Chapter Two
Malik sighed as he headed into his apartment after a day at work. He worked full time in a relatively big company owned store, which sold entertainment things, video games, DVD's, that sort of thing. His job posistion was relatively good; he handled a lot of the inventory things, so he was always busy, which he preferred; it made the day go by faster.
He yawned and flopped down onto the sofa, eyes drooping. He'd worked harder today and the store was busier due to some holiday or other coming up. He felt the presence of the spirit close by and opened his eyes, smiling slightly at the golden light before him. It had increased in size, first to the size of a cat or small dog, and it had eventually progressed to the size of a human. It still didn't look like anything but a light, but it was progressing, and Malik guessed that the spirit was getting more used to him.
"Hey Tenshi," Malik greeted, smiling, "I'm so tired from work; it was busier than usual. But I did get a video for us to watch later on."
One might call him crazy, but Malik loved movies, and he had a feeling that the spirit did too. Whenever he'd watch a video, he'd feel the spirit close by, almost right next to him, when it was usually a more faint feeling, and not as close.
Malik pushed himself up and headed into his bedroom, changing from his work uniform to his regular clothes, and into the Kitchen to make Dinner. He always made a note to never leave the stove unattended, especially after what happened before with the fire and all. He did once before, and felt this large amount of uneasiness and worry, and he imedietly knew it was from Tenshi. Since then, he'd never done it again.
After heating up some Ramen and grabbing a bottle of Ramune, Malik sat down on the sofa, putting the movie in, and smiling as he felt Tenshi's presence close by again.

A few months later, Malik headed into his apartment after work, completely drained. It was the busiest day of the year; what Americans called 'Black Friday', and what Malik thought they DIDN'T have in Japan. Apparently he was wrong. He had to be at work at 5AM, and the store opened at 6AM. He was originally supposed to leave at 2 in the afternoon, but told his manager he'd stay a couple hours later to help out, and he could use the extra money.
How he was regretting it. He all but collapsed onto the sofa, face first. He didn't even remember to greet Tenshi, which he did each and every time he came home from work. It's not like he didn't want to; he was just too exhausted and focussed only on sleep.
Malik looked up slowly as he felt the presence, even stronger than before. He gaped as he saw the golden glow before him, only this time is seemed to be taking on an actual form. He sat up slowly, staring as the light slowly formed a head, arms, legs and a body.
Malik watched in awe, as the form slowly took on more distinct features, and Malik could see for the first time that Tenshi was male, and looked around his age. He had snowy white hair that hung around his shoulders in layers, with adorable bangs in his eyes. His eyes, were a chocolate brown colour, and Malik thought he could get lost in them. He was also thin and slightly small, but just a couple inches shorter than Malik himself. He wore a blue and white striped t-shirt, jeans and sneakers.
The spirit looked almost solid now, and if you squinted, you could faintly see through him, and the edges of his form still faintly glowed in the golden colour.
"Tenshi?" Malik asked, astonished, still staring at him.
The spirit nodded quietly, the corners of his mouth lifting into a slight smile. Tenshi looked at him, a look of... worry? Concern?
Malik thought a moment, eyes widening as he realized that he hadn't greeted Tenshi like he always did when getting home from work. He'd been so tired, he hadn't even thought of it.
"Oh! I'm sorry, Tenshi, I didn't mean to ignore you earlier!" Malik appologised quickly, "It's just.. work was too busy today... and I had stayed later than my shift.."
Tenshi nodded quietly, nodding at him to continue, which Malik did, "It's supposently the busiest shopping day or something, and we all had to show up at 5 AM. And I was supposed to leave around 2, but told my manager I'd stay later, and ended up leaving around 4. I was just so tired is all, I'm sorry for ignoring you like that.."
Tenshi smiled slightly and shook his head a little, letting Malik know it was alright. He then pointed to Malik and then to the kitchen. Malik laughed slightly, "No no, I already stopped for Dinner on the way home from work."
Tenshi pouted slightly, then nodded, pointing once again to Malik, and then to the bedroom. Malik laughed slightly, "Alright, I get the hint, off to bed?"
Tenshi nodded his head slightly, his form starting to fade. "Tenshi?" Malik asked, frowning, "Are you... I mean, is it too hard to keep that form?"
Tenshi didn't reply, only continued to fade, but Malik could still feel his presence. "If it is, then don't feel like you have to to do it make me happy! I'm happy knowing you're here... even if I can't always see you... I can feel you."
Tenshi was completely gone now, but his presence was still strong, letting Malik know he was still with him, just not visible. He looked towards the bedroom as he saw the door open on it's own. He blinked, then laughed slightly as he realized Tenshi had to be the one who opened it, almost telling Malik, "Now."
"Alright alright, I'm going to bed," Malik smiled, heading into the room, the door closing softly behind him.
