Moving On?
*Chapter 2: Moving On?*
Yugi was walking home miserable when he heard someone call out to him.
“Hey, you!”
Yugi turned around and saw a man,ut aut a year older than him if not the same age running up to him.
“Hey, could you help me with this?”
“With what?” asked Yugi effortlessly.
“Umm…well, I just moved here and I’m trying to find this restaurant a friend told me about. It’s called Carabas?”
“Oh, yeah. That’s down two more blocks that way then turn right and it’s about another five blocks. You can’t miss it.”
Yugi winced at the remembrance of the name. That was where he and Yami had gone on one of their first dates.
“Oh, okay. Thanks. Hey are you alright?”
“No, not really.”
“Well, I know that we like just met but…you wanna talk?”
“I dunno.”
“Well, at least come to dinner with me. I actually wasn’t really looking forward to going alone.”
Yugi sighed. “Well, I guess.”
“Alright. My treat. By the way, I’m Ramrik. Ramrik Senamoto.”
“Yugi Moto.”
“Hey, you’re that kid who beat Maximillion Pegasus, Seto Kaiba and that Marik Ishtar guy, right?”
“I guess.”
They were talking about other things until they got to the restaurant.
“So, you ever gonna talk about what’s buggin’ ya?”
“It’s sorta…complicated.”
“What isn’t?”
“True.”
Yugi sighed.
“Well, to start…I’m kinda homosexual.”
“Really? Me too. Well, bi but whatever.”
“Oh. Well, I had this boyfriend and he…well, let’s just say that our relationship took a down fall after two…wonderful years. He…up and left. Just Like that. It hurt…real bad. Deep down.”
“Ouch. Really? Man, I’m sorry. When did this happen?”
“Three years ago almost to the day. Next week would have been our anniversary and he left two weeks after.”
“Dang.”
“So…why are you here? Where did you come from?”
“Me? I came from a place called Sakinohama.”
“Oh, I’ve been there. It sure is a small city.”
“Tell me about it. I couldn’t stand it anymore. Nothing much to do. No action.”
“Yeah. So, you came alone?”
“Yup! You know what they say…’When in Japan’!”
Yugi blinked…but then did something that he hadn’t done I three years…he smiled.
“Wow. You have a wonderful smile. You should do it more often.”

Joey, Ryou, Bakura, Malik and Marik went to the Game shop.
“Gramps?” called Joey. “Hey, Gramps. You here?”
“Back here, Joey!” Solomon yelled from the stock room. Joey walked over to the door and saw Solomon with a million and one boxes in his arms and looked as though his back was going to break in seconds.
“Whoa! Hold it there! Let me help you!” Joey ran over and took the top half.
Solomon let out a relived sigh. “Thank you. I didn’t know if I was gonna make it to the store or not.”
“No problem,” said Joey as he set down the boxes in front of the counter. “Dueling monsters going quicker these days?”
“Well, with all the tourists right now, yes. So, did you all come over here for a reason?”
“Oh, yeah. Uhh, is Yugi home?” asked Ryou.
“No. He went out for a walk about two hours ago. I’m starting to get a bit worried. Is that why you came?”
“Well, yes and no,” said Malik. “We came to talk about Yugi, not to him.”
“Oh? What about?”
“Well, let’s just say that it’s going to solve his depression real quick,” said Bakura.
“We hope,” added Marik.
“So what is this plan of yours?” asked Solomon.
“Well, it wasn’t ours. Believe it or not, it was Yami’s!”
“Really?!” asked Solomon surprised. “What’s going on? Tell me!”
“Calm down, Gramps,” said Joey. “Listen, he came up with this idea. See, his contract lasted for five years meaning that he wasn’t able to so much as breath without permission from his agent. That’s why he didn’t come back. We’ve been calling and writing each other ever since he left and he said that he missed Yugi so much and that he wanted to come back so bad but he couldn’t. His contract made it pretty much impossible to leave the country with out the green light from Yanni, his manager/agent. But, he’s been able to pull some strings and…guess what?!”
“What? Tell me right now or I’m ripping your head off!” yelled Solomon.
“Geeze, violent tonight, aren’t we? Anyway, he’s coming back to Japan. He’s coming home!!”
“YES!!!!!” yelled Solomon. “Oh, wow! Yugi will be so excited! I can’t wait to tell him!”
“Well, that’s the thing,” said Bakura. “He doesn’t want us to tell Yugi. Not yet.”
“What? Why?”
“Yami wants it to be a surprise, I dunno. Him and his ideas. Besides, it’s not like it will influence Yugi’s feelings any. He will be just as shocked…or what ever it is he will feel…in the spur of the moment then he will be with four day’s notice.”
“Four days?” asked Solomon. “He’s coming in four days?”
“Yes,” said Joey.
The door to the shop opened and closed. They all turned to see Yugi come in.
He leaned against the door and smiled…then giggled at a small memory.
The others were, needless to say, a bit shocked. Did he hear what they had said?! He hadn’t giggle or laughed or so much as smiled since Yami left.
Yugi looked up te hie his friends and Grandfather.
“Hey, guys. What are you doing here?”
Bakura was knocked out of his gaze. “Umm, we just came by to say hi.”
“Oh, sorry. How long were you waiting?”
“Not long,” said Joey. “So, where you been?”
“I was walking in the park when I met up with this some one and had a bit of dinner. It…was nice. It was like he and I were coming from the same direction. We…just sorta connected. Kinda like you guys.” Again Yugi smiled. “So, I have a new friend. If I had known you guys were here, I would have invited him in so you could meet him. But, another time I guess.”
“Well, that’s nice that you have another friend,” said Solomon. “What’s …uh, his(?) name?
“His name is Ramrik. Well, I’m kinda tired so if you guys needed something…”
“Oh, uh, it can wait,” said Marik.
“Okay, then. “If you’ll excuse me, I’ll be going to bed. See you guys. Thanks for coming over.”
“Night,” said Ryou.
Yugi went upstairs and closed the door behind him.
He stood against the door for a few minutes then changed and laid down in bed.
‘Maybe…there is a chance that I can get over the hurt that Yami gave me. maybe…just…maybe.’
