Kuragari = Darkness too

Chapter three: Math and Lunch

"Good afternoon class," her eyes rested on Elizabeth, "you must be the new student, Miss Kuragari?"

"Yes ma'am, I am."

"Well, since everyone else seems to know already know you, I am Mrs. Tomoe."

Elizabeth stood and bowed respectfully, "Pleased to meet you."

Mrs. Tommie smiled at the show of respect, "Thank you, and it is a pleasure to meet you too."

The class began slow and half way through Yugi realized Elizabeth had fallen asleep, he snickered lightly and caught Yami's attention. Soon the whole gang was trying not to laugh since she had her head propped up on her hand and suddenly her head fell onto Yami's shoulder. Yami's face flushed as she snuggled closer and Yugi snickered, "Pst, Hey Yami....you must make a nice pillow."

The teacher coughed and turned to stare at the snoozing Elizabeth, "Miss. Kuragari?" She jerked awake quickly, "Please answer the problem on the board."

She looked at the board, yawned and answered, "E equals 78 and x equals the sum of B and Z, so it's 40."

The class and the teacher looked at her with wide eyes as the teacher spoke, "Yes that's exactly right......did you do the math in your head?"

"Yes."

"But....how....those were such big sums?"

"Um, I guess I'm used to them, you see I used to paper work and calculators tend to vanish, so I got used to doing it all in my head."

The teacher seemed to be thinking when the bell rang for lunch and everyone gut up and left. Yugi walked slowly, talking quietly with Elizabeth and every so often the others would hear them giggling. They all stood in the lunch line trying to make out what they were talking about and only succeeded in having then look up, stop talking, and trying to look innocent......Between the two of them, they pulled it off quite nicely.

Yami shook his head at his little hikari, knowing that he was up to something by the way his lilac eyes were shinning with mischief. After they all got their trays Yugi piped up, "You know all about the Halloween dance......don't cha?"

The others looked at him with raised brows, "Any how, my little Hikari did you find out about it so soon?"

Yugi smiled innocently, "I was eavesdropping on the meeting about it."

"When was this?"

He smiled cutely, "Um, well..." he looked towards Elizabeth, who happened to look up with a mouth full of strawberry cheese cake (Oh, yum!) and blushed a lovely shade of pink. "Actually, Elizabeth and I kind of listened in this morning."

All eyes turned to Elizabeth, Who appropriately tried to look innocent, "Wha-at? We just happened to walk by the meeting room."

Kaiba smirked, "Uh huh, and they just happened to be talking loud enough for you to hear without putting your ears up against the door?....."

"Um.....yeah..."

The whole table laughed hysterically until they all got the same idea at once, 'Elizabeth would need a date...'

Yami and Yugi were two steps ahead of everyone else and said in unison, "Elizabeth would you go to the dance with me?"

She looked surprised but smiled happily, "Sure, I'll go with both of you."

Kaiba frowned, "Don't suppose you'd take a third date would you?"

"Actually in Egypt it is proper etiquette to take up to seven dates....that way there's no chance for boredom."

Kaiba smiled a genuine smile, "Does that mean you'll take me too?"

"Sure....but nobody tells what their costumes are...and....they have to be original." She looked up smiling, "Any questions?"

"Wait, you's from Egypt?"

"Um, yeah, Joey I am."

"I thought Egyptians had dark skin and eyes........you's skin is like friggin snow.....and you're eyes look like melted silver."

"I'm not a common Egyptian....but I'll explain that part later. Come on lunch is almost over."
