Chapter II: Sweet Misery
Hey, Welcome to Chapter 2, Sweet Misery. Yes, I know! It's a Michelle Branch song! I don't own it! Niether do I own "Daydream"! It's owned by John Sebastian & the Lovin' Spoonful.
I already said I don't own Artemis or Seto-chan.
I own Ura. And the plot (Is there a plot here?).
Enough Disclaiming!
HIKARI/DJ SILENCE YUY: DOMO ARIGATO! I've seen this pairing before, but it got removed from the site it was on (it wasn't this one.) It's actually been purty difficult to figure out how these two could be attracted, but I thik I figured it out. Thanks for speaking up!
Herre it is!

Artemis sat in his hotel room, brooding. He didn’t like the feeling the Japanese boy had caused in him. He’d made Artemis undoubtedly disquieted, and Artemis could not stop thinking about the cinnamon color of his hair, and how plump his lips had seemed. And he hated it. There was no reason on earth he should be experiencing any feelings of this sort, and it irritated the hell out of him. He looked out the window at the lights of Tokyo, and further out to Tokyo Bay and Osaka. Butler had gone off to get him some spring water, and Artemis was unusually alone. Artemis paused for a moment and thought of Einon.
Einon was a friend of his at Saint Bartleby’s, and though he was nowhere near as smart as Artemis, he did manage to hold a conversation with the vampiric teenager. They had recently snuck out of class and gone for a walk behind the bicycle sheds, ill-used since the days of Artemis Fowl Senior’s childhood. “My parent’s first kiss was back here.” Ei had mentioned.
“Hm.” Artereplreplied.
“Well, it’s kind of special, then, eh?” Einon looked at the boy next to him. Artemis grunted again. “You’ll never understand.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” Artemis snapped. “You’re reminiscing and wishing you had someone to sneak out here with. But you don’t, and most likely won’t.”
“Well, at least I want something a bit less than the world at my feet! You probably don’t even know how to kiss someone!” Einon had the classic ‘Irish temper’.
“Honestly.” Artemis sighed. “I got over my megalomania, Ei.” The other boy glared at him.
“Uh-huh.” He turned his back on Artemis.
“I’m sorry. I’m sure you’ll find some undeserving tart who will make your life miserable.” Einon wheeled on him.
“Take that back!”
“Okay, I’m not at all sorry.” Artemis smiled.
“The OTHER bit!” Einon was panting in rage, his carrot-colored hair waving in the breeze.
“All right, all right. I take it back.” Artemis waved his hand in a placating motion.
“You still don’t know how to kiss.” Einon liked rubbing Artemis’ ‘inexperience’ in.
“So? Like it’s an important business tactic?” Artemis scoffed.
“Still, I bet you couldn’t if you tried.” In response, Artemis pressed his lips over the other boy’s.
Artemis shivered as the opening door brought him back to reality. He had discovered he liked kissing boys. He’d had to deal with the fact that he went to a boy’s school, and he’d had to deal with having a very attractive bodyguard. Even though Butler was older, he was very fit. His muscles still rippled through his body, and here lately, Artemis had watched him sleep. It was awful, trying to explain his sudden and violent increase in insomnia. He mostly just put it off as stress, but he was pretty sure Butler knew that he was watching his valet sleep.
And now, this gorgeous Nippon had gotten him a hotel room. Artemis had to smile at the resultant image. He was attractive, his cinnamon hair falling just above blue eyes, and he was thin enough to be flexible and lithe, but almost too thin. His duster hid most of his figure, but what Artemis had seen of it was quite pleasing. His legs were shapely, and Artemis knew what that usually meant. An arse like a ten-year-old boy. “Are you well, Artemis?” Butler handed him a glass of water.
“I’ll be fine, Butler. Thank you.” He sipped the water. “Thanks for the water.” He stared out the window. It really was a beautiful city. . .
The next morning, Artemis awoke to the sound of the furin outside ringing in the breeze. Butler was gone again. For being a bound and bred guardian, he liked leaving Artemis alone a lot. There was a note on the pillow next to his head.
Artemis.
An old friend came to visit. We should be in the common room. Don’t worry, you are safe in this room.
-Butler.
That was nice! Some bodyguard. Artemis stood and remarked how chilly it was as he made his way to the common room. There sat Butler, and an older man who was shorter than Artemis’ slight 5'4". A younger man with tri-coloured hair walked in. He was perhaps Artemis’ age. “Good morning, Artemis.” Butler said tranquilly. “This is Moto Sugoroku, and his grandson, Moto Yugi. They are old friends of mine, though I haven’t seen Yugi since he was a babe in arms.”
“Ohayo.” Artemis’ accent was still atrocious, but Sugoroku was used to this.
“Good morning, Artemis.” He said. His English was pretty good. “It’s nice to meet you.” Yugi caught Artemis’ eye and smiled. “Please, sit.” Artemis obeyed, and eyed Yugi. He was skinny, though not so much as Kaiba had been. He also had an angelic face, though he had a pendant made of solid gold hanging from his neck that had to weigh easteast a pound. One blonde strand of his hair fell onto his forehead, giving him an endearing quality. He also had an innocence in his eyes that reminded him of someone . . . someone else who had a gold necklace . . . The memory was fuzzy. He must have been very young when it happened. He faintly remembered . . .a plant name . . . Laurel? Ivy? He grunted frustratedly, hating that he could not remember the girls name.
“Something wrong, Artemis?” Butler asked.
“I can’t remember her name.” Artemis said shortly.
“Who’s name? Why so short?” Short! That was her last name. But what was the first? He could almost see her face . . . nut-brown hair . . . she liked wearing green . . . he hated this! He could remember anything!
“The young lady with the gold necklace . . . something . . . something Short.” Artemis tapped his fingers on his forehead.
“Artemis, you must have dreamed her. I remember no such name.” Butler poured his young charge some tea, worried slightly. “I am sure you will remember.” He smiled an apology to Sugoroku, who merely smiled back. Yugi kept telling him about another ‘Yugi’ he felt inside of him. He had passed it off as his grandson’s flourishing manhood. Children at this age were so unsure, and tended to try and catagorize things into what they could understand.
Later on, Artemis sat reading, and Yugi walked in. “Ohayo!” Artemis looked up. “I’m not interrupting?” His English was fair.
“No.” Artemis set his book down. “Can I help you?”
“I didn’t want to listen to ojíichan and Butler-San any longer. They are nice, but it can get . . . erm . . .taíkutsu na . . .” He thought a moment.
“Boring?” Artemis supplied.
“HAI!” Yugi nodded enthusiastically.
“That is why I left as well.” Artemis cocked an eyebrow. “Isn’t that thing heavy?”
“Oh, it’s hollow. It would be really heavy if it were solid!” He pronounced some of his l’s as r’s. A Japanese thing, no doubt. Artemis chuckled. “Would you like to see it?” He handed it over to the ebony-crowned boy, still keeping the chain around his neck.
Artemis felt the cold metal rest in his hand, surprisingly light. He then felt sweltering heat surround him, and felt a warm breeze on his neck. He looked up, and there was Yugi, in an Egyptian kilt, with Kaiba at his right hand, wearing another kilt, a cape and Ankh. He blinkedd hed he was back in a traditional Japanese room, staring at a Japanese boy. The sight of Kaiba half-naked had left him aroused, and the ‘heat’ had left him panting. “Are you all right?” Yugi asked.
“Fine. Just . . . it’s a little chilly.” Yugi nodded.
“Would you like some o-cha?” Tea. Artemis understood tea.
“Yes, please.” Yugi got up, and bowed.
“I’ll be back shortly.”
Artemis sat, looking at the furin wave in the breeze. Kaiba was a very attractive young man. He had noticed this more than once. As he thought of this, Artemis felt his pants getting a lot tighter, and the room got a lot warmer. As Yugi slid the door open, he noticed that Artemis was blushing slightly. He set the tea down, and knelt behind the tenebrous boy. “Artemis?” Artemis’ hand snuck up his thigh from where it rested at his knee. Yugi covered it with his. “Artemis.” Artemis threw his head back, resting it on Yugi’s shoulder.
“Mm. Have you ever kissed anyone, Yugi?” Yugi blushed deeply. Artemis’ eyes were glazed, and his focus was wandering.
“No.” Yugi’s eyes widened slightly. Didn’t he know what a kiss meant? As his lips were covered by the Irishman’s, his eyes widened further. His body felt wonderfully warm, and there was a pleasant tingling in his stomach. He felt his hand being guided to Artemis’ crotch, and felt how warm Artemis was. He felt a smooth lapping sensation on his lips, parting them. He parted his teeth, and felt a warm slickness enter his mouth. Artemis was kissing him. Artemis was also using his tongue in this kiss. Yugi had only ever heard of this, and had seen it once in a film Katsuya had loaned him. To feel it . . . he felt his pants getting tighter, and realized he was hard as well. He sucked in at the sensation, catching Artemis’ bottom lip in a small nip. The Irish boy moaned, and bucked into Yugi’s touch. Yugi realized that he had been rubbing the other boy’s hard-on for a bit. He snuck his hand up, under waiswaistband, and back down. Artemis wriggled helplessly. There was a sound outside, and Yugi’s head shot up.
“Yugi-chan?” Yugi cursed under his breath as he heard it.
“Ojíichan.” He hissed. He stood, and looked back at Artemis. “Gomenasai.” He left, calling for his Grandfather. Artemis looked at the garden, his hair disheveled, his spirits suddenly low. Another boy had abandoned him. For the second time in his life, he started to cry.
Einon had abandoned him, off to another school. The two had only ever kissed, and Ei had taken Artemis’ length into his hands. But it had eno enough. Artemis hated that he was so careless with his heart, and wondered if it was so wise to acknowledge the organ. He had been so happy with Ei, and the bitch had left. Here he was, scant months later, setting himself up for a huge-scale heartbreak. He couldn’t stand another boy leaving him. He wondered how his father would react if he knew that his son didn’t like girls as well as he liked boys. Einon’s sweet features flashed in front of Artemis’ eyes. He had never been so foolish before. What had happened to him? Why was he so . . . normal?
