can I help you sir” she asked him. “Yes did a young guy come in just a few moments ago he has blonde hair and was wearing a soccer uniform” Kaiba asked her. He still didn’t know his name so he had to give the receptionist same basic details on what he looked like.
“I am sorry sir but I cant let you see this person unless you know their name” the receptionist told him. “Look I need to see him” Kaiba was starting to get a bit angry but he knew if he yelled at her, she would call for security. Just when Kaiba was going to give up someone called him, “Mr Kaiba” he heard. He looked to his right and he saw Serenity standing their “um if you would like to see my brother please follow me” she told him.
Kaiba followed her, they walked down the corridor until they reached a door. “He is in here however he is still asleep but you can go in and see him if you like, I will wait out here” she told Kaiba. “Thankyou” Kaiba replied and opened the door he walked in and closed the door behind him.
