Chapter 3 is upon us, and it's a bit more exciting than 2. Well, at least that's what I plan...
:o) Thanks for reading the previous chapters. Today, Anzu and Yugi...yep ahem...umm...I
don't know. Something's going to happen between them.

Chapter 3: The Final Two

Ok...so what does she want with me?! I feel it...the redness...the embarassment...the
butterflies...

"Why are you so nervous Yugi? I saw you flushed before your duel." She cups my chin
with her hand.

Ok...now I'm melting... Glad her hand is there or I'll ooze everywhere!

"I've heard something about you Yugi. Do you have a crush on me?"

I feel my world stop and my heart threaten to jump from my chest as it thumps louder
and faster...

Her eyes...so sincere...so loving...so beautiful...

I feel myself nod slowly and see her features warm even more, driving me more and
more insaine.

"You know what Yugi. I like you too."

Did those words just come from her mouth?! Is this the best day of my life or what?!

"I hope you win your duel Yugi, I really want to see you at nationals." she sighs and
then holds my hands. "I'm really in love with you Yugi. I have been since I first met
you 12 years ago. I used to think it was just puppy-love, but now I realize...we were
meant to be with each other. I know you feel the same way about me. Just look at
yourself now. You're like a bowl of warm jello. You could collapse at any moment."

The book, Yugi Mutou has been opened by Anzu Masaki and she is reading me, word
for word.

An odd instinct comes over me and I move closer to Anzu and kiss her. I feel her love,
lust, and passion for me. We seperate and look at each other and smile.

But...

Nothing...no descension into my body from that happy place...nothing. Nothing like
his kiss. It was just a kiss. A friendship kiss...that's all it was.

But...


Who cares?! The love of my life just confessed her love for me and kissed me! I can
now die very happy.

"So, do you want to go to di...no I mean a movie and maybe ice skating tonight? We
can go to the 5:00 movie and then go skating afterwards." I suggest...if I'm going to be
in a relationship with the beautiful Anzu Masaki, may as well get it started off on the
right foot.

She looks at me and smiles. "Of course, koi."

Did she just call me koi? I'm glad I'm not standing, or else I would ooze on the floor in
a huge puddle of love...love for Anzu.

"I...love you Anzu." I say then quickly turning away.

I feel her hand turn my head around and force it in one spot...forcing me to look directly
into her eyes. She smiles.

"I love you too, Yugi."

We continue talking...but I feel something...no. Someone looking at me. I turn around and
look behind me to my right...the side Anzu is sitting on.

"Doushita no, Yugi?" (AN: What happened, Yugi?")

"Nanda." (AN: It's nothing.) I say looking behind me to my left and seeing him... I blink then
he disappears.

I turn back around and go back to talking to Anzu. The stands started to get filled again,
signaling the hour was almost over.

"Well, I have to go now. Cheer for me Anzu." I say standing and going down to the officials
table.

"Hello Mutou-san. You're number 2 right?" a man says as he pushes his slim glasses on
his nose.

"Hai."

"You will be facing duelist number 1, Kaiba Seto."

"Domo arigatou gozaimasu." I say as I go to my side of the duel ring and sit in the stands. I
see Jounouchi, Shizuka, Honda, Otogi, Mai, and Kaiba come back in. Kaiba comes down
to the officials table and the others sit a row behind Anzu. (AN: Thank you very much)

Kaiba talks to the officials for a while then comes to me.

"Good luck Yugi. I know we're dueling against each other. Me and my Blue-Eyes won't go
easy on you." Kaiba says to me.

"Thanks. Me and my Black Magician won't go easy on you either Kaiba."

Kaiba has been more open to me and Jounouchi since Mokuba died in that drunk driving
accident. Kaiba walked away without a scratch. The drunk driver and Mokuba...died at
the scene. Since then, he has been more friendly towards me, and especially to Jounouchi,
who he now sees as a 2nd brother.

"Welcome back one and all to the semi-finals of the Domino City Tournament! In our
first duel, we have Seto Kaiba vs Yugi Mutou! Gentlemen, please take your places."

Kaiba leaves and go to his side and I step on the platform. It rises a little and I stand face
to face with Kaiba. A man who I always thought was as cold as ice, but he's truly as warm
as fire. Glad first impressions with me aren't always lasting impressions.

"Duel!" We both say and draw our 5 cards.

...

"Shorisha! Mutou Yugi!"

Phew, glad that's over. That was a tough duel! I look at Kaiba who has a look of
satisfaction on his face. Guess this was a good duel to him too.

"Omedetou, Yugi. You earned that win. This isn't the last of me. I know I will qualify for
nationals."

"Thanks Kaiba. I know you will qualify for nationals to. And I hope that we duel each other
again in the finals."

He nodded and we went in the stands. I sat next to Anzu and Kaiba sat next to Jounouchi.

I tuned around and looked at Jounouchi who had a stunned look on his face. I nodded as to
answer his question. He gave me a thumbs up then went back to looking at the next duel.

"In our second duel, we have Akeifa Nakumon vs Atemu Ikhras! Gentlemen, take your
places!"

I looked as the two duelists gave their good lucks and began their duel.

"Duel!" They both say as they draw 5 cards.

...

"Shorisha, Atemu Ikhras!" He won...his duel...just like he said in the gym 2 weeks ago...

I looked at him and our eyes met. For a minute, we were the only two in the arena...

'I told you we would be in nationals. You are a wonderful duelist. If your loving is half
as good as your dueling then I have something to look forward to. Don't you think so
too Yugi?"

Just then, I snapped back into reality. Luckily no one noticed my trance with Atemu.
Wait a minute... What did he mean my my loving? Does he want to have sex with me?!
Ecchi! That does not interest me one bit Atemu! My love is with Anzu not you!

"Ladies and gentlemen! We have our two national tournament automatic bidders and
finalists in the Domino City Tournament. Will Yugi Mutou please come to the dueling
arena, for the final duel of this tournament."

Well, guess that's my cue.

"Good luck Yugi. I hope you beat him." Jou says to me.

"Ganbaru, koi." Anzu says.

"Koi?!" Jou, Kaiba, Honda, Mai, and Shizuka say at almost the exact same time. If this
keeps up, pretty soon my nickname is going to be Blush-boy...or something to that
extent...

Anzu kisses me once again, earning a chorus of gasps and draw-droppers from my
friends. And one very angry/annoyed look from one Atemu Ikhras.

I went down to the dueling arena and to the opposide side from Atemu. I stepped on
the platform and looked dead at him. Then my eyes focused on Anzu. My love. What an
angel she is.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to the finals! These two duelists have met time and
time again in the dueling ring in numerous other finals. Their record is 9 and 9. This
duel, you could say is a tie-breaker of sorts. Gentlemen, please shuffle your decks and
duel!"

We shuffle our decks and set in in the deck zone.

Once again...our eyes meet and we are the only two in the room. I wish this would
not happen to me with him!

"You know you don't love her. Come to me. Come to where your heart truly lies."

"My heart lies with Anzu."

"I know you didn't feel anything in that kiss with her. You know I can feel when you're

accepted the 1st place trophy from Pegasus J. Crawford, the creator of Duel Monsters.
I accepted my 2nd place trophy and my invitation to nationals. After the festivities
died down, interviews...interviews...interviews...I saw Anzu waiting patiently for me. I
ran straight to her and gave her a hug.

"You did great, Yugi. You'll get him back at nationals."

"Thanks Anzu, let's go." I say wrapping one arm around her waist and the other around
the trophy.
