/Mariku to Malik/
\Malik to Mariku\
==================================================================
The guardian studied the two ancient spirits standing before him, his gaze penetrating, searching, assessing. Several long moments of silence passed before he turned to Mariku. "I'm leaving them in your care. Remember my warnings and don't neglect your responsibilities."
"You have my word," he promised. "As an Ishtar."
That commitment was accepted by Shadi. He knew how much pride Mariku had in his heritage and any promises made would be upheld. In the blink of an eye, he disappeared.
Grinning, the Egyptian grabbed Bakura and hugged him tightly; he had missed his partner in crime. "It's good to have you back, Tomb-Robber!" The white-haired yami hesitantly returned the embrace. Mariku didn't mind his lack of enthusiasm. He seldom showed affection publicly, except for his hikari.
"Where is Ryou?" he demanded to know. "Is he okay?"
Mariku hesitated. "Truthfully, him and Yugi have had a very tough time dealing with losing you and Atemu." His lavender eyes quickly flickered over to the uncharacteristically silent pharaoh. "They will be fine once they see you and realize that you have returned to them."
"Then why are we standing here? Let's go." The arrogance in that voice was unexpected. Lavender eyes locked onto the cool crimson eyes. Smirking, the smaller one turned and began to regally ascend the stone stairs.
The drive back to the house was swift and silent; each yami lost in his own thoughts. Mariku opened his mind-link. /Koi?/
\I'm here.\ Mental hugs and kisses are eagerly exchanged. \Do you have good news?\ Curiosity flowed through the connection.
The spiky-haired blond laughed silently, looking in the rearview mirror at his passengers. /Koibito, somehow you need to contain your happiness; I don't want to ruin the surprise for Ryou and Yugi, okay?/
More kisses passed through the link. \I'll do my best. Just hurry home. I love you.\
That simple statement filled his heart, his mind, his soul with joy. /Aishiteru, Malik./
Arriving home, Mariku admonished his companions to be quiet. He wanted to surprise the hikaris and lift the shadows and heartbreak from their expressive eyes and gentle, innocent souls. Reuniting them with their yamis was the only solution. Remembering Shadi's warnings, he prayed fervently that he wouldn't live to regret this decision.
Turning the knob, he pushed the door open slowly, stepping inside quickly before turning and facing the opening. "Come in," he called softly. Anticipation radiated from his entire body as he witnessed the shock and disbelief on the hikari's faces. All three of them.
Ryou stood, his legs shaking, tears spilling from those dark innocent eyes. "Kura?" he whispered, not believing what he was seeing. He thought that he was dreaming. His koishii yami was gone. He had seen him pass into the afterlife, the doorway sealing itself, forever separating them.
Pale arms reached for and surrounded the slender shaking teen. He pulled him close, his fingers sliding through the silky hair, caressing the flawless perfection of his face. "My koishii tenshi, I'm here. And I will never leave you again," he vowed, his tears falling to mingle with Ryou's. His trembling lips covered Ryou's; the kiss sealing their commitment to be together forever.
Yugi paled at the vision before him. His expressive amethyst jewels glistened with unshed tears as he slowly realized that somehow his deepest wish and most fervent desire had been granted. His yami, his koishii tenshi no yami, was standing before him. Accepting the reality of the situation, he threw himself at Atemu, hugging him tightly, raining kisses over every inch of his face, catching his soft sensous lips in a deep passionate kiss.
The pharaoh willingly returned the embrace, the feel of his hikari's body pressed against his own arousing him. His hands slid down to the slender hips pulling the younger one tighter against him; he quickly took control of the kiss, his tongue touching, tasting, teasing. He couldn't get enough of his koibito. Desire, stronger than ever, filled his mind. He wanted to strip the clothes from his koi's luscious body and tease him until his hikari begged for him to make love to him.
Seeing where the pharaoh's hands were, and sensing the lust radiating from him, Mariku cleared his throat...loudly. Bakura and Ryou separated their lips, their arms staying wrapped around each other; the yami pulled his hikari against his chest, placing a tender kiss on top of the flowing white hair. Yugi, his face turning bright red, buried his face against his yami's body. The pharaoh stroked the smaller one's hair, lust and arrogance battling for dominance in his piercing crimson gaze.
Malik turned to Mariku, his lavender eyes searching the similar, yet so different, orbs of his koishii. \There's something wrong with them, Mariku.\ He looked back at both couples. \Do you sense it?\
His unusual eyes narrowed./Yes, tenshi, I do. I just don't know what it is./ He made a mental note to carefully observe Bakura's and Atemu's actions carefully over the next few days. He only hoped that if, he had to keep his bond with Shadi, that he would actually have the strength to do it.

Okay...another chapter done. Originally, this one was much longer, but I decided to use part of it for Chapter 4, which should be posted by this weekend. Please review and remember that constructive criticism and story ideas are always welcome! Thanks!!
